It has the exact same properties of any energy sword you would describe, but just because it's not a lightsaber clone it's not an energy sword? I'll say again, the only reason it's as powerful as it is, is because it's a sword empowered with energy. It's not just some random normal metal sword. The point of an energy weapon is that the energy itself is the main cause of harm. A chainsaw and a vibroblade are powered by energy, but the harm is still caused by the metal blade/chain.
