>tfw this is the only game Im excited for this year.
I think with the new theme with the embers and shit, and with no pyromancy during the network test that they might be doing some sort of twist with pyromancy. I can't see it using the mana bar, I hope they do it well though.
>make a boss that is meant to surprise you
>spoil it for everybody before the game comes out
>the only upside of the battle is the surprise, since the rest is just fighting off a billion ads and occasionaly hitting the tree's crotch
B R A V O
same, I have nothing to do for the next few months. there no other games i'm interested in besides bloodborne but I don't wanna buy a bloodborne machine. I don't know what to play until then.
>Bloodborne completely fixes backstabs by making them hard to pull off
>they go right back to dark souls 1 garbage system
Literally 1 fucking job
>implying 30 isnt acceptable if stable
Fuck off Totalcancer, Bloodborne was 30 and played just fine.
>hosts gets an HP buff over invading phantom
>invasions only occur when the host has a friendly phantom summoned
I will not be surprised if non-Estus healing items will be disabled for invaders, shit like Seed of a Tree of Giants, and other mechanics to try and coddle hosts and fuck over invasions.
Actually, it looks like it's more of a combination of DaS2 and DaS1 backstabs, meaning it's still pretty fast to backstab someone but there is a moment during the animation when you can actually dodge out of the way.
They are basically completely killing online.
This series invented the invasion mechanic altogether, when coming up with something original in this day and age is actually hard as fuck since pretty much everything's already been tried already, yet they just can't stop shitting on it.
It's just baffling.
They completely ruined dark souls 2's online system by not giving us a permanent invasion item and soul memory. In bloodborne they also trashed it, although not as hard, by making you fight ganksquads all the time.
Most of these things were done to prevent twinking but it only made twinkers the standard. I have never seen a single invasion in bloodborne that wasn't a fully finished character with chalice gems and these are the ones I use to invade as well.
DeS is the only game that understood invasions and made them part of the actual game because it rewarded you by giving you half your HP back. I wish we could go back to such a simplistic, straight forward and fully functional formula like this one.
>Odin's Sphere with good gameplay
>Gravity Rush 2
>Final Fantasy boyband edition
Is Danganronpa 3 coming this year?
Tons of people who played the demos said that at least against enemies they would go in for a backstab and in the middle of the initial "stab" there would be a moment where the enemy was still moving, I also saw a DaS3 network test PvP video where someone did actually dodge the backstab, though I can't find it.
>Gravity Rush 2
Oh fuck I completely forgot, that one too. That demo they showed off looked great.
>>Gravity Rush 2
This actually makes me want to buy a PS4. Really enjoyed the first one on the Vita
They should make a covenant specifically for that "hiding in plain sight" shit people have been pulling. If you can get somebody to time out the invasion and not take damage you get some sort of reward in return.
One with a pretty yet fragile, almost dead, lady.
>tfw it might be another DaS2
Rat king covenant turning rats non-hostile and allowing you to bro it up with them.
I'm actually looking forward to see the reaction of people who only play on PC when they see how good they made the hitboxes in this, since it's using bloodborne's engine. The parallax bumping is also incredible, like in pic related. I think you guys are gonna like it. I just wish they'd stop shitting on the invasions already.
>played the Souls series
>now every fighting mechanic in every other fantasy game feels like shit in comparison
Witcher 3's was the most recent disappointment.
So far, redditor stress testers are consistent with needing a friendly phantom in order to be invaded and works like Bloodborne's invasion system. Yes le redditor blah blah epic meme, I don't give a fuck as it's the only source so far about DaS3's invasion system.
Gonna take it wit ha grain of salt as it's just stress testing right now, but I'm not getting my hopes high right now. I don't understand the need to make this so one-sided against invaders. DaS1 had a good system where the host can actively heal his phantoms with Estus chugs while the invader could hide behind mobs.
I just wish they could have kept bloodborne' blood splatter effect as well because that shit looks just fucking amazing. It's so goddamn satisfying to see your character drenched in blood after a long hard uphill fight. I'm gonna play this on PC and I really wish I could see that in all of its glory. And also they should have kept bloodborne's phantom styles as well. The fullbright shit from DaS 2 looks awful.
But yeah, I hope it's good. I'm gonna keep an open mind when playing it and not set my expectations high because that really didn't work out well for me in dark souls 2.
