Serious question to Vita owners. Do all these 3DS pirating threads make you question buying it?
I already have one. What does this have to do with the vita?
This so fucking much. It was horrendous on PS3. Luckily Its better on PS4, but I still miss the old one.
the guy making this new vita UI might as well just just call it playstation-metro
But no, OP. I don't regret it. Vita lacks a scene like the PSP did, so I wish we had that going on.
piracy is for poor people and kids who dont know any better
I for one do not want streaming-only content
>Besides, most vita owners are idorts that own both.
Pretty much that.
Just got mine as a gift with a 64gb mem card. It's graphically impressive compared to most games on my 3ds.
Also, I thought the vita was dead but GameStop still has vita game pre orders.
Some retailers have pulled them and games off the shelves. My local Walmart and Target don't have any systems or games anymore, haven't for almost a year now. Gamestop and online are the only places I can find games.
i've been questioning it long before these 3ds hack threads started popping up
nothing i can do about it now, fuck the 3ds because 240p gaming is disgusting and i wont sell my vita because there are some decent games coming out that will actually get me using it this year.
Not at all. I remember how all the localizations started to dry up right around 2009-2010 when hacking PSP became super simple. I wouldn't wish that upon anyone.
Getting free games and having nothing else new come out isn't worth it when we're already getting a bunch of niche stuff and pretty good digital sales.
>I pray they never implement that ugly PS3/PS4 store style on the Vita.
There needs to be a way to download all of the DLC you own for a game at once. It's such a pain in the fucking ass.
Vita Hack and Homebrew when?
I want some free games.
i dont even want vita piracy
id like some homebrew though
maybe something that would allow fan translations or undubs to be applied to your games
Yeah, looks aweful, but it might be cool for a PSTV since it doesn't have to move.
I'd love buying more vita games, but damn, between the price or the memory cards and the import ...
Nah, if anything, that just means more money to spend on Vita games until the Vita becomes fully hacked for "backups."
Didn't really have many 3DS games to begin with. Everything that's coming up for the 3DS looks meh, so now I got a backlog for the system
for free. Also fuck region locking. I wanted EX Troopers and Rorona minus to play.
No, because I have a well paying job and buy games for all my consoles. Despite having a 3DS, I only wanted 2 or less games in the last 2 years, so it hasn't really changed anything.
I still buy more Vita titles per year, and hacking on another console doesn't make me desire it more because most games will be tested, tried, and abandoned the week I start them.
>Serious question to Vita owners. Do all these 3DS pirating threads make you question buying it?
Nope, because I'm not a filthy pirate that steals from hard working japanese developers.
hacking your vita would be like mind breaking Uni-chan, only monsters would do that.
I have both and I usually support my fave games so I'm confused on the question here
Even though I like the Vita storefront it has some major problems like not being able to view a game specifically and then the DLC from it, and not being able to batch download stuff from your download list. Having to go one by one for some games like LBP and Senran Kagura is so irritating and takes like five minutes.
Nothing is stopping me from buying a 3DS. The problem with a 3DS is that even if you can pirate games on it it doesn't have games I want to really pirate.
A friend lent me a Vita with the 2 games I wanted to play the most and after 5 hours it's safe to say that it's shit.
The 3DS is getting nothing and pretty much got nothing the last year, but I'm already satisfied with what it offered me.
I'm glad the Vita has no piracy, just means I'll get more shit localized.
That being said, the 3DS is pretty much dead at this point, so I don't understand why people would care. Once a Nintendo console is done, it doesn't have any support, it just stops.
This can be seen on the 3DS since last year.
Sony consoles often have long term life cycles, and the Vita is no exception.
First is Gravity Rush. First of all, the game is pretty much a showcase of the Vita's gimmicks, with even doing something as simple as dodging requires you to swipe the screen. Being in gravity mode shows how terrible the sticks are, and I had the gyro go fucking crazy, which is something that never happened to me with other gyro controls. The game is full to the brim with constant tutorials that stop you on your tracks to teach you things that you already did, worse than Skyward Sword. Enemies are all the same, so combat becomes extremely repetitive.
And then there's Persona 4 Golden. Unbearable dub, boring characters, archaic combat,
unbearable music, time limits, and little to no fucking interaction with the fucking GAME
I have both and I'm happy with both, tho I tend to favor my vita more because of all the cool stuff it can do like remote play.
I got DOAX3 and cyber sleuth coming in February, then project diva x and Odin sphere whenever those come out.
person who owns a 3ds, new 3ds, psp, and vita here and Im getting bored of all of them. vita and psp have just jrpgs and 3ds just has kiddy games, so take your pick.
Ignore the gravity rush shitter, he comes into every vita thread to announce his dislike for the game despite the game having a largely positive reception. The game was fantastic and executed well.
I literally played it last week and this is my first time talking about it on the internet. Fuck off.
