Everybody will go ARM except for Valve because the ARM SOC market will be more competitive and offer better prices.

As a result the libraries of the Sony and Microsoft offerings will be pathetic. Valve's SteamOS library on the other hand will be closing in on half of the entire Steam library. Nintendo will maintain backwards compatibility with portable games back to the DS, and will re-release many WiiU games for their new handheld/console hybrid which will take off more thanks to the portable nature.

There is a way but it's complex.

1. You would need a steam box handled by valve since they own the biggest store. No one else will bother since they won't profit from it like valve would.

2.Secondly either valve finds out a way to get every game running on steam os or just put windows 10 on it.

3. You make a steam box that has decent dx 12 card and a decent cpu. Both should be upgradeable.

4. The most important step is advertising the fuck out of it and pointing out it's good features like free online, upgradability, has the casual games people want like cod and fifa etc.

5. Take a loss when you sell it. Make it 400 bux or some shit.

6. Actually make a few exclusives for it and entice devs to work on it's set hardware.

But like I said this is way too much work and valve makes 1 billion in profit each year so there's no reason to even bother considering the ecosystem won't be locked down.

The only other parties that would benefit is MS and they already have the xbox.

I predict the sony and microsoft ones will have approximately two to three okay exclusives and one actually good/great one, and the nintendo one will have a bunch of good games but have some bullshit gimmick that makes it shittier than if it was a regular-ass console ( Probably something to do with mobile )

This is an excellent prediction. Each generation, consoles have copied more aspects from PC.

If consoles had two versions, say a PS5 basic and PS5 pro priced $150 more, it'd be fantastic for everyone. Console gamers would get to experience 1080p/60fps/max settings just like high end PCs, and it'd still be optimized since devs only have to worry about two builds.
