I feel like Demon Hunters will be the new class that all the shitters migrate too just how it was with Death Knights. Something in the name just seems like it would attract all the r tards. I also think people have a harder time learning a character that is already half way leveled, or in this case 90% already leveled.
I'm honestly pretty hyped about trying out the new survival spec for hunter. I'll probably stick to maining my warrior or paladin though.
>love Warcraft lore >stopped playing WoW near the end of Wrath >tried to get back into it in Warlords >jesusfuckingshit >excited about seeing Alleria and Turalyon come back, but I ain't playing that shit again Warcraft 4 when bros?
>>323374913 Every talent tree either has a passive that enhances certain abilities you already have, or introduces completely new (in some classes case, old favorites) abilities which do add a little more to the rotation than the base most.
Not only that, but Blizz is still designing the damned classes. We still know fuck all about Vengeance, for example. We still don't know how Shamans are being handled.
Really wish retards would stop spewing dumb shit like this every time. 10/10 bait.
>>323380539 Yes, but it feels so goddamn sloppy to have an ability like this for like 7-8 years, and it's just completely stripped away to be sold as a class basically. For christ's sake they even have warlocks in-universe with Metamorphosis now. Oh no though, fuck all that shit and sweep it under the rug.
>>323381751 >demo locks are gonna get fucked If you never liked demonology the way it was, maybe. I did at least, but apparently i'm in the fucking minority and have to deal with my casual-ass friends who've played a warlock maybe once in their lives lauding the shit out of it.
>>323381751 basically they took out metamorphosis since demon hunters are getting it. Instead, they summon different types of demons and also spawn a million imps. I have no idea why people think this is bad.
>>323381905 >>323382094 >>323382165 Alright, cheers. I guess I'll stick with demo, I've still got my other spec free if I need to change over. I'm terribly indecisive though, hence why I've never chosen between Affliction and Destruction
>>323382165 It was alright and warlocks have always been able to pull high numbers by the end of the xpac and have so much fun utility.
Blizzard even gave locks dark apotheosis for awhile and let them soak or some shit remember? Also it was weird for them to have to stand in melee range to use that breath spell for awhile.
Personally I feel like aside from demonic leap they should keep a lot of the metamorphosis abilities and give them another movement spell and call it like felfire bolt or some shit and have a green lightning bolt come down and hit them and teleport them so many yards, aka a cooler blink cause fuck mages
>>323373089 I'll probably give them a chance, but if it's anything like Warlords turned out I won't be subscribed longer than a month. I'm probably going to try and weasel my way into getting a copy of the expansion for as low a price as possible as well. Higher price for less content is fucking unacceptable.
>>323382612 >I have no idea why people think this is bad It's bad because of how fucking sloppy it was done. Like I said earlier, metamorphosis was with locks for something like 7-8 years and just gets scrapped completely. They could have conjured up some new lore-friendly metamorphosis ability name or some shit and kept with adding new shit to Demonology, cause being honest, it was always half-baked. "b-but just play a demon hunter then!"
Blizzard will never make another decent game again. Activision is pulling the string no matter how much Blizz drones want to stomp their feet and say their different companies.
I hope they don't make Warcraft 4 in the same way I hope EA never decides to make a KOTOR 3. Theyl'l just end up shitting in it. They don't make video games anymore man, they just make hype and micro transaction platforms.
Blizzard don't even bother with content patches anymore, just expos. Why bother wasting dev time on free content patches when you can just shit out the next yearly expo and get paid for it?
You don't even need a plot or villains or anything. There's no creative writers. Just recycle some shit and release it, do some alternate timeline backflips if you need to just meet the holiday release window.
When Activision Blizzard took over they replaced most of the nerdy game developers at the executive level with execs from buiscuit manufacturing companies and laundry detergent companies. These people are just concerned with a yearly mass-produced product. The problem is they haven't figured out that good game dev is like an artwork. It's not like da vinci put out a yearly Mona Lisa.
>Model overhauls >Orcs couldn't have brown or black skin, or choose a model where they stand straight as males or hunch over as females >Dwarves couldn't be Dark Irons >High Elves STILL AREN'T A THING ANYWHERE It's a goddamn shame just how badly they screwed all of that up.