I don't even understand the point of coddling the hosts at all, Des/DaS1 had the right ideas, the invader is supposed to be a menace that poses a challenge to the player. If they want to stop twinking just lower the fucking base power on equipment per level of upgrade but greatly increase the scaling, it isn't that fucking hard. And twinking isn't even that much of a problem, at most you'll ever encounter only a couple of twinks at low levels when you can't handle them, if people really have a problem with twinks just play offline or implement the DaS2 thing where you can pay humanity to temporarily halt invasions.
You can thank the kiddies who threw massive tantrums because a twink killed them once when they were starting their characters and how it "totally ruined the game guyze!!!"
Gotta pad the way out for them.
>Backstabbing anyone in PvP at all
>Gun Parrying being a high reward/low risk defensive option that punished attacking players with one hit kills in a game where you're supposed to be aggressive
This is true. It begun with me looking at the weapon upgrading in DS1 because of the brutality of giving just barely enough materials in a playthrough and then not adequate explanation on how to use them.
Then while you are there you realise the weapon you are upgrading was not the best.
Then you try to figure out the best weapon, say "Holy shit, wait some gear can affect your attributes?", "There were whole zones I missed?" and next thing you know you've absorbed the wiki into your scalless proto-flesh.
Like that god damn ladder man I'm DS2, yes he appears when you beat the area but god damn.
>Invades someone elses game with the intent to kill them
>Expect chivalry and "rules" when you just jump randomly at them, trying to ruin their run
>Starts crying because of them chugs an estus
Why do PVP babbies try to force rules on invasions?
I like letting the player explore and learn by testing things, but bloodborne for example has some retardation, such as the fact you can't trust your weapons actual AR because there's some hidden bullshit multiplier on them. It's needlessly complicated and retarded.
Sorcery is derived from the INT stat
Miracles from FAI
Sorceries tend towards magic missiles out the ass, whereas miracles are more towards buffing/heals/protection. Offense and defense, basically
I feel like DaSII had the right idea as far as invasions go (Introducing the Sentinels of Blue and allowing you to sacrifice effigies in order to temporarily prevent invasions.), but then they ruined it by not including a full red-eye orb and then by introducing SM.
Have you even been in a fight club? Or in an invasion at all? It's easy to parry enemies in your own game, but with latency involved it is actually difficult to parry another player consistently if they are not retarded. Guns aren't as safe as you think they are.
One uses Intelligence and the other uses Faith. Sorcery tends to be shooting bolts of magic to attack from a distance while Miracles tend to be more geared to support and enhancement (healing yourself, buffing and electrifying your sword).
>DeS is the only game that understood invasions and made them part of the actual game because it rewarded you by giving you half your HP back. I wish we could go back to such a simplistic, straight forward and fully functional formula like this one.
This is why bloodborne and demon souls will always be the best the soul series had to offer.
Bloodbone had the atmosphere and story like demon souls while giving you good gameplay mechanics.
The multiplayer is shit and you can only invade in two areas freely without getting gank squaded, but you can die so easily in BB that fighting 2 players at the same time int that much of a hassel
Demon souls had good atmosphere and story and great online aside from grass spam.
Faggots who complain about twinkers were the same casual scum who gave from a reason to destory the multiplayer of the souls games.
The whole point of invading someone is to fuck with them!
Its suppose to bee annoying.
Casuals ruin everything.
I'm surprised from even listened to their bitching since they are Japanese developers and they usually dont give the slightest shit whay american, tumblr, casual, sjw, faggots think in the slightest.
I honestly have very little faith in DarkSouls3 and dont plan on getting unless i hear they truly bring the souls games back to what they should be.
>want to make a darkwraith build in DS1
>pvp/invasions is probably dead
>still have to kill sif and 4kings and donate all the humanity to kaathe
>want to make a darkwraith build in DS2
>have to farm for the drakekeeper sword
>no dark hand
>all i really want to do is play dark souls 3
I was just watching the cleric gameplay in the OP on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sjf4qeimYc and I noticed around the 13:20 mark when he's fighting the fat guy that the hitboxes are indeed just as perfect as the ones in Bloodborne.
Thank gor for this. I would drop the game hard if we wen't back to dark souls 2's abomination.
I agree with you. I really enjoy the chaotic nature of invasions but yet these retards simply cannot understand that it's called an INVASION, not a DUEL. I'd much rather have the freedom we had in DeS instead of this padded out bullshit they are pulling off because some random retard got his ass handed out to him by someone who probably wasn't even a twink and went online to cry about it.
Casuals really do ruin everything they touch.
You forgot the part where every magic type has a beam spell. Miracles have lightning bolts, hexes have black magic projectiles and sorcery has blue ones.
The main difference is that sorcery has a lot of utility spells like reduction of fall damage and stuff like that.
