People say it's legit, or that it's 16 gigs of dolphin porn. Gonna find out for myself later.

TWII felt really rushed in many aspects. You could find empty enemy camps all around the chinese city (New Ashos?), then there are two ruins in the world that look like portals but do nothing and best of all, once You finished the main story, you could go back to the mines and take on a quest to kill all these golems you summoned earlier. They would drop their weapons but with the way the game handled leveling you probably would never be able to equip those. The swamp area was really nice but like everything else in TWII it was too little and too short. The magic system was pretty great tho.

There is an official map of the whole world the games take place in and there is one huge landmass left. So here is hoping that, if a third game comes, they take the exploration and freedom from the first and combine it with improvements from the second game.

The only thing that a ranger can't natively do, is deal with monsters that are immune to physical attacks. Even then, you can grab a pair of elemental daggers or a longbow to offset this.
Also, by the time you hit endgame, you'll be violating with any class you choose.

Most fun? Depends on what you like to do. Some people love the big hits of Warrior, some like the solo play and counters of Assassin. Others like the crazy spells and utility of the Sorcerer. And then some just like the outright tankiness of the Magick Knight.

They all do their own thing. So whatever you find the most fun, run with that. Just don't play Mage.

It does. Not too much beyond looking interesting though. All quests are fetch shit, combat is disgustingly terrible which is why I was rolling a mage and the game world feels absolutely dead, even more dead than in was in TW1, not even lying.

Magic is pretty cool but once you realize that all you're doing is mixing and matching differently coloured fireballs and realize how broken some of the effects are (blind, invis) even this part of the game dies down

Ranger is quite good. It can really fuck up low defense enemies with ten-fold arrows, and has a couple hard hitting skills for high defense foes, all at great attack range.

You'll be pure physical damage though, so you'll need some form of magic to deal with ghosts and shit. But you want to balance your party at least a little bit in that regard anyway.

It looks a bit generic, but it grows on you after some time. It's hard to describe, but there's just lots and lots of great little things you keep discovering which keeps you excited and make it all memorable.

How do I into qts? I keep ending up with Pawns looking something like this.

If gear is ~80% of your stats, does that mean you have to gimp yourself if you want to look decent? Do you have to play as a giant purple spiked dildo if you progress too far?

Honestly the best thing to know, is to always ALWAYS upgrade your equipment, and hold onto at least one of everything. There's an NPC that can forge copies of crafting materials for you, and they work fine for upgrading your gear so always keep at least one extra of everything on hand.

Defense is just a straight damage reduction, so if you don't have enough attack power you wont be doing fuck all for damage. Keep your gear top notch and you'll be fine.

Status effects are fucking amazing in this game, so use them.

Few people would agree with me on that, but i liked the first one more. It felt like an open world game. With a shitty, bland world, but still a world nonetheless. TW2 on the other hand just feels like a series of spawn boxes for ostriches (yeah, one of the first enemies you encounter are damn ostriches), baboons, rhinos etc.
The guilds and the magic system were improved in some ways, but they're still pretty shit so who cares.

Not at all. Gearing for top stats is total overkill, though you may not have as much leeway with weapons as you do with armor. Armors with poor defense still offer great resistances, especially when upgraded. A simple shitty leather headband can still make you immune to like 3 or more status ailments.

Is there any point in downloading the preload from 3DM, or should I just wait to release day and download a simple cracked version?

Wouldn't suggest a Support Mage simply because it's the hardest one to fuck up and there will be several. Just find one with support spells and the right staff, bonus points for Medicant as secondary inclination.

Fighter is iffy, most of the people who would want a Fighter pawn probably made their pawn a Fighter. But if they're Sorcs then chances are your Fighter will be loads better than theirs.

Just remember, without access to online you don't have access to pawns, or trading/gifting.

Additionally you cannot do the online Ur-Dragon fight and get decent rewards from him. Also, you'll not get many rift crystals, meaning you will struggle to obtain BBI items and equipment, or upgrade them.

Without BBI gear fighting some stuff like Ur-Daimon or Condemned Gorecyclops is just a fucking chore and takes forever.

Dragons dogma doesn't really have much dialogue or quests of any description beyond go to place, kill x. It's nearly entirely about killing large monsters, climbing all over them and casting over the top spells. The gameplay is a lot more action-y than TW3 also.

the "fetch quests" aren't even quests. You take them and forget about them, they'll pop up as completed sometime during the game, and they don't give anything besides a little bit of gold and exp.
The ACTUAL quests is where it at, they are great. usually resolves around the same characters and what not, but every quest feels like a great little story/episode.