As if "Largely positive reception" means anything on the internet when it comes to fucking videogames
Wow, and what are you playing on the 3DS atm that you find better? Like current releases.
Gravity Rush is tutorial heavy at all, and enemies get more varied as you progress; that being said the combat can get stale.
You're opinion on Persona 4 is pretty shit, what are some JRPGs you enjoy?
He seems to have nothing of basis in terms of complaining other then his own shortcomings when it comes to enjoying games. That being said, I would like to see what he does like considering his commentary on the said games are terrible.
>Like current releases.
Didn't I say that there hasn't been fuck all on the 3DS for a year? Why do you have to get so defensive?
>what are some JRPGs you enjoy?
Are the Xenoblade games and Dark Souls JRPGs? Or are we talking strictly turn-based? If not, none.
>And then there's Persona 4 Golden. Unbearable dub, boring characters, archaic combat,
unbearable music, time limits, and little to no fucking interaction with the fucking GAME
So you played a 60+ hour rpg that's universally known for having a slow start for less than 5 hours (if those hours you said are for both games put together)....I'm just going to go ahead and call you a fucking moron.
I am convinced its the same one guy who always comes into vita threads with the same argument, he has a vita and like 10 games for it but has massive buyers remorse and love his nintendo console, he revealed himself before and showed pics of his handheld and admitted he makes it a priority to shit on the vita in vita threads
You obviously went into the game with a bias against the vita, admit it, and I am actually glad you didn't enjoy it and let non problems destroy your experience. I'm not sure why you are even complaining about actually having proper dual anaolouge sticks as well. The gyro is also another non-problem and didn't effect my experience of the game. Yes the combat could be better but it's forgiven considering the type of gameplay the game is aiming for. The part about tutorials is also complete nonsense.
If you take a step back and realize the sheer scale and fidelity of the open world and the fact that its actually dynamic and alive then you'll be able to appreciate the game. The fact that the vita can actually execute proper 3D modelling and not the
Is it safe to hack and be able to download any vita game? Or can you only download specifc games depending on which firmware update you are on and which hack you have installed? Do you have to downgrade or upgrade to certain firmware to get certain games?
This. This. This.
I bought the 3DS for Pokemon, played and enjoyed all the Pokemon 3DS titles excluding spin offs and have tried to venture into the library to justify the system but I can't.
I don't know what it is about the 3DS and it's game, I just can't into them, it feels like this device was made for somebody much younger. The games just fail to engage me. Nintendo caught my nostalgia bucks though that's for sure.
They are both called Chronicles. And I said Xenoblade gameS. That means both.
I don't fucking know how much I played of it. I tried playing every night for 2 weeks and gave up. How much am I supposed to force myself through a game? Shitty introductions make a shit game.
>You obviously went into the game with a bias against the vita
I played Gravity Rush because I wanted a break from Persona and have fun. I was ready to buy both it and the sequel on PS4. At least the PS4 version fixes the controls, the framedrops, the framerate and tutorials don't pause the game, but I don't know if I want to
>These were never an issue
If there's a version out there that runs at twice the framerate, then it's an issue. And framedrops, specially on a 30 fps game, is an issue.
I didn't even add these issues to my main complaints since it wasn't a reason why I disliked the game, but it sure is an issue
The controls are more or less the same though on the PS4 ver, you just have more control over what you're doing because the sticks on the DS4 allow for more accurate input I guess. The game is superior on the PS4 full stop though because it has a graphical upgrade and looks amazing.
If you have a vita, try another game/genreperhaps an ARPG like tales of hearts r, try disco games like superbeat xonic vns: steins gate, corpse party adn daganronpa. The vita like the 3ds dose niche stuff well, don't just dwell on 3d action games or the big names.
Those are definitely not system sellers. I also already tried Tales of the Abyss on 3DS and Vesperia on an emulator and disliked them both. Danganronpa with the translation patch too.
Most reviews and such never included framerate being an issue at all.
You are making it an issue because you wish to repeat it was a problem in a game you hardly put hours into.
Stuff like this ventures into fanboyism as you find false pretenses to attack things for.
Why do you bring reviews to the table? I, myself, noticed framedrops, quite noticeable framedrops. And when you are waggling your system around, framedrops matter.
Reviews won't mention framedrops until it makes the game unplayable.
No, I traded a bunch of junk games to a place and got mad credit. I'm not talking AAA or popular games either these were max $3 games each and I had about $400 in credit. Got a Vita, 32GB memory card and a bunch of other games and items that were AAA or valuable to flip for cash. Vita is the main system I'm collecting for right now, my favorite current gen handheld/console.
Because reviews have factual technical information rather than the ranting bias of an anonymous douchebag that enters these threads willingly to discuss his lack of interest for a console he doesn't own.
Indeed. I'll forever love Pokemon, but fuck do I wish it was on Vita. If Nintendo were to go under, I'd want Sony to get the IP. Don't care who else gets their IPs, as I literally only care about Pokemon.