Played the Network test and it really felt like DS2 atmosphere plus the graphics and "fast" movement odmf DeS. Hope they bring more fantasy elements and just weird stuff instead of the stuff they try with DaS2. But the whole theme, you turning with an item into a faded ember, only makes me think in something that is losing that glorious bright fire of yore.
Oh yeah, that ember. I'm not really sure how I feel about it. It's really looking like an "easy mode".
If the invasion system remains as shitty as it is on the test as well as these embers, I'm afraid they're pandering to casuals.
I haven't seen much gameplay yet, but I'm guessing they're going back to the roll dodge as opposed to side-stepping? Not sure how I feel about that, really liked it in BB. Still hyped af though.
Nah, it's just the usual mechanic of punishing you for your death since DeS with Stone of Ephemeral Eyes. They keep pushing that meme of "hardest game ever". What I dont like is how the character looks.
Some bullshit unbalanced sword art, whatever ring that reduces sword art mana consumption, a stupid looking helmet that increases mana, and whatever enchantment that does the most damage.
It's probably this
Hold your god damn panic you retards. Lord Of Cinder buff is basically just the same as being in human form in Demon's Souls. They already had shit like this with the health degradation and Soul/Human form in DeS.
Wake and bake followed by a relaxed blowjob from my girlfriend while we lounge on the couch. Nachos and beer for lunch along with a refresher bowl of weed to keep the buzz going. Videogames all afternoon of varying kinds before having Kalamari and Lamb on Rice for dinner. More beer and weed as the evening goes on. Fuck my girlfriend then cuddle and watch a movie or some TV shows on Netflix.
I've never played a Souls game before, does /v/ think that III would be a good place to start?
No. Play the full series starting with the first one. I guess if you're a huge casual and don't really care much, you could probably get away with playing any one of them as a standalone experience, but I think you'd enjoy that less.
Ideally you'd play them in this order:
>Dark Souls 2
>Dark Souls 3
>Demons Souls after anything
You need more insight, faggot.
Also, now that the ash has settled, what does /v/ think of DS2?
My experience with it is limited entirely to
Matthewmatosis's review and knowing that the graphics were downgraded.
>bloodborne's biggest secret is kept actual secret even if you watch all gameplay vids
>this entire game is already basically spoiled and there won't be any surprises outside of some aesthetics
It's for the hardcore enthusiast of the series. It's the smallest game with the most flaws and least balanced content. I wouldn't blame somebody if they didn't get pulled into DeS. I'm not sure I'd respond the same way if they had trouble getting into DaS.
Now that SotFS is around, I think it's gone from good to great.
Actually, I do have a girlfriend. We often spend our weekends like that, though without the idealized food menu.
I don't know, Demon's Souls was my first souls game and it's fucking amazing. I'd start with that.
On the other hand, my first character was a magic build so it was really easy to cheese stuff.
>hardcore enthusiasts of the series
>confirmed for playing it after DaS
>still thinks he knows what it is to have played them chronologically
Kill yourself, faggot.
It's fine as a first experience, nothing stopping you from enjoying the fuck out of it. But it's weakest of the series on an objective level and it's also not terribly accessible from a purchasing/accessing/playing standpoint what with it being exclusive for a last gen console.
>On the other hand, my first character was a magic build so it was really easy to cheese stuff.
That's part of the problem though. DeS isn't balanced. It's really easy to just breeze it with a magic build or something. Most of the bosses are boring gimmicks rather than interesting combat encounters. It's not as good. I enjoyed it as a followup to DaS1 after I'd decided I liked the series. It was inferior in almost every respect and I was honestly pretty let down by it overall. It's not worth prioritizing.
DaS2:SotFS beats it out easily.
Eat shit fanboy.
>Jap devs commenting on the PC version
>Expecting good ports
PC version will look and run best no matter what. Don't be retarded though. It's gonna be a typical Fromsoft PC port.
>implying I'm not a bigger Souls fan than you
I bet you I've played more hours and more versions of the games than you. I've beaten DaS1/2 on PC/PS3/360. I've played unpatched DaS2 and DaS1. I've beaten DeS tons of times. I've logged 2k hours in Bloodborne. The only versions of a Souls game I haven't played is
Chinese Import Demon's Souls and Unpatched Demon's Souls.
>No Man's Sky
Man, 2016 is going to be a hell of a year.
Who here is actually excited for video games for the first time in a while?
>implying it hasn't been great for 5 years
There's been amazing releases on a regular basis for a long time. Must suck being a horrible cynic or not being idort. One of the most complained about years in gaming had a couple of my favorite games ever.
