This is what I've been trying to do. Is there really no other way to play combat without getting demolished? This super defensive shit is a letdown.

I'm cool with skilled dodging (I love Viewtiful Joe) but when it's time to attack I feel like I have no other option other than to use quen.

In 2 it was just a straight stun, no questions asked, that usually even worked on boss characters
Now it's just a shitty slow, they even made it mandatory to use vs ghosts so you'd be forced to use it every so often

Invest points into Igni, faggot. You'll breeze through the game. Igni has a burning effect that makes 98% of enemies stop fighting and writhe around in agony. In addition to humans, it works on nearly every monster, including draconids.

igni is great, but he's gonna need to toughen up to beat monsters/bosses that aren't affected by it. learning how to actually fight with a sword will be important

Are you playing deathmarch? The beginning is the hardest, as you level up and progress i you will gain abilities that completely trivialize all enemies. I suggest Quen+Axii+Fast Attack build if you're shit at dodging. Otherwise go full Sword dps if you can dodge and spam away.

Invest in Igni and the put everything else into building up quick attack. Any enemy not effected by Igni, you can just hit with your sword.