>>323373089 Yeah, ima make a cutiepie female NE Demon Hunter. Going to xmog her armor into something with the maximum amount of skin so something like Ceremonial Leather Garb set you can make easy with leather working. Goes well with black hair and the neat thing is that Demon Hunter Nightelfs in particular can have black hair. I'm thinking the short horns with short hair and the normal Caucasian looking skin tone also exclusive to that class of night elf that'll go well with black tattoos and one of the non-see though blindfolds. I like to make a character less flashy than others when so many others are incredibly flashy. For a name I'll just use something in latin.
You know, I subbed for a month in december after not having played WoD since launch, and I have to say the game was pretty alright. Gearing up through mythic dungeons was pretty chill, if a bit too rng based. I just wish that I actually had some friends to raid with so I didnt have to join random normal HFC pugs which stops after teron gorefiend because people are still so suprisingly shit at this fucking game.
The problem with WoW is that its designed to basically only be fun/played whenever a patch comes out for a month or two (like Diablo and maybe HotS and SC2), depending on how much you wanna raid what is current shit. If I had a fun group to raid with I would probably sub for another month to at least get the moose, since HFC is a pretty fun raid and you can actually do SOME stuff now outside of raiding. Cant say anything about pvp though.
>>323386218 Beastmaster wasn't even that good though, you only had one pet at a time except for a single CD. Should have let you slot a bunch of different pets to different skills, and each time that skill was used a different pet popped out to do it.
>>323373089 I am not. I dont want to play one of these. I think the Horde suffered enough from Bloodelf Deathknight edgelord faggots. I like to play melee DPS and now I will have to compete with a fuckzillion demon hunters because they sure as fuck wont play tank.
I usually play Monk/Warrior. Even if I got into things with the Monk it would suck because I'd roll against those faggots all the time. I also considered a rogue because of Outlaw which looks great but again, the Demon Hunters will fuck it all up.
This shit will most likely force me into going ranged DPS. Sadly there is only one rangeDPS/Tank combo, and fuck going Moonkin.
>>323389119 Raiding, particularly Mythic, is fucking fantastic, easily the best on the market. It generally manages to make classes feel good to play, and unlike the rest of the clones, it allows for extensive modification of its UI with third party addons, which is surprisingly important.
Mythic Kromok is one of my favorite boss fights ever.
>>323389119 I like it because I've invested an assload of time into the game and am pretty familiar with everything. It just doesn't feel fun starting in a new mmo from scratch knowing fuck all about where everything is and what you're supposed to do anymore.
Could you expand on classes feeling good to play? What kind of feelings are you looking for? Is it satisfaction in the damage or effect on the battlefield that classes have? Or is it the ease of use? The animations?
>>323389508 Mage, particularly Arcane and Fire is great. I've never found anything in an MMO as satisfying as getting a massive 60k Ignite on Xhul'horac then spreading it to an entire pack of adds.
Marks Hunters are great too, particularly with 4set T18, nothing else feels remotely as mobile as that, in any MMO i've played. Also Enhancement shamans are in a really good spot now, fire and lightning everywhere.
Class design is a bit hit or miss though, some specs, like Blood, feel like utter garbage right now.
>>323389851 >Class design is a bit hit or miss though, some specs, like Blood, feel like utter garbage right now. The design of blood is great it has a unique tanking space and lead the way on active mitigation, it's implementation right now is ass but it's looking hot in legion.
>>323390048 That's what the spec was always supposed to be, less passive mitigation than any other tank (with the exception of BRF obviously) but a tonne of situational actives. It's what made the class fun for me.
>>323390016 it's essentially an expanded FaF alpha but with streamers because streamers = free marketing
by restricting them to only the stuff that is basicly done they don't risk people throw tantrums about shit that is still in alpha (see: everyone going babyrage because the first alpha draft of their class isn't exactly what they wanted)
>>323390536 WoW got the token system and thats plenty already. I dont want more of this shiet. I also think that they should put cash shop mounts and services like character transfers behind the token system.
I want to be able to access everything by simply playing the game.