2014 was terrible for games, but 2015 was the best since 2007, and that was the best since 1998.
God damn, what if the last generation's failures have kicked developers into high gear? What if that's why we're getting so many games?
Even Assassin's Creed is getting great. Imagine that.
>implying I'm not a Wii U owner
I really disliked SM4SH, and Mario Kart 8 was pretty much the only other thing I was interested in - it definitely met/exceeded expectations, but a party game can only carry me so far.
My favorite game of 2014 was Alien: Isolation, but outside of that it was... boring. There were a few good games, but almost no great ones.
But damn, it feels good to own all the consoles in this generation now that it's going strong.
>Bayonetta fucking 2
>Hyrule Warriors if that's your thing.
I can't see your argument bro. DK was probably one of the best platformers I've ever played and Bayonetta 2... well that's a special wet dream surrealistic sort of "is this even real!?" sort of situation for me. I value it HIGHLY. I still remember when Platinum devs joked about B2 as if it was "NEVEREVER" status. Pic related of course.
>But damn, it feels good to own all the consoles in this generation now that it's going strong.
Just started playing through it this week. I like the torch mechanics but you can still see the lighting downgrades. Combat feels clunky as hell, especially after playing BB. Some of the armor is atrocious. Level design isn't as great as the other games. Soul memory seems like a shitty mechanic that punishes co-op rather than it's original intentions.
>muh loyalty to From Software
>muh shit taste
>muh will to reply a shitpost
>that I was interested in
I just wasn't into the first Bayonetta so I never tried the second and Hyrule Warriors just isn't my speed. They both could be great, but since I'm a self-centered asshole I judge the quality of a year on what I liked.
I forgot about Tropical Freeze, though, that game was the shit. Never beat it, but the first few worlds are beautiful and fun.
I don't know, man, I have yet to believe that it is coming to NX, and that's the only reason that it'd get delayed.
As for why we haven't seen any footage, I think they Nintendo is trying to make E3 2016 as good as they can and they're just holding off on footage so they don't pull another E3 2015 - you know, blowing their load through Directs earlier in the year so their E3 presentation was disappointing.
Demon's Souls also gave you a 20% damage boost as an invader using the Foe's Ring, and another 20% for having pure black character tendency as a black phantom to make up for itAlthough I'm not sure that one actually works, the wiki says it exists but the damage difference between wearing the foe ring and not is really noticeable but I never really noticed my damage going up as my character tendency darkens.
And all we actually know about DaS3 is that hosts are likely to have an HP advantage, and in the network test it had Bloodborne style ganks-only invading. Its too early to call invading dead, but looking at the direction they've been going since Dark Souls 1 concern is definitely appropriate.
I was beginning to worry i didn't like vidia anymore
All i bught was MGS5 and some indie shit this year
But then i realized, literally nothing good came out this year
meanwhile in 2016
>Street fighter V
2016 was a fucking trash
what a fucking buzzword, if anything, the combat was a little more restrictive while you attacked. Much less tracking on your attacks, specially in heavy weapons, rolling attacks don't track the same way they do in Bloodborne (Try going to DS2 after playing with BoM in Bloodborne), and polearms having sweetspots. But I don't mind these changes, it makes it different than the others and forced me to git gud when using weapons. I also like that I can roll towards any direction instead of the 8-way DS1 and BB have. None of the things you say were actually bad (at worse mediocre), the only really shit things about DS2 were Soul Memory, enemy depopulation (which you can get around), and how confusing some covenants could be.
I'm currently debating this as well but only due to hackers.
I can't stand PC's shit with these fucking cheat engine kiddies ruining everything. Dark Souls 1 on pc was disgracefully unbearing due to this.
I'm thinking about going PC first since I never summon on my first playthrough and then imediately jump to the ps4 version so I can deal with an actually healthy online.
People who use cheat engine are genuinely pathetic.
>And all we actually know about DaS3 is that hosts are likely to have an HP advantage
And just like in BB, it's not that big of a deal.
> the network test it had Bloodborne style ganks-only invading
I know. I've played the test and I played lots of BB.
>Its too early to call invading dead, but looking at the direction they've been going since Dark Souls 1 concern is definitely appropriate.
It'll be fine. Really. I wouldn't worry about it. So long as the enemies are passive to the host and you can knock people off cliffs or hit them while they're fighting enemies, invasions will be viable and fun. I had a lot of fun in DaS3 invading during the test. I often was victorious and even if I wasn't. It was pretty intense stuff. You do know that invaders recover esutsu for killing players right? Like I was able to nuke a whole squad because I kept regenerating estus after each kill?
