Sounds about right.

There are some things in the new DOOM that need to go. Like, slowing the game down when you are selecting from the weapon wheel and the fucking kill cutscenes. Another horrid thing is how the ammo/items/whatever just spills out of enemies when you kill them.

Looks out of place and slows it down for no real reason. Doom isn't Manhunt.

One of the fastest multiplayer experiences in my life was playing Doom2 Level1 Deathmatch.

Playing with 3 other players back in the day meant that there was a kill every couple of seconds.

It was just obscenely fast and very intuitive.

There's no better feeling then getting in the zone and just gliding through the level blowing players apart and barely stopping, zig-zaging between rockets, blasting them with the shotgun from a half-turn and sticking a bfg into a wall and making a corner so they all die in front of you.

It's just magic.

Im impressed how much redid after the community feed back after e3. The e3 demo had me super sceptical, but from the sound of this article they made it way more Doom like.

Looks true to the orginial. The orginal doom monsters were super colorful and goofy anon. If they were rendered in 3d they would have looked pixar as fuck

The game looks fun, and it will probably be good. But it will piss off hardcore Doom 1 and 2 fags really badly because it's going to be nothing like those games.

Hardcore Doom 1 and 2 fan here, what I've read here has me cautiously hyped. I'm not expecting it to live up to the originals, but as long as it's at least a 7/10, I'll be satisfied

It's automatically shit because they are fucking the community in the ass with this snapmap shit which ultimately restricts more savvy modders from really keeping this game alive down the line of 3-4+ years, let alone 20+ years like Doom 1 and 2.

The only REASON you even see "hardcore doom fans" is because of the fucking modding community. They have soley kept the game alive through source ports and a plethora of wads.

Both of you are right. I expect it to be a fun sp experience, and snap map will be a cool novelty for a bit. But without real modding tools, it won't have the sustainability of 1 and 2
