>>323089679 >>323091871 >>323092148 Wait, people still lie to themselves that these aren't at least good? Damn shame. MGS4 is tied with TPP for my second favorite Metal Gear, the gameplay is just so fucking fun
>>323100503 I was mostly talking about him and Aeris but yes that too is still better than anything in FFVIII.
>mopey socially-retarded asshat who hates everybody and everything and seemingly wants to kill himself ends up falling for a "tee hee look how naive and silly I am! XD" girl
What makes it even worse is that your comrades are literally trying to force you two together without any rhyme or reason. Including Quistis, who despite Squall either telling her to fuck off or outright ignoring her still wants his cock.
>>323101115 >mopey socially-retarded asshat who hates everybody and everything and seemingly wants to kill himself ends up falling for a "tee hee look how naive and silly I am! XD" girl You just described Cloud and Aeris
the fact that romance is such a big deal to you is pretty sad. Who cares?
Star Fox: Adventures. Once you look past the fact it's not even close to being a Star Fox game (They just slapped Star Fox characters in so the game would sell more), it's actually really goddamn good.
Lost Planet 3, Syndicate (2012), DmC. Deadly Premonition and Alpha Protocol were also amazing games that often get criticized for their lackluster gameplay (although I felt their gameplay was fantastic anyway.)
>>323101273 At least Cloud has a valid reason for being like that, what's Squall's excuse? And at least Aeris isn't a dumb fuck who constantly gets herself and her friends in trouble for her own selfish reasons.
Also yes, thank you for pointing out the romance in FFVIII being derivative and cliche as fuck.
>the fact that romance is such a big deal to you is pretty sad.
Well it's not like the romance is a major part of FFVIII or anything, not like it's on the front fucking cover or anything.
>>323101381 I have, and it seemed much more natural than the romance between Squall and Rinoa.
>VII had better developed romance Romance was the focus of the story in FFVIII. And despite the romance plot being crap, its still way more 'developed' than FFVII. Which had pretty much no romance plot except Zack and Aeris. Tifa and Cloud was such a sub story, many people didn't even realize they were an item.
>And at least Aeris isn't a dumb fuck who constantly gets herself and her friends in trouble for her own selfish reasons. Except when she runs off randomly in the middle of the night, forcing the party to chase after her. And then gets stabbed. Aeris is literally Aria from FFIII made into a playable character.
>>323098521 see i fell for this meme and blew a lot of money on it. i've played it so much trying to get into it to make up for the money spent, even with a friend but i always want to kill myself out of boredom by the end of a session.
>>323101852 The romance was fucking atrocious in FFVIII, hell you even had Zell and the others jumping in and trying to force you two. It's like the writers were lampshade hanging how little chemistry there was between Squall and Rinoa.
>>323101967 Yeah that's totally much dumber than trying to convince an all-powerful sorceress to where a totally not suspicious looking bangle.
Rinoa dying would have actually been a powerful moment for Squall, much more than Aeris dying for Cloud, and of course they fucked that up too.
>The romance was fucking atrocious in FFVIII Everyone agrees with you bro. We're pointing out that your argument is 'FFVII is vetter developed'. Which is fucking stupid. Its like saying Blade Runner has a more developed romance than Star Wars prequels. The love story in the Star Wars prequels is one of the worst ever. But its still more 'developed' than Blade Runner, which is so light that the movie ends before it is resolved.
I adore me some Twilight Princess but it's the second best selling Zelda and the little Triforce wing symbol thing is almost the new face of the series' merchandising - I see that way more often than I do the regular Triforce. I've never thought that everyone else hated it. It has its detractors, sure, but it's still pretty damn popular.
>>323102887 >Seifer was just a typical school bully, all that stuff about his dream, going with the sorceress, never caring for anyone even his two flunkies aren't signs of a messed up teen You are an idiot.
>>323103503 >doesn't know where Seifer got his dream from because it requires reading between lines >thinks he was possessed >not true >I'll just say it's bad writing that means I'm right! You are an idiot
>>323104813 I have, and Seifer brought up his romantic dream once as far as I recall. FFVIII only seems really deep and complex because of how poorly written it is, and you 3deep5me faggots are only reinforcing that fact.
Paper Mario 64 has been my favorite game since I was 8 years old too. TTYD was magical as well. I fucking hated Super though, that game was awful.
Sticker Star was a fun ride for what it is. The level designs were simply amazing, the graphics are beautifull. The OST is wonderful too. Some boss battles are absolutely brutal until you figure out the weakness stickers - I did beat a few bosses without them, and they were challenging as fuck. There's a good amount of exploration and backtracking as well which I always like.
It's not a true RPG game like the two first games, it's more of an Action/Adventure game. For that I really liked it. In fact it's my favorite 3DS game.
Here's the problem with SS >bird riding mechanics are retarded, they wrote into the story how you shouldn't be riding at night but gave other NPCs the ability to. This is not to mention how retarded the speed boosting rocks are with where you need to fly, if you're not completely dead center you hit invisible barriers and fly around it >side quests could not feel more chore-ey, "gratitude crystals" are just a lame disguise to do chores and hit your head into a tree >the motion controls were innovative, but for some reason they couldn't go all the way in depth with it and instead just made all enemies play "Simon says" with you Need I go on about the terrible plot or can I stop here?
>>323105331 >I have You clearly have not or you would know the answer. Doesn't matter, it makes no difference to the fact Seifer is a messed up kid. >3deep5me You only see it that way because you failed to understand things. Which brings us back to you being an idiot.
>>323106305 And yet you can't even defend your argument without resorting to "nuh uh you never played it! LALALA CAN'T HEAR YOU YOU'RE JUST AN IDIOT LALALA" so you're doing a shit job at proving me wrong.
