Jesus Christ this game was a masterpiece. Thank god for this, otherwise I would have lost faith in video games after Fallout 4 and how overhyped Witcher 3 is.
>that fucking ending
>that prologue with all characters actually knowing what happened and endless content ahead while in Witcher 3 you get shit out in Kaer Morhen and all key characters vanished
Definitely this year's best game. Easily even.
Probably the best video game character.
Absolutely incredible. No idea what Monolith is smoking to achieve something like this on such a crappy system but I want need it in my life.
How is it poorly written? It was probably one of the best and most reasonably motivationg I've ever seen for an antagonist. I expected a shit motivation and twist but what I got was great and comprehensible.
Are you an idiot or underage by a chance?
Can't think of anyting Witcher 3 has done better and I played it for 200 hours straight. Did you enjoy the empty Skellige sea, the generic fields? Tell me about it, please.
>those fucking fireflies in motion on your big screen
>those JUST enemies everywhere
>even some shitty random room has tons of unique assets you don't see anywhere else
>How is it poorly written? It was probably one of the best and most reasonably motivationg I've ever seen for an antagonist. I expected a shit motivation and twist but what I got was great and comprehensible.
This. Space Dunban is the best story device of this generation so far.
What was chapter 5 again? And how can you be satisfied after maybe 20 hours? I'm sad it didn't last longer but the ending was pretty much perfect, there is an amazing prologue and basically endless content I still have to do.
It's almost like the game just starts now.
I found the XCX writing actually more reasonable and down to earth, especially Elma. Except for your average animu shit here and there.
Didn't really buy it for the story, though.
>wonder why all the houses in the residential district are extremely nice for a chunk of the game
>the Lao thing happens
>suddenly shit makes more sense and I can see where he's coming from
This area is too packed with fucking monsters.
Kinda liked Witcher 3's combat, at least it tried to do an action combat which most open world RPGs don't even dare.
XCX's combat is amazing, though, at least the classic one. A huge improvement over Xenoblade. Skell combat is basically all about preparation and right elements, I guess, not as enjoyable.
Why is there no good artwork of Elma?
>Delicious brown skin
>Sexy white hair
>Those fucking eyes
>Toned, muscular body from constant exercise
>Isn't afraid of dressing up in nothing but a bikini to sate your exhibitionist fetish
>fights dangerous animals
Probably the community cock sleeve for BLADE
Anybody got some good Elma art? I'm building a folder.
Its not just localization, although that did help to make it worse
There's a ton of stupid design decisions that ruin the pacing and make it way too grindy.
Still a great game tho.
>apparently it takes at least 180 hours to 100%
>hit 180 hours
>no end in sight
Are you kidding? This guy is just a whiny shit lord. OH NO MY WIFE AND CHILD ARE DEAD EVERYONE ELSE ISN'T ALLOWED TO LIVE BECAUSE MY LIFE ISN'T FAIR HUMANITY DOESN'T DESERVE A FUTURE
So people liking a game and wanting to discuss it on a vidya gaem board are shills?
There's a bunch of parts like that
You do 2 or 3 story missions in a row then you get cock-blocked by having to be a certain level or needing to do a million affinity quests. Kinda killed the mood for me.
all you'll get is amateur drawings and you'll like it.
I still have a few problem with XCX's story. While the scenario itself is mediocre (I expected that), my biggest concern is the construction of the universe.
The game is huge. Like, real fucking huge. You're on a gigantic planet, with tons of ruins of ancient civilisation and a plethora of various friendly and/or hostile aliens. However, we know jack shit about all of that. Like, you know what the aliens are looking for, their goals, but that's pretty much everything. You don't get to know their homeland, how they happened to get here, and that's kinda frustrating.
Best example are the wrothians : they got their homeland destroyed, probably by the Ganglion, but they still sided with them. Would have been nice to know more about their backstory.
And that works for pretty much everything in the game. A lot of stuff is here because shit happened and that's kinda frustrating.
And when you consider the ending that doesn't give a clear answer about the planet either, that's even worse.
Thing is, nothing is out of place. The world is beautiful and the alien races are well-designed. It's just, you don't know really why. There's so much unexplained shit in this game that you're starting to wonder if you're the one out of place.
It's really a shame to have this unfinished feeling. Because I still love the game, I'm like 200 hours into it. I just feel like they could have done a little bit better.
found a nice spot to level classes,
in west primordia there is a place with lvl 51 saltalts, they give obscene amounts of job exp and you could level easily a class to the max level killing 10 of those honking bastards per level.
i go there to level up the party members and has been wonderful.
btw, i think i am going to slow, over 80 hours and barely in chapter 7, but damn this game is so fucking tasty, i cant wait to be able to fly over that waterfall in noctilum, the furthest i could manage was standing in the red branch but cannot goat my way up there.
