Should I get a 3DS? I got some many for Christmas that I can spend.
I really missed out on a lot of DS games (Professor Layton, Fire Emblem, and Phoenix Wright are the three that immediately come to mind) and I completely missed out on the Nintendo 64 because I never had one growing up (never played Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask). In addition the lineup of 3DS games is looking pretty good. So is it worth it?
Someone found an hack for the 3ds allowing you to change the version to 9.2, and then instaling custom firmware. Doing that allows you to pirate games basically. Nintendo is supposed to patch it the coming monday.
smtiv and desu overclocked allow you to grind but it's not needed if you are good at a certain mechanic. Also fe awakening allows you to grind you're units to perfection but doing that also makes the main game trivial.
>Ι was buying original games for 3DS till now (bought Kid Icarus Uprising at the New Year's Eve)
>Soon I'm going to probably play pirated games
Somehow this feels weird. I don't know why. I had a similar feeling years ago before hacking Wii. Now I only play pirated games on Wii (except from games I already bought original before hacking).
But modern EO requires absolutely no grind whatsoever unless you're a minmaxer retiring all his party members to get the highest stats.
The only excuse for grinding is if you're bad at JRPGs, and the only way anybody can be bad at a turn-based JRPG is if they're literally retarded.
I got a 3DS for Christmas
All in all I'm happy. I might get Gamefly so I can play games on the cheap. I got smash and the fucking online is hot shit - but I'm still glad. I'm playing Bravely Default now, that's pretty sweet
Go for it - what, are you going to get a fuckin' vita? and play what
I don't think the patch is confirmed to be released on monday, and even if they'll be able to patch it at all. And if it's on firmware 9.2 you win anyway, since you can run the second half of the exploit, which should still work by the next patch.
