How badly will the early leak damage the sales of DD?
I'm guessing the port won't even break 50k honestly.
Shame. RIP Dragon's Dogma.
>Capcom says they will consider making a sequel if the game sells well on PC.
>Suddenly early copy springs up.
No one expected them to actually do it, not sure why they would intentionally hurt their sales. But I suppose they've made some questionable decisions in the past.
Pretty bad, cancelled pre order and just pirated it. If these companies would learn just to release games when they are fucking ready to play this wouldn't be that big of a issues
The far left number is the refresh timer. Read them from right to left.
Thanks for playing anon, sleep well.
Welp I just bought it, so what ever. I'll play it next weekend, be a good work out once I'm done with first week of Uni.
>leak damage the sales of...
It won't and it never will. Early leak decryption scandals are free advertisement and interest. I like how its the top sold game on steam and other third party websites after hearing some about it days back. What a coincidence.
Because now they can get it for free instead of paying
>Here we go, one pre-order for the official PC release of Dragon's Dogma from Capcom, I can't wait until it's released, so I can pay for it an
>HOLY SHIT?! A LEAK?! Fuck pre-orders, now I can grab that shit and play as a brown smug loli in medieval times FOR FREE!
But why pre-order if you're going to pirate anyway? I mean, it doesn't get you the game any faster. It's just weird to go from pre-ordering to pirating. Now, if it was from buying at release to pirating, that would make more sense to me.
I find it silly he's trying so hard. This thread actually got me to buy the game.
What happen to DD and why does an early copy even affect anything? It's not like it's entirely new content or shit?
Could some kind anon explain what's happening here because I preordered it and I won't cancel it because it's a game I fucking LOVE.
>devs want to make sequel depending on port's success
>port gets leaked
I don't see how it makes a difference though, the game is going to be pirated anyway and there is no marketing so it's going to sell like shit either way.
Capcom knows this and only wants to squeeze a few more bucks from PC players.
>pirated it so I can play it early
>Capcom says they will consider making a sequel if the game sells well on PC.
Look, I'll be buying the PC release because it looks like a genuinely good port of one of my favorite games from last gen, but you'd have to be some special kind of retarded to STILL be falling for this shit from Capcom.
They've thrown out this "sequel if this remake/port sells enough!" crap so often and have never followed up on it, regardless of actual sales numbers. They just want to try and push more sales, that's it. You know what they gave us after DA? A mobile DD game and DDO. They don't want DD2, and a few PC sales won't change that.
The only thing I have against pirating this port is that they took the time to make some genuine improvements to the game, but considering this would be the third purchase of the same game for some people, I can't fault them for pirating. There will be more than enough people who buy for the rift to be populated with pawns, so I'm not worried.
>someone buys a game
HAHA YOU WERE MANIPULATED YOU DUMB PKEK
>Having a Male in the party gets the Elder Ogre excited, making its cheeks and buttocks flush red. It then targets and chases that Male without paying any attention to other party members.
this shit is hilarious
>Always play male and bring along random female pawn for bait
>Now I am the bait
>not being an ottermode male with his bara fighter companion at max height
>being a lolifag
just pirate it if you can't wait, then buy it when it comes out for the pawn/online stuff
also you're gonna replay the game several times with newly created characters/classes, unless you really don't like the game
>If a game is good it will sell!
Ubisoft and EA were right all along
>beg or get excited for a PC port of a game
>will most likely cry several times in the future about "why isn't this game ported to PC???"
On consoles, backing up your save file to duplicate items (hire someone's pawn, give them the item, quit and reload your back up save file) could get you soft banned from the Pawn system for a time (I think it was usually a week to two weeks).
Every item your main pawn got gifted became a rock and you got no Rift Crystals.
You can try, but no guarantees the servers will accept your file.
Reminder that Capcom did this to themselves.
>Let's give out a "review copy" to every youtuber to call themselves a 'journalist' and their buddy
>Also the "review copy" is the release version of the game
>What could go wrong?
Nah. I'm buying it since the port is pretty good. Nice guilt trip though, OP.
>It leaks, confirms what people were hoping for
>Shits selling like candy off of Steam's digital shelves
>Guiz pirates ruin sales k?