>scrub shitters still complain about backstabs
It's not a matter of getting gud, it's about combat revolving around one movement being boring as fuck. Literally, there's no variants in strategy besides get behind and backstab and chain backstab
>First time on Dark Souls
>Killed the 4 Kings
>Killed then Light Butterfly
>Killed then Sif
>Almost killed Gravelord Nito before knowing that I had to kill Capra Demon first
This shit needs a map dude
>Is Danganronpa 3 coming this year?
ZERO ESCAPE 3 MOTHERFUCKER.
Yeah I did
>This place is kicking my shit
>Move to another place
>Place is kicking my shit too
>Move to another place
I returned a lot of times to the ruins of new londo, killed the guy to get the key to lower the water, died in the fucking tower, and moved to the forest to kill shit before I could return with the ring
Has anything looked promising from what we've seen? It's already off my radar after watching the demos and trailers, just seems like a cash in with no ambition or vision in it.
so you were consistently exploring and progressing through the game, beating bosses and making progress, and beat the game in a reasonable amount of time.
why did you need a map.
Because feeling lost is a shitty fucking feeling man. It's not about progressing or not it's about feeling like you're wasting your time doing jack fucking shit for no other reason than "muh hard game must be harrrd"
>hitboxes are engine related
>implying Bloodborne didn't had weird hitboxes at times
DS2 had a lot of shit hitboxes, but there were many times they were on point. Considering you can dodge shit with Prostration emote, I've had enemies whiff attack simply because my character was on "prone" position.
It's the team from Human Revolution actually getting the budget and time they asked for in order to create a game that fits their vision of what a Deus Ex game should be.
If you liked HR, MD is that on steroids times 10.
I can't wait for more generic humanoid knight bosses and bosses with adds!
It's going to be so fun!!
>Giving a shit about network test classes.
>big humanoid knight crawling on all fours
>big humanoid knight with a mace that breathes ice
>big generic uninspired ent monster
>most enemies shown so far are generic zombies/knights
Sure looks good!
Will this be the one Souls game where magic isn't complete shit in PvP?
>It's the team from Human Revolution actually getting the budget and time they asked for in order to create a game that fits their vision
have they said this?
The thing that bothered me about the trailers and demo is that the villain just looks bland and it's the same look and main character of HR. The story also seems blunt as fuck with the "subhumans" getting divided and eventually starting a communist like revolution, just like we've seen time and time again in other games, hell, even the villain is russian.
I hope I'm wrong and the game turns out well, the fact that illuminati seems to have a more central role judging from the trailer has peaked my curiosity, but from what I've seen so far it really feels just like a straight sequel, a Human Revolution 1.5 instead of a true Deus Ex sequel.
I decided to reinstall DS1 and build my classic lvl 1 dickwraith for ganking new players in the Burg. Then I found out online is dead and I couldn't find someone to invade no matter where I tried it.
All of those hours put to waste. Shit was hard, man.
DaS 1 could have been a tad more clear on direction, but at the same time I feel like it was pretty fair. For example, people always complain about the Catacombs but if you talk to the guy who you're plopped right in front of, he's like "go up those stairs over there." The thing is, there isn't a specific order you're supposed to do things. If you get through it and can't progress further (Catacombs, Door to Sen's Fortress, Sealed Door in [The Forest], etc..) it's usually accompanied by information hinting why that is and you're able to realize "oh, I should do something else and come back later."
So again, it could be a tad better but I still enjoyed not being babbied like a lot of games.
I have to wonder how strong of vidya you people have to take a hit from to get a high anymore.
>Game with medieval setting has knight bosses
>DS2 movement felt slow and stiff as fuck ruining the game for me
>DS3 looks like its movement is going to be a combination of bloodborne and demons
That's all I could have asked for so I'm already sold.
the bosses in DaS1 were also quite large desu.
>Asylum Demon/Demon Firesage
>huge obese guy, and oversized lancer guy
>a motherfucking Hydra
>bed of chaos...some weird giant tree. (also bullshit and poor design)
>Quelaag, giant half spider demon woman
>4 huge ghost kings
>A couple of full sized dragons, Seath in particular being huge
>Sif (colossal wolf)
>Giant centipede + lava
>Giant humanoid dragon girl Priscilla
>Artorias (oversized knight)
This franchise always features huge bosses. Even the "humanoids" are oversized as bosses.
>being a fan is the same as being a fanboy
>being honest about not only the mechanical depth but unfriendly features like item burden and world tendency.
