but yes in games like CS:GO I have the mic disabled in casual because I don't want to hear 12 year olds or retarded dudebros talking about shit I don't want to hear.
I'd rather have silence than unnecessary noise in most cases, and it's not a matter of being anti social, I just think the majority of the people talking are saying useless shit solely for the fact to not have silence.

if the person isn't perceptive enough to notice I am muted to at least trying to type at me, then whatever they had to say really wasn't that important IMO, but to some degree you are right and in some cases I do just mute specific people; it all depends on how annoying the server is when I enter it
