>You'll never play Half-Life 1 for the first time ever again
I remember when I first played it
for the Playstation 2.
>dat decay coop
ps2 half life was best half life
>your job is to get better
what did he mean by this
>Grenade Launchers fuck my ass until it bleeds kek
>Idiots who think the assault rifle is not the most worthless thing in the series
The bullet sponge enemies, the bb guns in the game, the nonsensical level design, the total lack of any reason to continue at any point in the game, the retarded story, the shoehorned platforming.
It's about as bad of a good game as you can get.
It's not glitchy or buggy, it's worse. It's boring and stupid.
>sup bro, allow me to make you check every ceiling before you enter a room IRL
This isn't too big a deal in the original Half-Life because there's never a rope the player uses, so if there's something hanging from the ceiling then it's easy to notice the ruse.
And then Opposing Force adds rappel ropes...
>playing for first time at sisters friends
>no idea what I was doing
>running around as a scientist for ages talking to people
>eventually cause resonance cascade
>close game and go downstairs because I thought I broke everything
I remember when i heard 1st zombie clicking and Security Guard shooting, then shooting stopped.
And these scary sounds of "something" up there at the top of the lift shaft continued to spook me.
I dropped the game because was too scared to face the unknown scary sounds source.
Played it year later.
t. dropped Alien Isolation because too much ambient atmosphere pressure.
There's some shit in Raising the Bar and commentaries, as well as the occasional answering via email from Marc Laidlaw or Robin Walker (if i'm remembering the names right), but for the most part a lot of the shit on the wiki is either extra fluff or the most inane of information that isn't really necessary.
its like saying starcraft or doom sucked fuck off half life is one of the top selling games of all time and a classic
but then, this thread has no reason to have even been posted so theres nothing to do but argue and shitpost
thanks a lot FAGGOT op
>that rush when playing black mesa for the first time
>exploring science and labs and just fucking around
oh why can't games be fun and explorative anymore.
i tried it 2 years ago when i bought the entire franchise for 15 dollars.
i played 2 the most at like 5 hours, but it was extremely unenjoyable game play wise and i hate source outside of tf 2 and l4d2. the game reminds me of the duke nukem reboot
>Buy Douk3D Megaton Edition
>Playing through all the levels I became familiar with in my youth, finding all the familiar secrets, beating the familiar chapters.
>Then play new chapters that I haven't played before; that sense of action and exploration renewed.
Fuck I'm so happy with this purchase.
I played this in 2008 for the first time on a bigass CRT connected to my laptop (for 100% black levels). That fucking feel when you first finish the helicopter base and exit the elevator to Wan Chai. That music. That ambiance. It was still the most immersive shit I played up to that point even with the ridiculous dialogue and dated graphics.