>>323390916 Because the spec is all about maximising the value of short duration procs, if you just use everything on cooldown you'll get by perfectly fine but the best monks in the world don't play like that and it shows.
>>323390360 >That's what the spec was always supposed to be, I'm not arguing that - I wish that was how Prot warrior still was, like in WotLK where you basically just looked like a fucker playing a piano because you had to hit so many fucking buttons. I definitely miss that.
>literally impossible to spend all your resources at high gear levels >But massive gaps where you have nothing to spend at all at low gear levels >Only 1 good level 100 talent >Blood Boil in general >Scent of Blood being the garbage mechanic that it is
Removal of abilities means that WW won't have enough buttons to maintain their new Combo passive, also TeB lost uniqueness and the new SEF, despite being less clunky, removes a lot of control from the player and won't be used in some fights even when it would be a DPS increase, for example if there are 3 targets alive and you want to ignore one of them.
Mistweaver goes from being one of the best raid healers in the game to being good at 5mans and absolutely nothing else. Removal of unique mechanics ie: ReM -> Uplift. The auto-casting soothing mist can be interrupted, causing nature lockout, which means every MW will need a stopcasting macro JUST for that. Ultimately nothing but a poor mans resto druid.
Brewmaster seemingly has no way to mitigate non-physical damage, change from chi to straight cooldowns removes complexity and makes the spec less interesting to play. Removing mechanics (Gift of the Ox), even though they weren't very good in the first place, just to give to Demon Hunter tanks is bad design.
Moonguard is the only reason why I even bother coming back to World of Warcraft now. Even if my Friends gets me to play the game, the true reason is because that's the only server with people who even bother to do anything in the overworld.
>Vanilla World of Warcraft >Finally do myself a Tauren Shaman >It's the best class ever for me, a DPS who can heal and tank for the party if shit ever goes down >Also the best Class for PvP, Alterac Valley for a whole week was the best shit. >Burning Crusade comes >It's still okay >Wotlk makes it's way >Still love the game >Cataclysm pass >LFD, cross-realm and everything in the line fuck up what I love about the game: Meeting people >Find out about Moonguard at the same time >Try to play the shitty game but it's never get me playing for more than a month or so. >Every single expansion, it's makes my Shaman looks more and more like a shell of it's former glory than something fun
>>323391778 >literally impossible to spend all your resources at high gear levels
What talents are you taking, you're taking blood tap right? Even with shitloads of multistrike, I don't have a hard time keeping my resources spent.
You're right about the low gear level issue though, but it's not much of a problem anymore except for in challenge modes.
>blood boil in general What do you mean?
>Scent of Blood being the garbage mechanic that it is You're right, you can pretty much ignore scent of blood. Though it's still useful for Death strikes in between blood boil spam for AoE dps.
>Only 1 good level 100 talent
Defile is alright. Breath of Sindragosa is worth using if you want to contribute more dps. Also using BoS pretty much eliminates any possibility of resource capping.
I mean as Blood I pretty much play BoS and stack multistrike just to see how long I can keep it going on bosses. Feels pretty awesome to keep it going 30-40+ seconds. But yeah I'd hardly call that much of a tanking thing, it's more dps oriented.
>>323393434 Death of the overworld and the individualize realm is what will kill WoW in the long run. The overuse of phasing to crossrealm any group bigger than 50 people in one spot and crossrealm already killed world PvP. It's even impacted RP - gone are the days of big server events or even smaller guild versus guild in a random zone. You just can't do that shit anymore. I liked phasing when it was the result of completing some quest chains, but now it's just used to "fix"
Everything is just a bandaid on falling realm populations because Blizzard doesn't want ot do server mergers anymore. No one feels like their realm is their community anymore. Because you barely interact with people from your own realm. There's no consequences or reward from talking to anyone or fucking someone over.
WoW's descent is because you don't actually feel like you're in a realm or the world anymore.
>>323394268 I just want more mergers, but ACTUALLY mergers, like take 4 dying servers and slap them all into the same server. Not this bullshit "everyone gets to stay on their realm because autists would get mad if their server changed name" Not to forget the Name-Server retardation that breaks basic game functions
>>323396370 Jab and Tiger Palm were rolled into one for WW. This doesn't sound like a big deal until you consider that BoK can't be spammed anymore and RSK, as always, has a cooldown. At some point you will have to either let your Combo stacks drop or just sit doing nothing for a few seconds.