The only fanboy is you. The one who can't view his favorite objectively.
Eh, I'm cautiously optimistic. I'm not hyped for it because I'm not making the same mistake I did going into DaS2. Yeah, it *looks* like they're fixing the mistakes of DaS2, but who knows what they might fuck up on this time that we're not even aware they could fuck up. Only time will tell how good this one is
Only game that does it for me anymore is Monster Hunter.
It's like crack to me.
Outside of atmosphere and transforming weapons it was just a Souls re-skin at it's core.
I think most people convince themselves it's more than it is because they bought PS4s for it. I bought a PS4 for other games so I wasn't overhyping BB.
i never look up shit my first playthrough, i even stop watching these vids sometimes if i feel it reveals too much.
only timei look stuff up is when i want to do a troll build in pvp and want to know where to get items.
>DaS2 goes full 60fps on PC.
>actions are still frame-based even though each frame lasts half as long
>effectively only have half as much invincibility window at 60fps and keep getting hit by le shockwaves
There should be a covenant for specifically lynching mages.
Please tell me they wont bring back summon dependant NPC quests in DaS3.
Lucatiel was fucking bullshit. Every time I tried to summon her a fight the boss would only target her and she'd die super fucking quick.

Are you retarded anon, this year is gonna be fucking insane.
>they'll put their most interesting enemy designs in the demos and previews!
why do you think this
you could fault DeS and DaS for the same shit if you only looked at 1-1 and the 'burg
That would be fucking glorious.
It's really a shame that magic is so shit. Even when it's overpowered, it's still always the same thing. Projectile spam. Different types of projectiles, but projectiles nonetheless. Doing a magic build in DaS was the most boring way to play the game. Literally all you do is run away and then shoot magic the entire time.
I'd like to see them retool magic into something else so that it's not just projectile bullshit. More stuff along the lines of the magic greatsword would be cool. Make magic unique and interesting without being the playstyle of scrubs who just run away and shoot magic and rely on lag
>Functionally and aesthetically interesting weapons (Stake Driver master race reporting in)
>Took away shields and quicker pace of combat
Those are my main reasons for loving it off the top of my head.
>People still complaining about backstabs
This wouldn't be a problem if you'd bother learning how to counter it.
I've watched people complain about being backstabbed when the other guy is very obviously fishing for it for like 3 minutes.
Is it that hard to figure out what your opponent is trying to do when he's constantly trying to strafe around you?
yeah nah. thats not how it works. the driver of the truck is going to have to pay the cost of the sheep and the projected profits of them that was lost due to the incident as well.
all because mr "my job makes me pee in a cup instead of stopping" wanted to save 5-10 mins of his time.
Thats an unhealthy amount of weebshit to be playing anon.
You still haven't explained how the shepherd wasn't at fault for having his flock stand around in the middle of a road
>Stake Driver Master race reporting in
I want to love the Stake Driver, anon, I really do, but outside of normal enemies and slow bosses that shit is ass. Try fighting Ludwig and getting consistent damage in, you're in for 20 minutes of dodge attacks and 90% of them will miss completely.
Couldn't care less, I love Japanese games.
Lets see your shit taste so we can laugh you then, coward.
I have to wonder how high of a pedestal you put this game on. At least the other anon is grounded, and not blinded by fanboyism.
BB really was nothing special outside of it's 10/10 atmosphere and aesthetic.
So interesting game mechanics combined with an interesting atmosphere of a genre not usually done well in vidya isnt at least something special?
What would you qualify as "better than decent" then?
Because its standard procedure to move livestock across the highway when the highway cuts through your fields? The driver did not attempt to slow down or anything and he put even the shepherd at risk. It's a clear cut case of reckless driving.
Yeah if there were more than half a dozen weapons. I know there are more now with the expansion, but I haven't gone back to play it. I got bored with BB just after the AYY boss.
I still think the atmosphere is stellar, but for me that's really all there was. The fast paced combat is great, but it's just sidestepping taking the place of rolling.
I never said it was perfect godhood 10/10, im just mystified by /v/'s rating scale of "GOAT perfect or meh or abysmal"
Its unhealthy to be that cynical.
I already said the atmosphere was goat. The weapon transformation is not enough to make this game spectacular. Parrying is broken as fuck too. I was able to just literally stand still and parry BSB to death.
Magic in DaS1 is boring as fuck
Magic in DaS2 and BB is Fun Mode.
