who the fuck thought this was a good place to put the fucking power button? I've turned my fucking 3Ds off so many fucking times mid hunt in monster hunter I've lost count and at this point at least 3 hours or progress. And okay maybe I'm fucking weird for hitting it, WELL GUESS THE FUCK WHAT why would a slight touch of the button close out of the fucking game without warning losing my fucking progress? Why the fuck does it not function like the home button, which doesn't throw my game in the shitter, but pauses the game and asks me what the fuck I want to do, BECAUSE MAYBE I DIDN'T WANT TO HIT THE FUCKING BUTTON YOU FAGGOT
pinky goes to rest on the bottom without me noticing, muscle memory from playing PAD and then boom its all gone, never do it on purpose my pinky just ends up doing it. too be fair my hands are p much as big as the 3Ds
>pinky goes to rest on the bottom
I shouldn't be responding to this.
Are you kidding? You have to press the thing as hard as fucking possible for like 10 seconds to turn it off. Shit I thought mine was broken at first because it was so hard to turn off. And shit, what kind of retarded position would your hands have to be in to even hit the fucking button? The only way you could accidentally turn it off is if you were fucking retarded.
>pinky goes to rest on the bottom without me noticing
Are your fingers fucking broken? I shouldn't even be replying to this, you're either hideously deformed or stone cold retarded.
I have more of a problem with the Stylus location.
On the original 3DS XL, i can easily get the stylus without thinking about it or repositioning my hand really.
on the new XL I have to find it, and kind of try pinching it to even pull it out, it's awkward.
How small are your fucking hands? Resting your pinkies on the end of the console isn't an uncommon thing?
granted i have the standard size but i can just use my pinky to flick it out, it's pretty convenient as long as it doesn't shoot all the way out. usually stops on its own about halfway.
that is literally the dumbest thing i've ever seen, how the fuck do your hands not cramp up? honestly if you're dumb enough to hold it like that you deserve to have it turned off.
>how do your hands not cramp up
Have you tried it? Your pinkies would literally be resting on the end of the console. The palm of your hands would be grabbing the sides, so your pinkies would be able to relax under the edge.
I didn't even realize it was an uncommon thing until now, and neither did I believe people would start screeching because of different mannerisms.
>mfw i just tried to do that
jesus fuck your hands must either be absolutely titanic or completely fucking mutilated
I do it too. But I've never turned off my 3ds
No other choice, the system had to use Micro SDs
and I guess they didn't want kids constantly losing their battery covers like people did with the GBC and GBA, so they made it so you have to unscrew the thing to get access to it
Except you're really not. If you're resting it so that your head is looking down on the screen, then your fingers would be the one absorbing the very-small amount of pressure.
The only time I could even understand your pinkies holding it up is if it was being held up completely straight, in which case, your palms would likely be the ones absorbing the weight, anyway.
what pissed me off about the 3ds layout is the fucking volume bar.. why the fuck is it resting on my left hand. I've turned the volume up accidentally so many fucking times, I don't want to hear the trash sounds
Problem there is that anon is holding the console vertically and not up, where your face and eyes is.
Unless you play slouching down, but that's something you can't do if you play lying down in bed, like I do a lot.
It's not "pressing" on anything, but it is resting on the bottom of the console. Not really sure about OP's case, but if you were even to exert the smallest amount of force on your pinkies, then it may accidentally press the power.
Oh cool, i'm not the only one. I'm glad I don't have a n3DS or I'd be enraged as well. I did this a lot with my PSPhat and DS-Phat. Sometimes I do this with my beer bottle, but that's just because of muscle memory.
True, but I think their thinking was probably something like
>Kids could lose microSDs really easily, let's do something about that.
>The average user will only ever need to replace the card once, if that, so let's just put under the battery cover.
how the fuck are you supposed to hold it then?
it's in the system settings, under data management i believe. pretty well explains itself there. personally i don't trust wireless shit nearly as much as i trust actually putting the card in the computer.
>Set up CFW on N3DS
>Get used to Start and Select throughout the process for rebooting and other shit
>Set up friend's O3DS for CFW
>Constanly power off the 3DS multiple times by force of habit when Start and Select are needed
My pinky finger does curl around near the power button, but I've never accidentally pushed it in over 1500 hunts in MH4U.
I don't have the tiny jap hands that the handheld was designed for either.
This thread is pretty much everyone saying they don't have this problem and OP is a unique case, though. I'm going to assume you don't have one, because you'd know that button is pretty damn hard to accidentally push.
