>>323416012 >i see they gave it a go with bayonetta 2 and the 3rd party ports at the beginning of its life, but idk how it turned out in term of sales Bayo 2 is going for beaucoup bucks on the second hand market due to her inclusion in SSB4. They just have to make the protag a SSB4 character and they're good to go. Hell, that sounds like a good business strategy. "Make games for us, we'll make one of the characters a dude in Smash." EZ money.
>>323416012 Wii U could be on pair or even better than ps4 or even xbone if devs would actually cared most games on Wii U runs on stable 60fps while being in 1080p fast racing neo looks better than most other consoles games and still runs 60fps/1080p without any problem unlike other consoles the wii u architecture is very unique and it so optimization is required but devs just don't care because they hateboner nintendo for no reason
>>323416712 >but devs just don't care because they hateboner nintendo for no reason
The business world doesn't work like that. There is always a reason.
And no, computing just simply does not work like that. The Wii U would not run Bloodborne as well as the PS4, simply because it has worse hardware. The processing power required to run Bloodborne is a lot higher than what's required of SSB4 or MK8, which comparitively has a style that's very easy to render, and doesn't have a lot of heavy shit going on around you.
It's a weak console hardware wise, and so it won't get PS4/Xbone multiplats.
>>323416914 Then riddle me this batman: why does Xenoblade X look just as good as Bloodborne? Is it because Bloodborne is wasting a ton of its processing usage on pointless full screen filters like chromatic aberration?
I noticed the breezeway in the Cathedral Ward, by the graveyard, has a window with clearly detailed room in it. Is it just meant to look like a place you could get to? Or am I missing some means of access?
>>323418760 >Who knows, the durability thing never bothered me, they've already come out and said that they thought that it was too slow in DaS1 and too fast in DaS2.
i dont mind about durability, but, for example, you cant pull off jump attack or guard break consistently in ds2 or dsfix ds1, reason being they tied the input to framerate somehow. or enemy animations being faster at double or triple the framerate. it's unplayable on a 144hz monitor without capping.
just finished Bloodborne and the DLC, haven't played any of the others in the series. Should I: a) Platinum the game (have Yharnam trophy left) b) Play either DaS or DasII while I wait for 3 and risk burning myself out on inferior games c) just wait for 3 d) kill myself
>>323418219 >>323418318 >boring aesthetic that has been done 3 times already >gameplay much more similar to previous games with each weapon having less than half of the nicest of each Bloodborne weapon
"But look, the PC version will have more polygons, that proves you wrong! Also the 1 new move Weapon Arts offer is the equivalent of BB's transformations, nothing lost"
>>323418454 I had a weird dream where you fight Hollow Flann and Hollow Gwynevere as a gank squad boss where Flann is like a faster Smelter Demon all up in your face constantly while Gwynevere hangs back casting miracles. It was even less fun than it sounds.
Filtering seems just fine. As does the frame rate. I've only ever encountered a few instances of lag. Though I do notice the kind of "jerky" motions of far off enemies, but that's only in certain areas
I don't think I'll ever be happy using a weapon in any Souls game after using the Rakuyo for so long. It's moveset is fucking crazy, with super armor on a lot of the moves too. Starting a new build and the slog to reach the Rakuyo is intense.
You just aren't as attuned to notice the shit as I am. Being a primarily PC user with consoles for their exclusives results in noticing these issues to the point where they severely hamper your enjoyment. If you are primarily a PC user that doesn't notice these things count yourself lucky.
>>323418939 Because he doesn't want to make sequels in the first place. # will likely just make references to 1 and 2 like 2 did with 1. The Das3 gameplay already has Drakeblood Knights from DaS2 in it, so that's something that's coming back at least. They were cool as a vestigial bit of lore though, hunting dragons for the sole purpose of drinking their blood because it might free you from the curse. Also official screenshots have had enemies with the Drangleic crest on them and I doubt they'd be dumb enough to use something that important as a placeholder or just for visual flair in promotional material without a good reason for it. DaS3 seems to be taking evenly from 1 and 2 with plenty of its own shit in their for good measure as well.