Eat a dig nigger, each and everyone like you.
I specifically bought it after pirating because I've been waiting forever for it.
Shit I'll probably buy Deserts of Kharak outright, I've been on the fence due to not being sure what weird vibe it was I was feeling.
Then I watched the trailer, it's got love-child vibe mix of Homeworld & fuckin' Ground Control. Retcon be damned, I'm hype.
>>Shits selling like candy off of Steam's digital shelves
It's selling better than games like Fallout 4 and GTA5, which were released some time ago.
Just because it's at the toplist during a downtime game release period means fuck all in terms of sales. The game could still sell pretty poorly.
>just bought it
You didn't really buy it. You bought a limited use digital license. Gabe made you forget your consumer rights. I honestly was never really a console fag until real physical PC games started fading. Now I'm a 100% console buyfag.
I didn't buy Dragon's Dogma on PC because I felt spending money was the only way to access the product - I've been a teenager like everyone else and know how hilariously easy software pirating is.
I bought it because I liked the game on PS3 and I want to see more products of that quality.
I've known this for a long time.
It's why I keep backups of all of my games, including my physical media on a offline HDD. This way I can continue to play them even if the service goes down.
>playing the game a few days early is better than having pawns
Why would you pirate a game that has a big multiplayer component like this?
Because I can transfer the save over to the legit version. I don't need to do my pawn training online, and at low levels even online pawns are gonna be shit because they're untrained too.
>I preordered Dragon's Dogma
>Had full access to the game early if I wanted to.
>Didn't cancel my preorder
I'm not saying that it 'won't' hurt sales, but I didn't cancel my preorder or any shit like that. I also like having up-to-date patches. I think those are pretty important, especially when on PC.
Personally, I don't care about a sequel (coming from a person that hasn't played the game yet, obviously), but I DO like the prospect of Dragon's Dogma Online coming to the states and hoping in some vain attempt that it will motivate them to that conclusion.
>not even on GMG because fuck those cunts
>he missed the deal
Speaking of which, have you tried editing your name yet? What doofus thought backspace should be the "close window" button? If they have a day-1 patch that blocks my save transfer but unfucks the backspace thing, it'd be a more than fair trade.
No, I haven't tried the game yet. I'm waiting. I technically "have it", but just using it for points. I honestly wonder if dev's are fucking up games on purpose 'til they get their first patch out on day one. It sounds tin foil hat, but it does make me wonder.
It's still up, but you can keep posting your laughing faces folder.
how is this version compared to ps3? i have to say i have ps3 version but ive never played it, is it much better? also do they add new translations for eu? it would be nice to play it in native language
Ah, yeah the name thing is over the top retarded. A marvel to see actually.
>Restart via hard mode, decide I didn't like my name
>Change basic info
>Backspace one letter
>Return to top menu
>Change basic info.... etc
>Finally clear name
>Name is autofilled with nickname
You shouldn't be shitposting you literally are paying for a digital only DRM infused temporary license of a game you don't own and can't play without Steam, can't sell can't trade, etc. You've been brainwashed because when you were a child Steam had a monopoly
lol I know "DID THEY EVEN BETA TEST THIS!?!?" gets thrown around a lot, but there's a lot of shit where you just sit there in awe. Sometimes it will be some shit like that you mentioned or some shit happening at the beginning of the game. Something you can easily replicate - wondering how the fuck no one saw that. Or wondering, possibly , if they knew and just didn't give a fuck. Stamp it. Deadline met.
>I'm not saying that it 'won't' hurt sales
multiple studies have shown piracy promotes sales and pirate fags spend more money on multimedia entertainment than normalfags
I also ran into the oddest problem with KB+M. I'd long since set my DPI buttons to regular keyboard keys so I can use them as buttons. So they're set to 9 and 0, because I never ever use those keys in a game.
Turns out in DD "0" is a reserved key, you can't bind anything to it.
i hope fucking capcom goes bankrupt
I'm sure 60k sales for under $5 are totally going to save the franchise. I'm sure it's totally not a capcom cashgrab capitalizing on PC fats thirst for games in order to get pocket change.
