So what do you guys think is the best time to start the old hunters dlc?
I just got to Yar'gul and figure I sould do it soon before I get too much further.
Also Bloodborne thread
>Starting the Dlc fresh outta NG+ when I just scraped by the vanilla final bosses
This is what I did
>get to mensis, stop before the wet nurse
>grind a few levels because I'm a huge coward, amd to be able to equip mpst of the new weapons
>get in there at BL 90 or so
>Mfw first encounter with the very first enemy
Should I overlevel the fuck out of my hunter for the final chalice? I'm just missing the Yharnam trophy and I'm getting my shit pushed in real hard in the cursed chalice. Should I start to grind levels like a madman? Chalices are so boring. Currently BL140 or so
A +10 weapon is really nice if you're on NG--I can't imagine fighting the first DLC boss blind without it. I recommend starting the DLC before killing Mergo's Wet Nurse, but after getting the Blood Rock; otherwise you'll miss some extra dialogue with the Doll and Gehrman.
Ah well, I guess it's time to buckle up and get good.
Just beat him right now, I'll be Hittin up the dlc soon.
Thanks anon. I hate missing stuff like that.
Anybody else find the one reborn to be easy as fuck? I just beat him first try and I don't think I've ever done that In a souls game
> do dlc when it's available at level 30
>turn 360 degrees and walk away when I get to ludwig
Why is this shit open this early? Imagine someone buying the goty edition not knowing what they're getting into
I'd say somewhere around BL25-30 for most people. I kill BSB first so I can get the memeblade, but it really doesn't matter. Axe is more than capable of taking you through the entire game if you wanted, though I find it a bit slow.
>just remember I accidentally sold all my healing pots
Welp, I'm gonna try out the Saw Spear and git gud.
Is the stat priority health>stamina>skill=strength>everything else if I'm more melee focused?
How does armor work in BB? Do I have to look like an asshole and wear that hat all the time or can I put something else on? Is there actual, like, metal armor in the game or is it a leather-fest-only thing? Are there greatswords?
I find 15 stam is plenty for the entire game. I tend to level either str or dex first depending on the weapon I'm using or plan to use. Doing more damage is more important since it's easy to regain health with rally and health with vials. Then I raise health after about 25 points in my damage stat.
As far as aesthetics go it's mainly just leathery flowing shit. As far as actual usefulness goes it is all useful, but only so much. If you're relying on your armor then you're doing it wrong.
Light armor only.
You remember how in dark souls armor had a certain weight value. Then that weight value and all the other shit you had would affect your roll speed.
Well that's gone in this game. Basically any armor you wear will either either be for looks or because it has certain stats. Some armor is good against pure physical others are good against arcane.
Yes there are great swords.
Kay so supposing I wanted to use the memesword or the burial blade or the DLC whip sword that would be str for the first and last and skill for the scythe? Which one of those would be better? I'd lake to use the Blades of mercy too but if I don't have reach I'd probably get my shit pushed in.
Laurence annihilates everyone regardless of level. I found him to be the hardest boss in the game by far.
>combos without end
>lol I'll jump backwards!
>lost my legs, I'll just scrape my way from one side of this narrow room to the other
>I'll be shitting lava whilst I do this btw
>let me track you like a magnet senpai
>I-It's not like I want to burn you or anything!
Don't worry it looks pretty good.
Pic related is my favorite.
Also do an STR build they're the most fun. Use Hammer/ Axe.
I used the Ludwig greatsword and the saw, but by the end of the game Axe + Hammer + Canon was the real fun.
>Rush saif and butcher set
>invade cathedral ward closing the gates and cleansing the streets
It's pretty mean honestly, but at least I help with Amelia sometimes
Cainhurst set is metal armor, thoughvery thin. Yes to being a leatherfest. Armor is almost irrelevant so just wear whatever you like, there are plenty of hats and I'm sure you'll findone you like. There are two greatswords, Ludwig's holy blade and Holy Sword of Moonlight in the dlc, the latter being much less boring and also being the only one-handed greatsword. But have an open mind, try something cool you can't do in dark souls as well. If you want to build for holy moonlight for example, you can also make use of the parasite and become a tentacle endowed exploding monstrosity.
Memesword is quality, so str and dex give you about the same. BB scales with dex and arc to an extent. The beast cutter is str.
It really doesn't matter what armor you use. It's fashionsouls. Some sets like Henryk will have high lightning, which is useful for fights like Paarl. Djura set has high frenzy resistance, which is nice for winter lanterns.
I mean I'm not one of those crazy stat planners but I'm gonna go 50 skill and 25 blood tinge for sure with at least 40 vit and maybe 20 end. Everything else will depend but I already made an arc/star build so I'll probably keep them at base level
is this your first time going through the game
looks like you're on your way to a str/arc build. high vitality is not a bad idea for a first timer, 50 VIT can make you not die in two hits.
I would say go 50VIT 30END 50 STR 50 ARC
No but seriously, thats a lot of "fun"
The enemies there barely drop 1k a piece, and levelling to 90, you need something like 25k every level, and it increases all the time
what the fuck man
I'm only level 58 in the forbidden woods, and that's thanks to doing a good deal of chalice dungeons. I still feel like I'm over-leveled.
>befriending that asshole
not only did he shoot my ass for doing my job, but he defends beasts. it's only a matter of time until they break though the barriers around Old Yahrnam and flood the rest of the city with the ash plague, combined with beast plague, which will spread to the world.
the beasts there are smarter than every other beast. they retain some sense of patterns and worship, as evidenced by them praising the crucified BSB with ritual blood.
they have to be killed.
Were they really that hard? I seriously love dodging their attacks and fucking their shit up afterwards
Although to be fair I'm still in my first playthrough
>playing offline for my first character
>bosses have been pretty easy so far, except Father Gas who took me 10 tries
>Kirk Hammer +7 ready to fight the Shadow of Yarn
So far nothing is really kicking my ass. Will the shadow of yarn be different
fuck those Orges who roll also fuck those Blunderbuss spamming NPC hunters.
I'm just talking aboot the snakes. If there's still 2 dudes left by the time they start snekin' then you gotta be fucking quick to kill em or else you'll end up with a bum full of snakes.
i use this armor
not the weapon though
Thanks for the tip anon. I just got really lucky with the twin bloodstones so upgrading my weapon was easy. Plus the two bloodgems. One that gives me 12.6% attack against beasts and a one that gives 7% attack with extra health.
>Update BB because I haven't played it in a while
Wew lads, I guess I'm playing this shit Sunday with my shitty internet.
>can't beat vicar Amelia, use up all my
Numbing mists, keep dying
>decide to just attack her left leg constantly
>beat her without her ever even beginning her heal ability
The regain system is a fucking trip, relying on that over backing off and healing was the biggest stumbling block as a player of previous souls games
Before Gherman or however you spell his name. I did it at level 43 but needed help with Maria and onwards.
now I invade the poor saps in cathedral ward who summon Henriett at level 30 or higher and do the young female roar gesture with the kos parasite equipped
Holy shit, this is the biggest shitpost I've ever seen. I've never seen someone shitpost so shamelessly on 4chan before.