Where did the 'Miyazaki dislikes DaS2' meme come from anyway, if you read interviews its actually the opposite.
>>323420478 I'm a 'primary PC user' and I loved the game and its aesthetic. A couple PP filters aren't going to bother me so much as a little bit of scratches or fog on my visor when offroading/snowboarding/whatever. Get over it. You're playing a fucking video game, aesthetic is important but it is not the whole game.
>>323418739 No sane CE user will get softbanned. This is by far the worst thing about softbans. I can't skip grinding because the game can detect item manipulation, but code injection is completely OK and can't be detected for shit, so enjoy getting urned.
>>323420638 I playtested a build where I fought a boss that looked like a generic knight but when he got to half health he exploded into a gwyn-looking fire monster. The boss was called 'The Pain of Ages' or some shit, it was in Nip. This is breaking my NDA and Bamco take this shit seriously so I'm out.
>I have never, and will never be able to understand why PC players prioritize graphics over every thing else.
Putting words in my mouth to support your argument is stupid anon. Never said I put it above everything else, I said the artistry is wasted on the hardware. It would've looked stunning and ran fantastic on PC ultimately resulting in a far more enjoyable experience.
>>323420758 He's saying it's wasted potential in terms of graphics and it is. Him being able to enjoy it despite reduced graphical fidelity isn't the issue here. Even then he said he played the game several times over so clearly he places weight on gameplay.
It would have changed nothing for 99% of players whether it was on PC or not, because most people don't have computers capable of running the game on max settings anyways. I'm the only one of my friends who has a computer capable of high settings, and they have not once complained that their graphics being worse made the game less enjoyable.
>It would have changed nothing for 99% of players whether it was on PC or not, because most people don't have computers capable of running the game on max settings anyways. I'm the only one of my friends who has a computer capable of high settings, and they have not once complained that their graphics being worse made the game less enjoyable.
Stupid cop out argument, that's entirely irrelevant anon.
>Stop being a cunt.
I don't even know why you're making an issue out of this. What I'm saying is irrefutable. There's no denying it.
"Bloodborne would've looked significantly better and have run significantly smoother if there was a PC version. The fact that there wasn't is a shame as the artistry the developers put into the game didn't live up to it's full potential"
>>323420924 Framerate was bad, not excusable, but I've been playing console games my whole life, used to have a toaster laptop for PC games, I can deal with it and have fun but still be critical and self aware.
Apologist? I said aesthetic is important, but it's by far the easiest aspect to look past in a video game. I'm a huge baby when it comes to aesthetic, art design, etc. but if a game has certain strengths it can be overlooked. I'd still prefer a more complete or 'perfect' game but I won't let it keep me from having fun. There are many aspects to a game and they all have different levels of importance, leniency, etc. to every person. Having such a fucking extreme level or priority for one aspect is just asking to be disappointed. I'm not saying have lower standards, I'm saying have rational or complex ones instead to enjoy things but still be self aware and critical. You're just being a fucking big baby.
You either have terrible reading comprehension or you just haven't even read the post chain. If you had you'd see that we have mirroring opinions with me being slightly more disappointed on the technical side of things.
Not subjective, relative. Compared to other bosses, Cleric Beast is one of the simplest. He does not have any hugely damaging moves, and his attacks are very telegraphed and easy to avoid. He also has basically no range or elemental damage.
And you have to kill either him or BSB, and I don't know anyone who thinks BSB is easier than CB.
I feel like in the end BB will probably be seen as a top tier FROM game.
When kids 10 years from now are looking back, I think bloodborne will resound as an amazing standalone experience that's more accessible, has better art design, and is a little more timeless than Demons or Dark Souls.
I dunno, I feel that BB works better as a standalone product than any of the other games, MAYBE Dark Souls outshines it a little, but I feel it won't age as well.

