I played TF2 for like 3 hours last night. I don't know why Valve did the things they did in the last patch.

Not fond of these, melee seems to have gotten nerfed a bit much for the classes that needed it to be effective in certain points

This I kind of understand, but I think it was a bit too much. The increased airblast cost or the even lower afterburn damage alone would be acceptable to stop it from being a clear upgrade, but not both.
The change melee pullout speed really frustrates me because it's slower to puff someone into a corner and melee them. Maybe it's just that I'm bad at aiming with my gun that I rely on melee in that case. Pyro wasn't effective in comp before, as far as I'm aware, and certainly can't be in any better shape now.

I mean, sure, now Valve doesn't seem to love them quite as much but they also seem to have done this just so people stop using both a shield and the booties at the same time. Now they can't just kill a soldier or a medic with a properly timed crit from a charge

no crits and less healing, I guess someone at valve was butthurt. What's so difficult about moving away from a soldier or demo using it? It's a weapon that preys on bad positioning
