Someone found an hack for the 3ds allowing you to change the version to 9.2, and then instaling custom firmware. Doing that allows you to pirate games basically. Nintendo is supposed to patch it the coming monday.

Are there any risks with the hack?

Somehow this feels weird. I don't know why. I had a similar feeling years ago before hacking Wii. Now I only play pirated games on Wii (except from games I already bought original before hacking).

I don't think the patch is confirmed to be released on monday, and even if they'll be able to patch it at all. And if it's on firmware 9.2 you win anyway, since you can run the second half of the exploit, which should still work by the next patch.