>>323421938 DaS mainly has nostalgia value, the majority of the fans got into the series with it and it was more widely available than DeS. I did a playthrough like a month ago and already DaS1 is cracking at the seams of how well it holds up. People getting into the series from this point forward probably won't like DaS anywhere near as much as most of the fanbase likes it now. Maybe I'll be able to discuss DeS and DaS2 without shitposters popping up and being like 'lol das is better i havent played des and only played an hour and a half of das2 but its just not the same lol miyazaki is god :)' or any of that shit.
Sony fanboys get triggered when people remind them games always look and play better on another platform. They want to believe their 300-400 bux box is the same as a pc due to an inferiority complex. If that anon didn't show them the time stamped ps4 and games they would be shit flinging all over. But idorts know better.
Instead they are trying to put words in his mouth and pretend the game wouldn't have objectively looked and played better on the pc even though the anon said he enjoyed it but the game wasn't at full artistic visual potential. Course that argument will go in the trash come dark souls 3.
Now look at what they are trying to devolve the argument into to get the last word so they think they won. It's a child's mentality and a shitposting tactic when they lost the argument.
>bloodborne's combat is more aggressive with more punishment
There really isn't more punishment in BB at all. There's little to no stamina management requirements you don't lose anything of rare value on death like humanity or even health. To top it all off you start with 20 blood vials and don't have to upgrade anything to get that many. You can make a thousand mistakes in a BB fights and as long as you don't get hit by a 1hit kill you can always recover back to full strength in a matter of a second or two.
Playing aggressive in the Souls games is actually the more optimal way to play. People who are scared to drop the shield don't know this. Put down the shield anon pick up the power stance or great sword
>That said, Bb has the best artstyle, Its just 3-x copy pasted everywhere with a worse atmosphere
>enemies God no, most of the humanoids have the same moveset, the beasts are just reskinned skeleton dogs form the Tomb of Giants, the bosses are just wailing matches with spamming vials, the pvp segments just revolve round hp tanks spamming their infinite ammo guns and the game tries its hardest to work against the parry system. DaS wins this
>and locations. Its basically the same for the most part, spooky dark everything, would argue even DaS2 with places like Loyce had better locations
>>323422234 DeS holds up today. But DaS babbies are overly vocal and are shit as usual.
See this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Da2DbvPS37Y Careful, has tears. Also invader is apparently banned. I laughed. Good times indeed.
>DaS1 is cracking at the seams of how well it holds up. Get to Dukes Archive and Lost Izalith. Give up because sooo boring and areas are massive just because you are small in DaS1. Also, slow animations and way too forgiving.
>>323415826 Why in the world would you have gotten Dark Souls II on PS3? Demon's Souls is lovely and I played Dark Souls on the PS3. But those games have performance issues. Dark Souls is a lot better on PC and replaying it on PC was much more enjoyable than playing it on the PS3.
Knowing the performance differences between Dark Souls on PS3 versus Dark Souls on PC, and knowing ahead of time that Dark Souls II would be on PC. Why get it for the PS3?
>>323414683 I feel like, if the Bloodborne DLC is any indicator, the only thing that could possibly prevent them from topping this would be Bandai Namco fucking them up the ass. I thought that the fight against Gehrman was great, but Orphan of Kos and Lady Maria topped it easily, in my opinion. >The melancholy in Lady Maria's track. >The subtle alien feeling behind some parts. >That Orphan of Kos track. >The mercy and sympathy at the start. >The realisation that you're dealing with the nascent source of the nightmare and that he will fuck you up.
>>323422898 >aggressive play has always been superior, bub This idea is why The Four Kings have a reputation of somehow being hard even though they are among the easiest bosses of the entire franchise.
The souls games are changing and have a ton of variation and stories going alongside each other. In BB everyone just doesn't give a fuck about the hunt and most of the areas rotate around the three same themes of church/spooky/graveyards and never strays from those themes. It does wear thin after a while especially since it borrows so heavily from DeS
>>323424895 Both Artorias and Ludwig were hyped up as really cool dudes in the main game that we never get to face until they end up in the DLC. I'm willing to take bets on DaS3 DLC once we have a firm grasp of the lore to guess which unencountered character we'll fight as the cherry on top of the DLC cake.