"studies" that aren't peer reviewed
"studies" from one guy
"studies" that are from northern or eastern european shithole
"studies" as a whole that amount to only like 2 or 3 max
"studies" that have <100 people sample size (or better - no stated sample size)
Nobody's looked anon.
Well except me, I found some files that you might be able to just replace and get new images/music. For example the CGI cutscenes that aren't generated ingame are just .wav files sitting there.
Anyone who modded RE or DMC will recognise the file formats there as they seem to be a staple of MT Frameworks, but I havent worked out how to try and open/create them myself yet.
>multiple studies show something that cannot possibly be proven
Must be some really fun studies. That's fucking retarded on a basic logic level. It can help good unknown games. It definitely hurts games that are already sufficiently advertised or popular.
DmC is surprisingly okay with KB+M, especially when you can press 1, 2, 3 for Rebellion, Axe and Scythe and don't have to hold Q or E the entire time
>but it's shit and nothing like DMC
It's a generic action game to me, complete it one time and that's all
What are the weight and height minmax guidelines?
if you know you're a retard, why do you keep on pretending?
the .arc format has been decompiled in the past.
and seeing as the folders are organized nicely, hex editors won't have too much trouble if nobody extends a hand to a potential modding community.
I mean easily accessable files where basic infomation is stored like rendering distances.
We already have the unpackers for MT framework, the engine is shit and you cant do anything with it apart from texture swaps
>"studies" from one guy
>"studies" that are from northern or eastern european shithole
>London School of Economics
I find these guys more trustworthy than the MPAA or RIAA when it comes to piraces
I just want to download it to see if it will work on my toaster, don't jugde me anons.
I will buy it if it works all fine. If not I will need to wait till I buy a new battlestation.
All of my mates are hyped as fuck, especially those who already have it on consoles.
>"studies" that have <100 people sample size (or better - no stated sample size)
In total the sample includes 1,095 albums from 1,075 artists. The research focuses on albums that leaked before their official release.
Main things I can see currently are:
Themes might be replacable
Might be able to remove the watermarks from the screenshot function.
Remains to be seen if armor textures can be replaced or we can do stuff like turn everyone into skeletons.
ok brah, I'm sure you'll buy it after pirating it and spending 200 hours on it. Or maybe you'll say those 200 hours were shit and not worth paying for? Or "fuck steam, day one pirate!"?
>taking a car and depriving someone of said car is the same thing as copying game files, for a game he already bought.
he already bought the game, why do you give a single fuck?
You know that you can make backup copies of the games you've purchased on Steam, right?
I mean, what kind of retard who pretends to care about physical ownership would not known about this system, or have in place a backup HDD to install those backups onto?
It's alright anon, I downloaded the seyter and checked if it runs 4K 60fps and it did. Deleted it right away...I just couldn't do it man.
If you've played the PS3/Xbox 360 version try mystic knight because it was unplayable back in the day. The game will go inter 25fps just using your ultimate.
Babby's first piracy much? Just because there's 5 million copies pirated does not equate it'd get that extra 5 million sales otherwise. The ones willing to fork over full price for it will had already done so. The majority that'll buy it after that will just wait till it's on discount when steam sales months/years later just like every damn game.
whatever I say you're not going to believe me except for the answer you already have formed in your head and nothing I can post would convince you of the contrary so either way whatever I do is a moot point
the point is that on average the effect of piracy is net positive and pirates promote sales
have a nice day :^)
Music and texture swaps are easy modo
Model swaps were possible in at least Resident Evil HD Remaster
Large gameplay and some animation changes were possible in SFIV
I don't see smaller mods like new armours, weapons or quests being too unlikely, but it's too early to tell.
>80% is going to pirate
>19% is going to wait for the game to go under $5
>only 1% is going to buy it on release
>everyone is going to play assfaggots instead anyway
And that's the reason why PC is a meme platform no developer takes seriously.
This is great, now I'll buy it if the leak turns out good.
Is there anyone with a 650ti here to report? I don't have the cash to upgrade to anything better for now and I really want this game to play decent.
