I'd probably say that the Gamecube had the best selection of games of various different genres, it also got a few classic Dreamcast games, like the Sonic Adventures and Skies of Arcadia. It had Melee and the best version of Resident Evil 4 for that generation.

PS2 though had so many classics too. The MGS games for a start, GTA 3 to San Andreas plus just a huge library in general.

The Dreamcast was ahead of its time and had a lot of classic games, like Shenmue, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Power Stone etc etc. It also has a massive influx of obscure Japanese games, although overall I think its quality catalogue is smaller that the PS2 or Gamecube.

So, in conclusion... fuck if I know... Gamecube?

the ps2 had that library, but it's exclusives were either hit or miss. The gamecube had a limited library, but the best exclusives. The xbox had the definitive version of console exclusives, but a short list of exclusives it could call it's own, although they were some of the best exclusives of the 6th gen.

The dreamcast i barely consider 6th gen. but it still managed to compete with other 6th gen consoles despite it's sales and hardware. also had really great exclusives and homebrew scene that still makes games for it today.

The PS2 was fucking garbage. ICO, Colossus and Okami weren't that great. Metal Gear was probably the only reason to own one, but the series had already started to go to shit. Xbox/GC had better exclusives (sme of them poached from the DC) and better graphics.

Xbox had the best multiplats and some pretty fucking awesome exclusives mixed with some stellar PC titles and carried on some aspects of the Segas legacy

Dreamcast had the most experimental pioneering Japanese library of all with plenty of revered games

PS2 was generally just classics upon classics, its self explanatory

GameCube was amazing, the most refined and best versions of the Nintendo titles that you can think and even had quite a bit of third party support.

PS2. Aside from doing LAN Halo stuff with my school pals. I never really used my xbox for anything aside from Fable.

My Gamecube was stolen the day I bought it during a house break in while I was at school (bought REmake and Animal Crossing for it)

PS2 is where i did 90% of my teen gaming.. lots of JRPGs, coop ARPGs with my brother. A lot of Duelists of the Roses! Harvest Moonm playing my PS1 games, mostly Chrono Cross and RE:Nemesis.. Could go on.. It just had games that interested me more than Xbox. Never really cared for the nintendies games either so losing the Gamecube hurt, cos I slaved at a paper route for weeks to buy it. But I never really missed it. Still have not played REmake to this day.

Don't own a modern console, just waiting on the last 300 bucks I need to finish my new build so I can start playing videogames again that werent made when I was a child.
