Where did it all go so wrong?
By not making VC4 that fans have requested for years?
Are you really that fucking dumb OP?
He's right though.
Valkyrie Chronicles went from "Japanese 'not WW2'" to full on JRPG giant swords and big tittied waifus with scythes
>Valkyrie Chronicles went from "Japanese 'not WW2'" to full on JRPG giant swords and big tittied waifus with scythes
In the span of a single game, yeah.
>only a handful of cutscenes that feature that
>meanwhile every other game has it as a gameplay element.
I sure do love cutting fucking tanks apart with Giant Swords.
Yeah and he got recked by Flamethrowers, Machine Guns and a fucking Panzerkampfwagen.
Meanwhile every unit is like Maximillian minus Super Sayan powers in VC2 and apparently in Azure Revolution too.
>hey guys let's take a somewhat unique srpg and turn it into a stupid generic button masher where people with swords charge soldiers with guns and win
I swear to god, if I have to kill Selvaria again, I'm done.
So fucking done with you, Sega. There's a reason you shoehorned her into nearly everything you can over the last few years after VC1, and now you had the reason of an AU to bring her back in some facet. Too bad it's just to kill her off again, to try and get the same emotional response out of people.
You know what. I just thought about it. Humans found fire easily because it can also occur naturally. But there's a chance that humans may not possibly invent the wheel.
I feel that its almost a magical thing, in that our ancestors were guided by aimless yet true wisdom, which resulted in the wheel.
So a world without it isn't such a nonsensical idea.
>So a world without it isn't such a nonsensical idea.
It is a massive nonsensical idea.
Especially considering how advanced the civilisation in the new Valkyria Chronicles is. It's impossible for a civilization to miss the creation of the wheel, how do you suppose those giant spider Mecha is gonna move? It needs wheels and gears to move even just a tiny bit. Just look at that fucking Gatling Gun do you actually think people that manage to create a weapon that spins via the Help of gears would actually be unable to spin the idea further and invent the Wheel?
Inventing the wheel is like learning to walk, the further advanced a civilization is the sooner they will stumble upon the wheel.
Perhaps their civilizations started off alongside a spider filled world, unlike ours where man can see animals rolling coconuts around and see beetles roll balls around, so their inspirations are different.
They use ragnite or some other anime magic thing instead.
>I feel that its almost a magical thing, in that our ancestors were guided by aimless yet true wisdom
>Tap snail with foot
>Snail rolls disproportionatly fast
>Snail rolls down hill
>keeps on rolling
>Take slice of tree trunk
>It acts in the same way, but slightly better
Boom, invention of the wheel from concept to birth. I should know. I'm a time traveller.
It's not, it's literally super fuel that allows you to build Nukes, fuels your tanks, heals you (look medicine made up of oil). Ragnite is like the Philosophers Stone except it turns into anything you want.
The only magic thing were the Valkyrias.
>people not understanding that this is a spinoff
That's really neat. I love nature. And there definitely isn't a spider behind that keyboard telling humans how far ahead they were.
Good point. There's also sea shells (which were used historically as currency), sea life in general that isn't fish too.
I guess this is why civilizations favored to flourish in coasts, alongside an available source of fish and boat travel for trade.
We'll just have to imagine that the humans of the new VC games didn't see life forms like that.
Honestly, I'd be content if there is just more variety in mission parameters than "Capture the enemy camp!" and more basis for scores than "Capture the enemy camp in as few turns as you can"
There's is nothing "wrong" about this. Big changes like these are what strong franchises do all the time.
You're not entitled to ask every single games to pander to your narrow comfort zone you hypocritical and selfish fuck.
My only real complaint about this game is that Shining Resonance was shit, and this seems to be made with the same gameplay style. I want to trust MediaVision, but I'm not sure this will turn out well.
Aside from that, VC has always been weeb as fuck and full of crazy stuff. I'm not really a fan of this "anime characters charging into enemy fire wielding xboxhueg swords" thing, but it's hardly the franchise rape people love to complain about. I'm fine with it as long as the game itself is good.