Mistweaver doesn't have any reliable raid healing spells anymore. Things like RJW are not reliable because they require very specific positioning from the entire raid. The issue with soothing mist is that you don't have control over it. Imagine healing Thok or something where there are constant interrupts, it'd be clunky as fuck.
I want to believe that it will be really fun but currently Havoc is shaping up to be a 2 button rotation with 2 cooldowns. I'm not panicking because there is still plenty of time to fix this, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried. I'm more interested in how Vengeance works as a tank spec. As long as one of the specs is fun I'll enjoy playing one while maining another class, I'll probably only main a DH if Veangance is very enjoyable because there will be way too many havoc DH.
Where the hell are you getting the info that Jab and Tiger Palm are fused? The latest pass didn't have that.
>BoK can't be spammed anymore
What? Yes it can, the cooldown changes weren't that drastic.
>RSK, as always, has a cooldown.
Fists of Fury, Jab, Tiger Palm, Rising Sun Kick, Spinning Bird Kick, Touch of Death all as things that can maintain our combos. You bitch about shit being simplified but it's actually meaning you'll have to keep track of cooldown numbers to be able to make sure, 100%, that you'll be able to maintain your combo.
>Mistweaver doesn't have any reliable raid healing spells anymore
Their artifact gives gigantic, near infinite raid healing. Also once again you're complaining about simplification and homogenization but don't want a class to be single-target minded. Pick a battle.
>because while it's kind of similar it's not really the same in practice
It's literally the exact same thing. Burst heal on everybody with a HoT on them. See above: WAAAH SO MUCH HOMOGENIZATION, b-but I liked it when they had that one unique thing ripped from an existing class.
>>323394268 The reason blizzard won't do server merges is because they have to report it.
When they report it to their seniors, their seniors have to put it on some big stock anouncement.
Then you as a 40 something year old investor with Activision-Blizzard in your portfolio see the announcement "Activision-Blizzard to merge servers to combat failing populations" and think, OH SHIT I GOTTA SELL THAT STOCK.
Selling stock causes stock price to plummet.
Stock price plummeting means the guys that own a lot of stock (The CEO of Activision-Blizzard) lose a shit load of money from holding stock that's falling in value.
Thus the CEO of activision Blizzard basically says, if you merge servers or even hint of it. You're fired.
According to this: https://finance.yahoo.com/q/mh?s=ATVI+Major+Holders
Kottick himself holds 4.5 Million shares. Each valued at 35.71USD. That's 160 Million dollars worth.
If an announcement like that causes share price to drop from 35.71, to say $32.00, that's $16,000,000 he personally loses.
He and anyone else that has a controlling interest will do whatever it takes to keep that shareprice up. At the moment that means regurgitating expos, and mass producing content.
>>323397871 From the Monk class preview on the WoW blog:
>Tiger Palm >50 Energy, Melee Range, Instant >Attack with the palm of your hand, dealing minor damage and generating 2 Chi. >Tiger Palm has an 8% chance to make your next Blackout Kick cost no Chi.
Blackout kick can't be spammed because of the Combo passive.
ToD is something like a 3 minute cooldown so it's not part of the combo rotation and SCK competes with RSK and FoF for Chi, not to mention it's an AoE ability so will most likely be a loss to use single target.
I have no issue with there being healers more suited to certain jobs, however this is a complete reversal of what MW is and has been since its inception. For a company that likes to talk about 'class fantasy' a lot it really doesn't seem like Blizzard have any consistency.
Genesis, the rdruid spell that consumes all your rejuvs on the raid, was pretty much never used and didn't really fit in with the spec anyway. Also, unless I'm mistaken, Uplift existed before the current iteration of Genesis did anyway.
>>323399116 Because speculators are clued in on WoW going down, they're waiting to sell.
The only thing holding the price up is the promise of new games being released. (Not that those games are going to be any good, this is from a shareholder perspective).
