Bungie has been working on Destiny 2 since the launch of the first game. The DLC that has been sold already was more or less already completed prior the game's release, but was cut by suggestion of Activison in order to be sold later.

No more DLC is planned and the only thing we will be getting are more events much like SRL. Destiny 2 will probably release Fall this year.

tl;dr: In short, Activison sold us the original game in pieces while Bungie put in most of their work on the second game.
