I like his stuff, but if I had to rank him I feel he falls just short compared to the Great Clement.
Clement can recognize a game's flaws but get over them, except '06 which is legitimately unforgivable yet Johnny seems to sometimes get snagged on shortcomings. Their interpretation of Mega Man & Bass highlighted that for me, Clement recognizes the game is tailored for Bass and can be hard if not unfair, but he persists and moves on. Johnny didn't want to let it go, like no Mega Man game has ever kicked you in the balls at some point for having the wrong weapon for a boss or not enough weapon energy in general or just flat out because fuck you.