Have people with subpar cards like the aforementioned gotten into gran soren? Hows the framerate there?
Now that you guys are playing the game, post screens. Me and I bet alot of others are gonna make their decision wether to buy it or nor based on how crappy the graphics actually are. Did they atleast make HR textures for the port?
It can work like that for some obscure games because word of mouth starts spreading from people who wouldn't even have tried the game if it wasn't free.
For an already well-known game like DD though, you have to be a fucking retard to say piracy helps it in any way.
Pirate who buys games he likes after playing them here, suck it.
And I played DD at a friend on the PS3.
They did make new HD textures but not for everything in the game, as you can see here. Some textures are still PSVITA tier.
There are a ton of graphics options and there is a FOV slider which is really amazing, the game feels great with a higher FOV.
Controls perfectly with mouse and keyboard.
Game supports graphics mods perfectly and a tin bit of sharpening really boosts texture quality.
Yes they did, look at the official 4k images and compare them to the console version. The textures are completely different.
>Should I put 20 levels of fighter on her to raise her would be minimal defense?
no, defense is irrelevant for sorcerer pawns because you can revive pawns as many times as you like in combat at no cost except having to walk over where they died
Grafix are pretty gud (for an old game). Framerate's stellar too.
Too bad I don't feel like replaying it after dumping 100 hours into it on xbox, but I hope PCbros can enjoy this good game.
>Yes they did, look at the official 4k images and compare them to the console version. The textures are completely different.
Not him but thats what happens when you uncompress textures, console versions of DD used textures so compressed you cant even tell they are the same textures when uncompressed.
There is actually new things in the game graphically though, mainly lighting and
I know this is full on shitposting but come on, that's not even trying
I like it when faggots like you get butthurt about it.
Also when fags try to decipher what the games are (made sure to let some part of the title so they can figure it out) and they go all "HA IN YOUR FACE" as if my games are any important secret.
should i buy this game?
what's combat like, dark souls? does it have similar levels of precision or is it really floaty?
> as if my games are any important secret.
Why not just let it show faggot?
What is the point of censoring your library?
>Hahaha try to figure out what games I play xD xD :^)
You just sound like a massive faggot.
How easy would it be to transfer a save over from the pirated version to a legit copy?
I am not a patient man.
>artificial release dates
>game gets leaked
>cry about it
Just release it when it's done, it's not like anyone going to buy physical copy anyway.
Isn't it digital only either way?
>buying a piece of paper with steam key in a box
I probably would have if people here didn't get so bothered over it :^)
>You just sound like a massive faggot.
Thanks, you too.
Don't blame me, blame the industry for having shit games not worth buying. I own a shitton of PS2 and PS1 games, they just don't make 'em like they used to.
A quick clean cut (in this case, a bull's sharp horn puncturing and shearing open the skin in one quick ramming motion) will cause the blood vessels to seal shut due to inflammation from the trauma.
The same goes for gunshot wounds and rapid stabbings.
Very little blood will leave the body through a surface wound unless said wound is slow and aggravated so as to not cause the small blood vessels to seal up (or if it caused damage to large blood vessels like main arteries).
>I probably would have if people here didn't get so bothered over it :^)
The only one bothered about it here is you, since you are so embarrassed you cant even post your game collection
When will I get cool looking armor in that game? So far I look like a dirty peasant.
PC boxes are always cheap in Europe. The max I paid last year was Witcher 3 (45) and GTA V (39). All the others were >35, and most AA games like Endless Legend, Cities Skyline were 19 euros
You're making a semi-poorfag anon so happy right now guys.
I'm actually upgrading CPU and RAM along with mobo for this and SFV but lack the funds for a better GPU so I'm upgrading the foundations. 775 socket mobo atm and its so shitty.
Also how's does the preorder period work? Can I wait until the last minute to make my purchase or do I have to buy it a day before or so? Waiting on some steam cards to be sold in the meantime.
>Hahaha you will never see my taste in games anon!
>Haha I sure showed them by not revealing my shit taste
>Wow I'm such an epic trole xD
>Not being a faggot
>When will I get cool looking armor in that game? So far I look like a dirty peasant.