The idea being, you wait around that time of year when a new CoD or new WoW expo gets released. You buy in a month or so, before, hold until the release notice, and you sell on the 'spike' in share price when the news comes out.
It's pretty reliable way to make decent cash, and it's basically why this whole yearly release cycle is even happening in the first place.
Without a yearly release cycle the shares would inevitably make a slow decline.
Not a/ biz/ fag so why does stock as a concept need to exist? There are probably safer ways for companies to emerge and get start up funding and it seems the market is just played by professional money movers who contribute nothing.
>>323399441 >generates 2 chi >has a chance of making BoK free >consumes energy
I didn't bring up BoK in a vacuum, the issue has always been that WW will sometimes not have buttons to press if they want to maintain stacks. When you use Serenity, because it's still in the game, exactly what are you supposed to do with all those GCDs?
Uplift has been the core spell of Mistweavers this entire expansion. Their niche is as a raid healer.
I mentioned Genesis because that's what you're actually talking about. I incorrectly brought up Swiftmend, Swiftmend is a single target panic HoT, nothing like Uplift.
If you bought in at $25 before gamescon, and sold immediately after the announcment at $27.8 you could make some decent money pretty quick.
If you took a loan for 100k or something, put it on ActivisionBlizzard before gamescon (4000 shares), and sold at 27.8 (the day after gamescon and Legion announcement), you could make 11k in something like 3-5 days.
If you held for the rest of the month (with balls of steel) you could make 16k~.
This shareprice will fall when the game is released no doubt, but they will hopefully have another piece of shit their announcing at that time to prop it up, and keep people that matter happy and enforcing the yearly shit treadmill model.
>>323399852 It gives wealthy people a nice place to 'park' money to grow it passively.
If you have 5k savings or something, you can be pretty satisfied leaving that as USD in the bank. If the USD falls by 5% under cataclymsic circumstances, you've only got 4750 in the bank no biggie.
But... if you've got 5 million dollars. It becomes risky to keep it all in USD in the bank. A drop of 5% means you just lost 250k.
In steps in investment instruments, some of which don't even grow money but just 'hold it steady'. By splitting your 5 million between USD, shares in microsoft, oil companies and activision, and gold you can be sure that even if some things go down in value other things will go up and you won't lose money. You might even gain some.
People like Kottick are heavily invested in Activision, they also are the CEO of the company and make controlling decisions on basically whatever aspect they want. If they believe a yearly release is what will keep their money safe, that's what theyl'l pursue.
In the midst of this they don't really have much time to 'enjoy' video games, or even really understand what makes them fun, only what makes the profitable in the short term.
Thus we're in the situation we are in today. Video games have evolved from a niche industry run by nerds with fun ideas.. to a multi billion dollar industry, where the people making the decisions are making the decisions not because "Hey wouldn't it be coool?"...
They're making the decision because "I need to offset the loss in crude oil, thus I will increase my stockholding on ATVI, and go into over-drive on microtransactions to boost the Q4 figures for a good cash out in feb in which il'l rebalance my portfolio". This is the thinking that causes games to be developed by big companies these days.
>>323400189 You're being extremely aggressive for someone who apparently hasn't even looked at the changes.
www.wowhead com/news=250045/legion-beta-build-20740-class-spell-changes-including-demon-hunter-abilities#monk >Jab: New Name - Tiger Palm
>Expel Harm - Removed
If by 'Dragon Kick' you mean the replacement for Hurricane Strike, it's a cooldown that costs 3 chi and can only be used when FoF and RSKare on cooldown. It's going to be a burst ability that isn't able to be used as part of the core rotation.
>>323400510 Blood Elf is the best Monk race at the moment because they have a free +1 Chi ability but Night Elf is nice for tanks and pandas are generally decent because of the food passive.
I admit, I'm ultimately a Wrathbabby. I came at the ass end of WotLK. I didn't pay much attention to Outland because god damn the red and green with the washed out colors was such a fucking eyesore, I did everything I could to skip through it.
But leveling a hunter now in WoD through Outlands, I not only see the obvious inspiration for the aesthetics for the garrisons, but the fucking ruins look way better.
Blizzard somehow gave us infinitely worse resources for garrisons than the fucking obliterated quest hubs.
