>>323137034 You dodged a bullet mutant games are complete shit. Crash has a hp bar Aku-aku has been moved from the shield that upgrades to invincibility to item that works for block animation and allows Crash to control mutants. Tiny talks and sounds like Mike Tyson parody, Crunch is Mr.T parody and does nothing the entire first game except says stupid shit. None of the classic Crash baddies return like Ripper-roo or Dingodile and if they did they'd probably be ruined as well.
Besides CTR which will always reign king, Crash 2 is definitely my favorite.
As you all have been saying though, Twinsanity was a fabulous gem that just needed some more shine to it. If it had another 6 months in it's development time I'm sure it would be the best game in the series.
>>323139512 I really wish I could get that game running properly in an emulator. Last time I attempted it it ran like TRASH and Crash had tiny bits of his model missing for some reason. Both software and hardware modes ran horribly, it was terrible.
>>323139761 If you get the right settings, it runs almost perfectly without any graphical glitches (including the fucked up shadows and garbage graphics) and a steady 60fps. Unfortunately, there's a game breaking crash that occurs after the Dingodile fight, making the game unbeatable.
I found that out the hard way when I was going for a 100% run.
>>323140814 I haven't tried it in any other emulator to be honest. You'll need to futz with a lot of the settings to get it running just right without the weird garbled textures. Unfortunately I don't remember the exact settings you need, it's been a while since I played this game.
And, once again, the game is unbeatable. You won't be able to progress past the Dingodile fight unless you can find a save file online that has you placed right after the fight.
There actually is such a save file out there if you do the searching. I used it to beat the game, but whoever uploaded the file was a lazy fuck and didn't collect all the gems making it literally impossible to 100% the game in an emulator.
>>323141238 The game even took a pot shot at Wrath of Cortex. It happens when Cortex is talking to his penguin guards who look pissed. >The cheque bounced? >Well it has been 5 years and Wrath of Cortex didn't sell very well...
Twinsanity did have some very good tracks. This being my favourite one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kWE_WHRbmI
>>323141527 Then go nuts. The game runs perfectly in pcsx2 once you get the settings all worked out. It'll take a bit of trial and error but I promise you it can be done with little to no graphical artifacts or slowdown.
>>323141714 Fun like any party game because you'd be playing it with friends and family. But overall it was a really low quality product, especially comparing it to CTR and C3 which had come out before it.
>>323137154 What makes Crash 2 so good, isn't it just more of the same Crash 1 goodness?
I've never thought of it as being on the same level a sequel as Wipeout2097, THPS2, Destruction Derby 2, Tekken 2, or Twisted Metal 2 for example. Games that were clearly perfect, same-gen follow ups, for how much they improved on their predecessors.
>>323142091 Crash 2 took Crash 1 and made it better in every way while adding a lot of cool stuff. The controls are tighter, sliding added a lot to the way you moved Crash around. The visuals got an upgrade. The music got an upgrade (Crash 2 still remains the best Crash OST). Bosses were more fun. Secrets were also handled much better in Crash 2. Bonus stages actually mattered.
Plus, it didn't have that stupid bullshit save system that Crash 1 had.
>Still checking youtube to this day if someone didn´t find some super secret level I mean it could happen right? I can´t understand to this day how some people managed to find these two secret levels in 3
>>323142379 One of my first PS1 games was Crash Bandicoot and I think Twinsanity had the potential to be on par with, if not just flat out better than the original 3 games if it were properly polished.
>>323142379 You could see they understood Crash better than the guys doing Wrath of Cortex. Level design was somewhat interesting with pretty good boss fights and nice ideas. The soundtrack was pretty comfy as well
>>323142379 I enjoyed the humour in twin sanity but that's about it. The references to previous games were pretty well done and there's a small gag in a specific setpiece where you crash through what is basically a whorehouse and Cortex shouts "MOTHER?!?!?" which was pretty funny.
>>323142379 I've had the same reaction when first tried it back in 2007. Mediocre platforming and unconventional level design were a big turn off. The music too seemed too different from the original three games. But then I've tried it again using emulator and had a blast. Yeah, the gameplay is meh but the voice acting is hilarious and the music is actually very fun to listen to. Bosses were not bad either. It's not as good as Ctash 2 or even 3 but still a nice little title for someone who wants a bit more Crash.
And yeah, somehow I had no problems on the Dingodile fight. Perhaps my settings were different? I rememeber the game had no shadows (which made jumps with certain camera angles quite a challenge)
>>323143163 >It just felt like a bad knock-off >Didn't play Wrath of Cortex Oh, anon, you have no idea. It's like they decided to make a next-gen remake of Warped but something gone completely wrong in the process.
>>323143754 Is it me or did the developers' team messed up the gravity? For me it felt that Crash is taking too long to land after evey jump compared to the PS1 titles. Really messed up the dynamics for me and platfroming didn't feel as smooth and satisfying.
