I was pretty impressed with the Animation honestly. They understood people who watched it where people who played the game, so a lot of the Animation focuses on the characters in situations that the game doesn't show them in.

It's not really 'lore accurate' but it's very faithful to the game as well as entertaining in its own right. Particular shout out to how they depict Nanako's death and the reactions by the main character and the translation of the Margret vs. MC fight into a story aspect

I ended up watching the anime first as hearing about the franchise for the first time was the bitches and whores meme so I was already spoilt

When I finally played Golden years later I still loved it