However, one thing I'm liking is the characters. The design isn't really bad when you consider the fact it's very faithful to the concept arts, and the art style hasn't changed at all since Xenogears. So yeah, they work for me.
Another thing I like about them : unlike most RPGs (japanese or western ones), none of the characters is a walking cliché. Every character is interesting, and I'm not talking about the main cast but also the varios PNJs, even those from quests. I can't think of a single character who made me think "oh yeah, I've seen that trope before".
>OH NO MY WIFE AND CHILD ARE DEAD EVERYONE ELSE ISN'T ALLOWED TO LIVE BECAUSE MY LIFE ISN'T FAIR HUMANITY DOESN'T DESERVE A FUTURE
dang dude you are dumb
all that nerd wanted was so that he could die and be with his family and knew that as long as the life hold core thing was around he would never truly be able to achieve that.
He wasnt not all edgy lordy about his family being dead but more so that he himself couldn't die as well to join them. Which later bit him in the ass even harder in that final epilogue scene where for whatever fucking reason he is still alive and washes up on the shore.
He was just a suicidal fucker who eventually mentally broke for a moment at the realization that he would never be able to die even if he killed himself since mims can be replaced and shit unless he took drastic as fuck actions
so does anyone know if i can make more than one ares 90 for party member use or can i only make one?
i only ask cause i already got ther hardest to get mats to make it but i saw a little wrench symbol and have no clue what that is meant to mean unless its just to denote that it has already been built at least once
Best place for grinding classes (and xp), in my opinion, is this landmark in Cauldros. There's a cave guarded by a lv61 marnuck. Bring your skell with the huge ass-cannon you got from one of Lin's affinity quests and destroy that marnuck, you'll also kill the three others behind him. Before lv51 you get like 30 class points per enemy, so that's a direct 90 class points, but even at lv60 you still get 10 class points per enemy and that's a good amount for that level, definitely faster than the support mission. Teleport to the landmark, repeat, and watch the fuel.
I don't give a fuck about Witcher 3, and I love XX for some reason but it doesn't seem like more than an 8/10 game even at the best times. Ignoring the clunky character interactions which is just something the Japanese can't fucking figure out for some reason, the online seems completely tacked on and virtually non-functioning besides scouting. Another issue is when you are on a level 12 story mission it will have you fight a level 20 monster which is impossible to beat. There are other problems but like I said, I love this game. Any issues seem like opportunities they took to break the mold and they made not only one of the most impressive technical achievements, but also a charming game with aa shitload of real freedom. I was level 18 and swam to what I expect is one of the final areas in the game and there were still enemies at my level I could fight. The way the games world is laid out is truly incredible.
Actually, even the problems I mentioned make me feel like maybe I'm just doing something wrong and everything actually works perfectly. I don't need the missions and stuff explained any more, cause I really do think it's cool when you have to look up where the fuck to get some random item for a mission, but the online function really could use a better explanation.
Now, I know it's a video game and there's obviously going to be limits on how large they can make the environment--and yes, I think Mira is absolutely huge, so don't think I'm complaining here-- But the overworld seems like it would be more fitting as an island chain rather than 'continents.'
I dunno, I feel like it would make more sense.
probably the only person making webms. Not surprising considering how small the userbase is for this game.
I also lost faith in vidya after Fallout 4. How is it possible that a game so shallow, poorly optimised and buggy manages to be miles better than anything released in the last 3 years.
We will never have another studio that cares like Bethesda :((
Todd won't be around forever :(((
those people are technically not up and around yet unless one were to count the researchers and other non combat personnel tasked with the building shit in their mims and such.
every "human" that you see during the game is not a person who bribed thier way into the thing but actually those granted passage due to their skills and talents that could be used and exploited in the rebuilding process.
and even then with the epilogue stuff them rich folks seemed to have gotten their comeuppance with the whole thing of the place where their consciousness being all destroyed to shit and the only remaining "humans" being those in mims and i guess possibly professor B if his whole story about himself is legit. also man fuck that final scene with leaving me with more questions than answers as to what the fuck is going on in where ever the fuck they are. And poor fucking lao for seemingly never being allowed to fucking die for some reason
> Probably the community cock sleeve for BLADE bull shit that aint elma that fucking lin....especially with all the futa mims in thought up in my head dping her ever night....man fuck im still hoping of seeing all the female party members especially elma and alexa fucking the ever living shit out of all of lins holes with their futa mim cocks lin engineered for herself to take