>Parrying people with Augur
>Nuking people with ACB
>Chamaleon spell that's actually tricky (turns you into a Message)
>Punking people with Lingering Flame and Flame Swathe
>Actual fireballs like in Demon's Souls, lobbying a miniature sun at people
>Lifedrain Patch, baiting people with Dead Again.
>Madara Whistle shenanigans
>Soul Greatsword (which is coming back)
I hope it carries on to DaS3.
>Its unhealthy to be that cynical
How is saying it's nothing special cynical?
It's literally a reskinned Souls game.
I'll fucking say it AGAIN. Outside of atmosphere it was nothing special.
I didn't say it was outright shit, I'm just saying it's an alright game, but not GOTYAY like most people claim.
Is it really that hard for you to accept differing opinions?
Im just discussing anon. Take a chill pill.
>I never said it was perfect godhood 10/10
Yet you claim anyone who thinks otherwise is being cynical, and you were initially blown away that this game didn't give someone some sort of a euphoric high, likening vidya to LMAO WEED.
actually the law varies but where i live you do not need a sign if the sheep can be seen from 300 meters away.
Also the driver was speeding and on the wrong side of the road... i understand /v/ likes to be contrarian but you are going full retard now.
I also got bored with it and only got back into it when the dlc came out and I finished the dlc and the main game.
I had so much trouble getting motivated to finish the game because the environments are mostly really samey and the bosses went to shit after Bloodstarved Beast and only got better with Mergo's Wetnurse, Gehrman and DLC bosses.
I'm glad it's looking more like DeS. Fuck DaS1 and DaS2, those games are slow as fuck.
>No Man's Sky
>Doom (I have hope)
>Squadron 42 (Don't laugh, it could happen)
>The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine
>Dragon's Dogma PC
>Dying Light: The Following
>Star Fox Zero
I got lots of shit to be excited for.
I don't understand why anyone is excited for this game
just go play Dark Souls 1 again
it's literally the same game
30fps and all
>Zero Escape 3 will come out in japan first even though they hate the series
>It will be spoiled all over /v/ before I get a chance to play it
I can't understand such an argument. The reason people buy sequels is because they want more of the same. DeS, DaS1, DaS2 and BB are already very different as they are that you have people shitposting about which one is "better".
The whole industry is a huge cash grab, you self righteous nerd.
>that roll speed in armour
WE DEMON'S SOULS NOW
>implying youre not the overly defensive hostile faggots in this situation
Like or dislike a game, but to claim there is nothing special here is overly dismissive of its unique parts.
Take Deadly Premonition. Sure, thats a bad game, but to claim there isnt something special there is put it next to functional, gray-brown shooters of the "eh' genre.
That was my claim, you worthless shitposters.
>With passion and love!!!
Guy, come on. The instant something has a price tag it means they want your money.
What are you guys gonna be rolling on release?
not some shitter magic build I hope
I really, really hope the shit-posting for Dark Souls 3 manages to transcend Bloodborne posting circa January-February 2015.
Anybody else revving up for it?
>calling others overly defensive hostile faggots while being one yourself
The game was nothing special, and DP was only liked by people for being similar to Twin Peaks in atmosphere. So both games only excelled in atmosphere.
Its not exclusive to anything, so no.
Sonyggers cant NEVER EVER and everybody else cant claim they only like it because "They have to, its the only game they have!"
Fucking kek, and people honestly try and claim DaS1 had the best PvP. What a pile of shit.
Goddamn, I don't really know! I want to play around will a off the stuff that's been shown. Axes look fun, maces look fun, Greatswords look fun. I wish there was something about Pyromancy so I can make up my mind.
>PC bros are pretty bad.
There is literally nothing wrong with PCbros in the Souls fandom.
so tell us what game you'll be playing instead, kind anon
>fully colored phantoms are back
DeS phantoms looked like phantoms, Bloodborne players had only a slight hue to not completely ruin outfit aesthetics. I hate the fullbright monotone colors DaS and DaS2 has.
>Using DaS's old item/equipment interface
why? Do they really need to show you what sword/shield you have equipped? cut those out and just keep Item/Active spell up top like BB had it.
I dont know you tell me: >>323366360
>I dont know you tell me:
PROTIP: It was you.
>HURRR STUPID FUCKING HOSTILE FAGGOT STOP DISLIKING WHAT I LIKE IT'S THE BEST GAME EVER STUPID OVERLY DEFENSIVE HOSTILE FAGGOTS REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>but to claim there isnt something special there
It's the atmosphere, and the fact it rips off Twin Peaks.
Doesn't make it a good game, just means it has great atmosphere. Like Bloodborne.
Just stay off /v/.
You can manage that, right?
