Rayman 4.

Concept art exists and can be found on the lead designer's portfolio website thing. A 3D remake of Band Land from the first game was planned, and the abilities from Rayman 3 were to be brought back and expanded on. Shit was cancelled for the first Rabbids games, and that's why it took fucking YEARS to get another good Rayman platformer, and why we still haven't gotten a good 3D Rayman since 3. Goddamn Rabbids, man. At least the concept of murdering them in every game is really meta, since they deserve it for fucking up such a good franchise.

Posting some canned Project Aces games (Devs of ace combat). Only have detailed info on this one, would welcome translation of the following two images

According to a Famitsu number from 2007, the story of the game would have been set in 2025, centered on a regime ruling the Kingdom of Sapin. The protagonist is a blonde man dressed in a Bionics Armed Suit, who would have joined a resistance movement in an uprising in Gran Rugido against the ruling government. A supporting character would have been a female rebel named Anna, who would regularly accompany him in combat.

Gameplay was centered on a melee system in which the player could interact with various objects in the environment, a concept also applied in Second Season 01 and Chain Limit. The main enemies, the regime forces, would fight with a variety of weapons, including batons and firearms, which could be taken from their hands for later use. Occasionally, the protagonist would encounter mini-bosses through the story. One particular fight involved a commando named Herzog, who would fight with a combat knife and an MP7 machine pistol.

Sex'n'Drugs'n'Rock'n'Roll. It was developed by the same people who made Sensible Soccer. It was going to be a point and click adventure game about this Judas Priest esque rockband and it was going to have all kinds of crazy shit going on, you could make decisions and some of the decisions would affect wayyyy later in the game ie. you have sex in early part of the game -> you die due AIDS after few hours etc.
The game went through development/publisher hell and even had a full CD of original soundtrack and music videos. The devs stopped trying to publish it because the game of adventure games was over and punk/rock music didn't have that kind of cultural impact anymore.

How about the original RE5? Not sure how many people are aware of this, but RE5 went through its own developmental llimbo (not as long as RE4, but still). The original screens, concepts, and gameplay showed a much more survival-horrory game that focused on things like light and shadow, heat exhaustion and delirium, etc

Pretty sure the original RE5 was scrapped somewhere in development

Chaos Chronicles was a p neat looking RPG that seemed really close to release a couple years back but got shot down before the final stretch after the devs and publisher (bitComposer) got into a dispute. The devs said bC stopped paying them and wanted to publish the game early, they wanted to continue production and pay for it themselves and receive a share of profits, but that didn't fly. They also accused bC of not paying them on completion of milestones and of sandbagging attempted meetings to find a solution. bC said this was all bullshit and they were perfectly reasonable and fair.

I remember back in 2005/6, Sony had released screenshots of a Highlander game some third party was working on.
I think the plot was gonna be you playing as one of MacLeod's first kills, going aginast dozens of other immortals all throughout different time periods, and the final fight was gonna be against MacLeod himself. I guess it got cancelled due to the whole immortal thing probably causing issues with how battles would work.
