>PC Gamer: Between this release and Dragon’s Dogma Online, it seems like the series still means a lot to Capcom—where is Capcom at in terms of considering a sequel?
>Matsukawa: Thanks for your interest in the series! The Dragon’s Dogma development team members often talk about the possibility of a sequel. We’d love to hear the opinions and feedback from players of the upcoming PC port of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, as that will increase the chances that we can look into the possibility of continuing the series.
What games to play while we wait for the release?
This will be the second time for me but it's still a terrible feel
Dunno about Anno and Doom but Fallout is clearly a case of constantly aiming towards consoles for bigger market. Any remote semblance of knowledge on FO4 changes would tell you this.
PC may not save a console franchise (except VC cause it literally just did), but consoles are clearly killing franchises.
I'm an idort, but PC is considerably stronger than it was 10 years ago.. unlike consoles that have much fewer exclusives nowadays and more competition in form of mobile devices.
Hopefully they'll take their time with it. They've been developing DDO and DA simultaneously after DD released so with the PC release of Dark Arisen out of the way they can move fully onto DD2 development (if it's already in development and also ignoring a small subdivision of the team who will most likely handle future DDO content).
>Dunno about Anno and Doom
Anno, got easier and Doom 4 has so much red flags it's not even funny (slow, kill cams, ammo on foes...).
>but Fallout is clearly a case of constantly aiming towards consoles for bigger market. Any remote semblance of knowledge on FO4 changes would tell you this.
Are you really saying that the dumbing down is due to console players ?
>PC may not save a console franchise (except VC cause it literally just did), but consoles are clearly killing franchises.
It kill franchises in what way? Because consoles are still there. New exclusives are still coming. Sorry, but nothing dies because it was not ported to PC.
>I'm an idort, but PC is considerably stronger than it was 10 years ago..
Thanks to Steam and multiplats.
>unlike consoles that have much fewer exclusives nowadays
Uh, no. PC exclusives are fucking Indies and mobas. Genres native to PC are dead (STR, god games, tycoon, C-rpg...)
>and more competition in form of mobile devices.
Consoles and mobiles are not in competition.
>Are you really saying that the dumbing down is due to console players ?
They literally admit it during interviews of Skyrim and FO4. Oblivion was the last time they tried to get away with it without flat out spoon feeding you the words. Can you not Google?
>It kill franchises in what way?
Um, it kills the franchise by killing it? You're literally saying because new franchises come out it's okay to kill existing ones.
>If you buy this re-release, we might consider making a sequel
Why do they keep doing this?
Probing market interest. I guess it makes sense but it's a mean way to do it.
I don't mind though, I already bought it and looking forward to playing it again for the dozenth time.
Seems like the lesson to take here is not to buy games on their initial release, because it's going to be the multi-plat expansion re-release that will decide if the game is successful enough for a sequel.
>next month is gonna filled with threads how DD is the best game ever made and epic memes out of the ass
sasuga PC audience.
>They literally admit it during interviews of Skyrim and FO4. Oblivion was the last time they tried to get away with it without flat out spoon feeding you the words. Can you not Google?
I can use Google, but I don't care about interviews. You will have to show me one where devs said "Sorry, we remove the RPG parts of F4 because console players are idiots".
>Um, it kills the franchise by killing it? You're literally saying because new franchises come out it's okay to kill existing ones.
You are really a special kind of idiot. Can I adopt you ?
The keywords you want are streamlined, voice acting, and GTA.
I also like how you have to resort to attacks instead of realizing you were equally as vague and acting all pompous. I treated you like you would yourself don't be a little bitch for once in your life.
>The keywords you want are streamlined, voice acting, and GTA.
-GTA is not console specific.
-Voice acting is not either.
>I also like how you have to resort to attacks instead of realizing you were equally as vague and acting all pompous. I treated you like you would yourself don't be a little bitch for once in your life.
Because you are another moron spoutting that consoles kill the industry when it's not true. You can now go fuck yourself.
Well, the have the base material and some free time. It's pretty much extra money on hobby work.
That or they're so desperate for money, this is a last ditch effort to get some free cash.
Because porting to pc is easy and it'll sit on there making money, no matter how minimal for years. Capcom has chumpchange in the bank right now so every bit helps, and they certainly can't burning any bridges
>tfw no more wind pushing
>All of Dark Souls memeshit happened months before the PC release.
>Giant Dad was created on a 360.
The 'LEGEND NEVER DIES XD' didn't though.
what the fuck am I reading? do you even follow video games news you dick sucking faggots?
it's a 360 port using MT Framework engine - it's probably gonna be more demanding than RE5/6 was but if you can run those than you can probably run this at an acceptable level.
>Hold sequel hostage unless PC sales are satisfactory
>Capcom's retarded expectations mixed with Steam users never buying games unless they're discounted at 90% off
We'll never get a sequel, will we?
Yeah, and Darkstalkers is not dead, DMC4:SE helped DMC5, MML3 just needed more fan support, etc.
They are just saying it so fans drop some extra bucks for them without the need for them to do anything, like Capcom always does.
>post yfw Capcom shoehorns in 'Into Free' during a secret PC-exclusive boss fight.
It goes without saying that popular and successful things get sequels. The quote in the OP is like Capcom confirming that water is wet. If Dragon's Dogma had flopped as hard as MML2 they wouldn't even be talking about it, much less porting it to other platforms
>as that will increase the chances that we can look into the possibility of continuing the series.
they can go fuck themselves, porting the games a thousand years later and then saying "m-maybe if you buy it en masse and tell us how much you love it we will maybe make another one on consoles and then give you the 7k port 6 years l-later, h-hehe"
I'm going to pirate every single game on this fucking planet until developers release them DAY FUCKING ONE on pc as well, I'm not a fucking jester, I'm a costumer, and if I pay for your shit it has got to be in fucking line with the rest of the costumers, I'm not a special snowflake that accepts being treated like a retard, I hope it bombs and capcom dies like that pathetic cash grab that is DD Online
What are the downsides of being in combat stance 24/7? Stamina doesn't seem to regenerate faster.
>release same game 3 times
>people don't buy it 3 times because they are fucking mad that it isn't a sequel
>guess nobody wants a sequel :^)
Reminds me that the chick who sung that theme also sung Dragon's Dogma's theme.
ONLY ON XBOX ONE
I'm buying it solely because they didn't fuck over Canada too hard because of the low dollar. I've said it before but there comes a point where people don't give a rats god damn ass how the dollar is doing. You either sell it for 60 in Canada and in the US or fuck off. Everyone I've talked to just doesn't feel like buying games anymore because they're too expensive to be worth a purchase regardless of conversion which seems to be a concept that game devs/pubs really struggle to understand.
