The only issue with Lawrence is that you can't get behind him. If you stay kinda close to the side and bait his crawl attacks, you win.
That's where I fucked up the first fight.
Lawrence took me 2 tries and orphan took me 2 because first orphan fight I tried parrying and visceraling to no avail. Second try I just pooped on him by fighting normally.

I love this about Souls game. Some find one boss easy and another hard as dicks. Another group claims the opposite. Personally I found Ludwig as the most fair of all the DLC bosses and my favorite for a multitude of reasons.

Id say Orphan is the best boss in the game but not my top favorite. Hes also fair like Ludwig for the most part but hes insanely fast and jumpy. I have way more difficulty doing damage to him than the others.

I thought Maria was easy as cake until i had to fight her with different builds/weapons. Now i respect that fight like the others.

I cheesed Laurences 2nd phase with the bow the first time I battled him. Ive since done a beast claws run and this fucker was the final challenge for the rune. Beating him with 0 range will force you to master him. That said, the camera blows in this fight and his final phase is way easier imo.

Failures is fun, and feels like a good DeS kind of fight. Love that music.

Similar for me. I do love Ludwigs second form. The idea of the fight changing that dramatically could be really annoying but he only gains a small number of new moves you have to adjust to so its well balanced. And the tonal and music change makes the fight godly.