>>323423775 >I never played the game, the areas have no variety. OK then. >Cityscape. >An abandoned old town with noticeably older architecture. >Area around Grand Cathedral. >Forest setting outside of Yharnam, settled by witches. >Grand medieval castle in a snowy area. >Spooky forest. >The mysterious remains of a campus. >A grand area of Yharnam with comparatively odd architecture. >A strangely mutilated version of a university lecture building. >Odd, floating nightmare realm that clearly takes inspiration from the Giant's Causeway. There are swamps scattered about the area, too. >Dark nightmarish realm with spiralling, ridiculous architecture. Landscape is made of strange solidified corpses. >A nightmare version of Yharnam. >A spiralling, vertical research hall that leads into plenty of other rooms, with a rotating spiral staircase. >A fishing hamlet on some alien plane, connected to a coast. PLAY THE GAME.
The Lecture hall was so weird. I go there and it feels all mundane and then you go into the presenation areas themselves and get mobbed by a bunch of pathetic blob-students, and then after you kill them there's a few just sitting in seats doing nothing.
>>323427708 They were bought by Kadokawa, the biggest anime and manga publisher in the world. They have a stake in pretty much every industry you can imagine, but an awful vidya division. The acquisition of From is meant to help rectify that. BB and DaS3 were From's last contracted games before the sale so after DaS3 and any DLC they're required to do under contract is released, all future projects will be published by and likely co-developed by Kadokawa.
>>323427930 It looks like the Abyss stuff teased AotA and the Chaos stuff teased in CotIK are both being fully realised here, and simultaneously to boot. I really am excited to see how the fuck everything links together and how the series ends.
>>323428792 >letting Gehrman kill you and prolonging his suffering because he's a good person >not killing him so that he can finally be at peace after his decades of service >not chowing down on some ayylmao placenta beforehand so you can not only free Gehrman from his servitude but also kill his captor and become an ayylmao yourself You even get the Plain Doll as your momfu. Life is great.
>>323430489 >drawing the environment with bloods >not shitty blood decals cluesless sonyggers shill detected. you can randomly paint it with blodd for muh artistic vision but a competent dev can make variation of blood decals and behaviors to make it organic and immersive.
>>323432069 >fanservicey thing the game is made to entertain you, you blind fuck There is LITERALLY no cons from doing so and it makes the game better as a result, you are a PCuck you can spot it a mile away you fucking faggot.
>>323418667 I play on console every time because I seriously couldnt stand the cheaters. There are still some on PS versions of the games but nowhere near as much as on PC. 0 fucks given, that shit ruins my personal experience, no amount of grafix will alleviate that shit.
>>323421938 I think Im seriously going to miss the dodging and trick weapons(essentially you build yourself for using one weapon but are infact able to use two) guns were shit in my opinion wasnt a fant of the rally thing.
I keep going back and playing DaS every so often and I can feel how slow and clunky it is comparatively, and it seriously fucking sucks how methodical the combat is. That said though, looking at gameplay of 3 it looks to be way faster and less rythmatic, the enemies dont just stop attacking because they hit you now. Another thing to note that there was never any shit point in BB, where in DaS as soon as you kill O and S the game takes a nosedive in enjoyment, BB never suffered that at any point and went from strength to strength, never a point in the game where you roll your eyes at the prospect of going through it, like dragon ass hell for example.
Fuck you I have played it and done most of the chalices, the only area which was different and new was the Loran Chalice. Your just over describing shit to prove a point and breaking up stuff like the forests which are exactly the same, the cainhurst castle which feels like the castle in the nightmare and just writing pure drivel about the spooky church architecture which has been spammed everywhere. The saddest part of BB is the fact none of the areas feel alien even though part of the games dedicated to that
>>323431509 God damn, that looks so much better than the first two. I started with Bloodborne and worked backwards and it's so jarring how bad the animation is. Enemies rarely/barely flinch, there's no blood or any other damage-indicating visual effect. It all looks and feels like a PS2 game.