-Enough changes to feel fresh, while still being connected to the other 3D Zelda games. -Heavy influences from Miyazaki, especially Nausicaa and Laputa -Lots of characters, dungeon concepts and even the graphics feel inspired from the 2D games -Some of the best items in a Zelda game in probably 10 years, unlike Twilight Princess which really only had two useful items. Plus, these items were used throughout the whole game, and not just in the one dungeon they were found in (again, a fault of Twilight). -WiiPlus controls, while not always precise, were fun and unique. Combat feels improved over games like Wind Waker and Twilight. -Characters were 100x better than Twilight. -While still having a lot of 'forced side quest' stuff, much of it was improved from Twilight. Even similar actions like collecting souls could be done in a fraction of the time it took in Twilight. And the game only has 1 puzzle based concept, which ended up being a whole dungeon, which is vastly improved from all the mirror/sliding block/switch puzzles in Twilight. -Impa, Zelda, Groose and the main enemy all feel like they have a large role. -Some genuine OH SHIT moments. -While flying, you could get anywhere you needed to go in under 3 minutes. Much better than the endless sailing or riding of Epona in Wind Waker/Twilight. People blow this way out of proportion. -Being able to upgrade items was nice, though not necessary.
Negatives: -Making Fi monotone and exposition based was a horrible idea, especially following Midna in Twilight Princess -"Master, there is an 85% probability the next thing I will say will have an 85% probability." -Too much dialogue for a Zelda game, which is also bad following Twilight Princess which had the same problem. -Linear zones -Ten different girls in the game who all want Link's dick, but the story forces you to only be with Zelda
>>323107352 >and try paying attention This is something you have real trouble doing isn't it?
This is getting boring. Your dumb rant about the romance was proven wrong and your dumb denial of seifer being messed up is all because you are mad I called you an idiot. Well you are one and continue to prove that.
>>323107539 I absolutely loved playing this game on my first playthrough with friends. that first zone was a fun time to be had and everything looked so pretty, took a downturn later on but again, being with friends fucking around kept it fun. >not getting everyone killed because you play the asian chick and rp a terrible driver.
>>323108194 >And here you are deviating even further from the main point That's what you've done anon, because you are mad I called you an idiot and that's all this is about now. Your butthurt. >I'm still waiting for you to come and explain in detail to me why I'm wrong. Your moronic reply was countered ages ago. Your denial of Seifer being messed up is entirely pointless and you being contrarian. You've turned this into something else, because you are an idiot.
So I repeat, go play the game and pay attention. Idiot.
>the the motion worked 100% of the time rather than 95% >I didn't have to re calibrate so often >Flying was mapped to the stick rather than motion >we had more than one town >The Woods and Valley had as much variety and new gameplay concepts as the desert >useless motion puzzles >more variety in the sky beyond treasure chest islands Seriously, the endless sea had more variety, and even that was pretty barren for the most part >too much tracking >didn't reuse bosses as much >no Fi
Honestly, the game started off promising, but that weened down quickly as the game went on. Neat things towards the end, again, especially with the desert and time stones, but man was this a tough Zelda game to get through. Never have I felt this way about any other game in the series.
My favorite Sonic game even though it's technically a Shadow game. Made levels that could be used not only to get to the goal like Sonic stages in SA2, but also gave you other objectives to complete quickly if you want more than just "hurr speed."
Could use polish in some aspects, Sonic should tell you to drop down to attack the aliens below in Westopolis, but overall it is the closest we have ever gotten to the ideal Sonic game.
>>323105651 >>bird riding mechanics are retarded This doesn't matter. You only spend 2 minutes or so in the sky at a time. That's better than spending several hours on a boat, in a big open empty ocean with no content. This is not really part of what makes the game good. Nobody goes "Oh I loved that part where you rode the bird", it's about the combat and stuff. >>side quests could not feel more chore-ey, "gratitude crystals" are just a lame disguise to do chores and hit your head into a tree I agree the side quests were kinda bad, but this is a linear Zelda done right. This is what you guys wanted. >>the "Simon says" meme This was never a good argument. How else are they supposed to do it? Why don't you go undermining and simplifying some other game's mechanics? You can do that with any game. You could take the most sophisticated, interesting combat system and just make it seem like it's not that great. Why pick on SS? Sounds like you just jumped on the "let's bash SS" bandwagon. >Need I go on about the terrible plot or can I stop here? So was the plot in every other Zelda game terrible too then? Because it's pretty much the same thing.
>>323093605 After replaying it, I found that it was much better than what I remembered. When I had played it back when it came out, I was pretty young at the time (24 now) and I didn't appreciate the combat mechanics fully, or even attempt to understand what the game was trying to do. I mostly just played button mashers and games like Ocarina of Time so I was used to games when you just spam B basically.
After replaying it I find the combat system amazing, if you're actually patient and make an attempt to understand it, and if you like mixing up your attacks when you're fighting. It is the best combat in the series, at least by traditional controls. The puzzles, dungeons, story, characters, writing / dialogue, etc. are also the best in the series.
>>323104213 I liked Dark Souls 2 as well... The combat was a lot better even if the atmosphere was just... not good. It had a nice flow to it, better than 1 at least. >Not as smooth as BB I hear >No PS4, only PC
... I really liked the Aldia boss fight. >Music perfectly in tune with the fight's pace.
>>323112382 And VIII is any better? Please. VIII had many of the same problems as XIII (heavy focus on style over substance, clusterfuck story, cringeworthy dialogue, flat one-dimensional characters, stifling linearity with very little breathing room, gimmicky combat that got stale and repetitive etc.) yet for some reason (more than likely nostalgia) it gets a free pass.
