Why do normies like this game so much?
They probably wouldn't find Fallout 3 that fun, and their head would explode if they attempted to play New Vegas.
FO4 > NV >>>> feces > FO3
I don't understand why we're bashing Bethesda for making a game that has gameplay worth giving a shit about. This is the first time they've ever done this and you fags are shitting all over it.
Sounds like you all want one of those generic indie walking simulators on Steam.
I agree with you the gameplay is good and the graphics while not great are a massive upgrade from previous instalments (also, the godrays actually look really, really damn good in this game)
But the big problem is that theres not really much choice in what you do. You are always the good guy, you can't be the bad guy, too many essential NPCs, it's dumb af. Also, the gameplay is grindy.
normies don't even know NV exists m8.
Fallout 3 sold 5 million copies on the 360 alone, lad.
It got fellated by mainstream vidya sites and won a shit ton of GotY. It's normiecore as fuck.
I honestly thought hating fallout 4 was just a meme but holy shit /v/ was actually right. This game was disappointing as hell and not to mention rushed, the removal of the skill chart, karma, and repairing system dumbs the game down too much, bland dialogue options, and boring story quests. Compared to new vegas, 4 was such a fucking let down. 5 years people have waited for this fucking game and this is what we got
I'm glad karma is gone, it was retarded to lose karma for stealing from a faction that you are against eg Caesar's legion. Also glad repair system was gone, it was just a needless time sink and complication that was somewhat fixed in NV with jury rigging then finally killed in FO4.
Of course the karma system had its flaws but you actually had the ability to do right or wrong and suffer for it. The repairing system was great too cause you actually had to maintain and make your weapon or armor Is working at its highest performance. You can't just use a gun and expect it to be practically new after some wear and tear.
I'm replaying NV for the first time since late 2014 and the flaws of FO4 are even more glaring than they were when I first played it, but I still think people really overexaggerate how bad it is. Most of the complaints are stupid or outright wrong. The fact that people literally imply that FO3 is better than FO4 blows my fucking mind.
Yeah I'll be honest it isn't horrible or unplayable it's just pretty disappointing compared to the previous titles but as far as gameplay and visuals theres definitely improvement
It's better than Bethesda's only other Fallout installment, which is exactly what I expected; just like how Skyrim was better than Oblivion on almost every front (although FO4 was better than FO3 in literally every way whereas Oblivion had at least some better things going on).
Problem is, the last Fallout game in people's minds is NV, so that's what they compare it to. It's a little silly to compare a game made by an actual good developer who knows how to create an RPG to fucking post-Morrowind Bethesda, so I don't see why people have been doing it so much.
Because if you don't say you love zelda, skyrim, portal and "fallout, from the same guys who made skyrim" you're not "in". And you're a TRUE GAMER aren't you? You don't want to lose reddit karma, huh?
Basically the one thing that rules pretty much everything involving human retardation: the emperor and his invisible robe.
Well gee, maybe because they're not taking in mind what stupid fucking politics is going on behind what studio did what, and they're just judging the game on its merit
Which it has very little of. So go fuck yourself,
"ya but it was good piece of shit from a studio known for regular pieces of shit!"
That's you. That's what you sound like.
>almost every front
It also suffers from the same flaw. Shitty fucking quests and shitty dialogue. Who the fuck came along and said "We're going to have better graphics, better gameplay, and oh, remove everything interesting from the game and just have radiant quests"
What's the point of improving combat when anyone that isn't a normie expects to enjoy playing the game for more than a few hours?
No I'm talking about the people saying normies don't "get" FO:NV. Get over yourselves, you're not special for liking a game, especially one that's still basically an action RPG that just has more text than the average game.
Calm down, autismo.
Bethesda doesn't release complete shit; they're a mediocre dev team that releases watered down pseudo-RPGs that have strong open world exploration mechanics. They're fun to play for a lot of people because they're well made for what they are. Obsidian are a great dev team who know how to actually make a good RPG, so they made the better Fallout game. Why compare Obsidian to Bethesda? Why get salty because Bethesda followed the same pattern they did with Oblivion -> Skyrim as if you expected them to make an RPG as good as Obsidian's?
FO4 has plenty of merit as a game. As a Fallout game, not so much.
Because they want the normies, anon.
Although even ledditors are salty about the complete watering down of RPG aspects so idk what the fuck they were thinking there. Removing stats was just beyond retarded.
I disagree. It's the most open ended Fallout game to date.
Actually the most "in" game right now is undertale.
>They probably wouldn't find Fallout 3 that fun, and their head would explode if they attempted to play New Vegas.
FO3 is actually a piece of shit, worse than FO4 is every aspect and F:NV is just a FO3 mod.
Sorry to break out of your hivemind.
>F:NV is just a FO3 mod.
Am I in 2010 again?
You're missing the point. New Vegas doesn't "scare" normies, why would it? It has similar mechanics to FO3.
>Slightly different damage calculations, which most people don't care about anyway.
>Stats and SPECIAL have minor changes, which again most "normies" wouldn't even notice
>Iron sights, which every modern FPS has
>More story driven
>hardcore mode which is optional
There's nothing anti-normie or scary about NV, it seems designed to be a perfectly accessibly aRPG, and there's nothing wrong with that.
I'm gonna chime in for a second.
I've got a bunch of friends who loved FNV, some of which are pee cee gaaaimurs and some of which are "normies".
The "normies" had no problem getting into it because muh first person shooter mechanics, but they were fucking shit at it. They didn't get any of the nuances behind weapon requirements, how damage is calculated, the branching quest options, lore, etc. It all just went over their head. They played the game on Normal, most didn't even know they could go independent, kept bringing up how their sniper scope ways and how they should be able to hold their breath like in Call of Duty, didn't "get the hacking system". They beat it because the base game on Normal difficulty is pretty fucking easy and you have to be an absolute retard to not beat it on that difficulty but so much of the game just went over their heads.
The rest of my friends, particularly the P.C.G.A.M.E.R.S mostly got into the game a bunch, figured out every nuance and learned how to minmax as quickly as possible. They played on Very Hard and Hardcore and most of them got mods to make the game even harder. They roleplayed characters, employed personal restrictions like not being able to heal and shit, and pulled it off because they understood all of the game's mechanics and content so well.
FNV is really easy to get into for casuals because it's familiar territory: epic post-apocalyptic wasteland first person shooter bro. But it's got a decent amount of depth to satisfy those who actually give a shit, and that's the stuff that casual players completely miss out on. Even then, FNV isn't that complex of a game, but it's leagues ahead of FO3 and 4 in terms of complexity and depth. I thought this was universally agreed upon by now but I guess people are still stuck in 2010 and think F:NV is a glorified FO3 mod.
it still sold fuckton thanks to marketing generating pre-orders and day-one purchaises.