>summoning for Sinh
I just wanna invade niggers and get fanmail.
I want unlimited invasions, I don't care if it lets them summon the cops to help them, because when you win a 1v2+ you get the right to shit on them for eternity
I have nowhere else to go for interaction with other humans
I'm doing that right now. Iron passage followed by a 2nd smelter demon fight was infuriating as fuck, the rooms where you have to drop down to fight multiple skeletons and those giant club swinging things that spit fire from their shoulders was also just tedious, not fun.
Currently trying to beat Fume knight and dying over and over again trying to roll sideways through the horizontal and varying swings which he sometiems delays just isn't fun to me.
Souls games are fun when you're having your shield up, moving slowly through the environment, watching for traps and keeping track of your footing. Then after a long ass walk you're starting to get paranoid, because you're sitting on lots of souls and you're just waiting to find the next bonfire. Or when you've gone a long way and gone far far into the dungeon, and then that giant fog door comes and you have to go up against the boss, and so much is at stake because you've spent so much time getting there and again, you're carrying a lot of precious souls.
Then the boss fight starts, and if you focus enough and stay vigilant, you can beat it in the first try. That's what I got a lot from Demon's souls, and in some parts of Dark souls.
I'd argue that this game is too hard and not engaging because of it. Inb4 git gud.
I'm going in with ZERO expectations. I've only skimmed through a few videos. I'm not going to look at any more. I don't even know when it's coming out, and I don't care. I'll just happen upon it and buy it whenever I see it available. No hype allowed.
I'm not making the same mistake I did with 2.
I really hope the "starting classes" aren't as shit as Dark Souls 2.
>Warrior has a shit weapon
>Knight has no shield
>Cleric can't one hand his mace
>Swordsman gets two good weapons already upgraded
>Sorcerer isn't bad or good
I don;t hate DS2 but what the fuck where they going on about?
So how does this new weapon arts system work? Im not exactly clear on the specifics.
It was just boring to me. I dropped it a few hours in and picked up another game. I didn't do that for DeS or DaS.
I don't hate it, I was just letdown because I over-hyped it for myself.
If I were to criticize it I'd say that it really focuses on quantity over quality.
Yeah, lets replace them with perks instead.
As he said, it would make the starting class mean something. As in, you wouldn't pick one class to breeze through the beginning, and then level up to whatever class you actually want to play as.
Not sure how I feel about it though.
They could bring back the slow reduction of max health seen in DeS and DaS II.
boring cramped environments filled with mobs
most enemies and bosses are generic humanoid design
bullshit pandering like black ornstein and stupid shit like the old women at the start saying you'll die alot bcuz lol so hardcore gaem
shit story with even more pandering to the first game
>implying new players have any idea of what build will suit them before playing.
Being able to flexibly level into the type of character you want is a positive design decision. Why would we take that away?
They should, it should be a permanent sl1 no upgrade run for everyone who plays. Only the strong and skilled will ever beat the game. Will be a true game that set's apart the men from the boys
>boring cramped environments
Disagree with this.
The covenant is currently the best of any Souls series, Bloodborne included.
The area is far more versatile, unique, and it have more complex levels compared to other Souls game.
Most enemies in Dark Souls is humanoid enemies.
>and bosses are generic humanoid design
Percentage wise, DaS actually have more humanoid bosses compared to DaS2.
I hope they really rework covenents. There's no need for so many. 3 groups in a rock/paper/scissor fashion is so much better than 8 groups where 2 have 80% of the player base and 5 are useless.
>The area is far more versatile, unique, and it have more complex levels compared to other Souls game.
You're shitting me right?
Every area is claustrophobic as fuck, and even outdoor areas are designated hallways.
We're talking about 2, not 1.
>The area is far more versatile, unique, and it have more complex levels compared to other Souls game.
Yeah going from a swamp up a long elevator to a lava pit really makes sense.
>tfw DS3 shitposting will never be as bad as pre-release Bloodborne
was a truly wonderful time
Pretty sure that the only areas in DS1 that's not hallways is the two forests, and New Londo after the drain. Everything else feels really cramped, even more than DS2.at time. It's just how the games have always been.
>Every area is claustrophobic as fuck, and even outdoor areas are designated hallways.
Not every area anon.
>Yeah going from a swamp up a long elevator to a lava pit really makes sense.
Were talking about level design, gameplay wise anon.
Not >muh immersion.
I do it all the time, especially on bosses, when they do an attack and you're standing behind them yet still get hit.
I love Bloodborne but sometimes the hitboxes turns out to be much bigger than what you'd expect.