It gets better at gran soren
also maybe the berserk vendor in the tunnels is still there
otherwise you need to wait for the gryphin armour
>all these butt-hurt fags who shilled DD for the past month begging people to buy the game
Oh its bad to pirate THIS game, top kek
Dude you seem to really want to know my games so again I'll give you a tip, I didn't fully cover the titles, you can probably make out more than half the games there. They should be easy to recognize since most of them are similar to DD or Capcom games.
>Not worth buying but worth pirating :D
Yep you got it. You moving goalposts now that I proved to you that there's pirates who buy games?
Alright, I guess I'll go for a day before release to be on the safe side. Thanks again anons.
How do I deal with the quest map? It tells me to go north to a mountain but when I go in the quest menu and press map, it just shows me where the original quest faggot is but not the place I have to go to.
AHAHAHAHAHA NO SEQUEL 4 THEM JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJ
Try posting a screenshot next time
Strangely(?), it's not in this case. My brother got the retail version since it was only £13 and it turned up today. Obviously won't install yet since it's Steam based but the box does contain multiple DVDs.
these are the kind of people who browse the /v/ - video games board on 4chan.org
no they're not not one of them was me
Wasn't that Golden GoldenArc-Guts Sword?
I thought they cut that shit out
Also, can I just load the crack and use it on the preload?
Though I feel conflicted because I like renting pawns
If anybody is interested I'll post the numbers for making Mercedes. I don't know if this is everything, but you can fill in the blanks.
eyes-33 eye spacing-1
enjoy playing as or with Mercedes.
>Wasn't that Golden GoldenArc-Guts Sword?
>I thought they cut that shit out
no, it's this one, even better than the guts sword by like 10 damage
You're right, your belief that piracy is wholly negative completely refutes actual governmental and economical studies showing otherwise. Truly you have more insight and resources than any agency studying them could hope to have.
That's not the same. Don't fall for the constant shilling for this game. The HP pools are way bigger than in Dark Soul. It is Berserk the game, and more of a beat them all than a game with tight combat. It is pleasing, but nowhere as demanding as an action game with tight combat.
>Didn't play DA
>Check the changes from the base game to DA
>Assassin augments nerfed from +70% attack to +20%
>tfw I never even wanted to look up maps on the Internet because this game gave me the feeling of actual adventure
>people who haven't played something before don't know about a feature in that game
this is either a falseflag bait, or you're a genuine retard
What vocation should Wesker pawn be for Complete Gransys Saturation
>implying this is some kind of mystical knowledge only true DD veterans could know
It's still Steam only with a code yes but the DVDs look to contain basically the preload data (bar I expect it probably got cut a month or so back for mastering so may well patch when it installs).
It's not like some other games where the entire contents of the disc has literally just been the Steam installer and then you download everything.
As mentioned before, only your pawn levels up
However, if you want to keep the same pawn, you can "refresh" it in the rift, if the owner Arisen leveled the pawn up and synched it
The shilling for this game, is a real mystery for me. The game is far from being perfect and still, /v/ talks about it like the 8th marvel of the world.
>The map tricks you and is not as big as you would hope
> Characters have interesting motives to do what they do, and there's much symbolism, but the quests are really bare bones.
>The final boss fights are really memorable, but the bestiary is not that vast, many skin-swaps to blow it.
>Most of the quests feel optional and are uninteresting
Sure the gameplay for the warrior make it a Guts Simulator, but it was never that good to begin with.
A buddy of mine beta tested the PC version in December. The game is largely unchanged outside of the removal of the Berserk items due to licensing issues. Shit sucks, but it's understandable.
Oh yeah I misread pawn there. Still, Strider or Ranger, with a focus on daggers more than the bow. Give them that skill that lets you dash through guys and attack them at the same time.
>Nothing like Berserk
You really think that, honestly? Even though Capcom put Griffith and Golden age Guts armors in the game? Even though the warrior gameplay is an exact copy of Guts moves?
Once you get the Dragon's Dogma, there's not much you can't beat.
Assassin skills didn't get nerfed, so they're still going to be really fucking good. I just liked not having to care about pawns but also running around with massive attack bonuses to compensate for it
