Holy shit how can people like this guy's "reviews"?
I'm really not sure if he's serious or if he's supposed to be funny (because he's not).
He's a self admitted casual who doesnt even make it to the end of a game if he doesnt like it, and just proceeds to call the game shit.
It could be the most amazing game ever but if its starts slow, he'll quit before the game gets any good and say "0/!0 its shit".
And the majority of criticism he provides literally comes from his misunderstanding of the game he plays.
>i-it gets good x hours in, trust me!
I'm sorry he didn't like a game you like OP
I have been wronged in this way by Ben Yahtzee.
He didn't like Monster Hunter because he only played the tutorial quests. It hurt my feelings. :(
But seriously, it's pretty stupid to not even finish a game but still feel like you have the capability to review it.
they aren't reviews.
ZP got its start as youtube shitposting, and the escapist wanted to make it a bit.
watch his actual youtube videos, nothing in ZP should be taken too seriously.
>finish game twice
>call it shit
>"well it must not be shit if you finished it twice!"
Because Escapist wants at least 1 review per week, and loads of games can't be beaten in one week.
That, and they really don't care if he finishes it, because his reviews are mostly just nitpicking rants or tonguebaths.
I find him amusing and I watch him once in a while.
You take things too seriously.
Boob hijack post your favourite boobs.
>why get arse-pained over it?
Because /v/ is driven purely by butthurt, and nothing causes butthurt like someone of any authority telling others what they think of your favorite game.
Hell, the mailbag showdown was an entire episode devoted to reading specific butthurt messages from /v/.
He makes serious lengthy written reviews too. His Zero Punctuation short reviews are mostly for entertainment. He doesn't actually hate most of the games he plays I'm pretty sure. Just tries to shit on them as much as possible while being honest about their content and being humorous as well. Plus the fast pace of his reviews make them easier to enjoy.
I like them.
There are even games he genuinely likes and praises in his Zero Punctuation reviews, such as Psychonauts and Cave Story.
In his lengthier written reviews, he also seems to like Undertale.
He's a very picky man, but in truth he just enjoys making a show about shitting on video games as much as he can without being dishonest about their content. And that in itself is enjoyable.
Basically, he gets paid to do the video equivalent of shitposting on /v/ (except more wordy and polished), and irritate people like you
Tumblr as a website isn't the problem, its the community. And the annoying parts of the community are avoidable. The site is mostly porn and random people reblogging shit they like anyways. Supporting Tumblr is hardly an issue and good content comes from there all the time. Hell, a lot of good Jap artists use it.
>It could be the most amazing game ever but if its starts slow, he'll quit before the game gets any good and say "0/!0 its shit".
Okay, fuck that. The beginning of a game is pretty damn important because it sets the tone for the rest of the game. Pacing is important in any medium, and it gets neglected more often than it should.
>Pikmin 3 review
>there's a character you have to save because he holds the key to getting home
>"lol why is it so important that I save this guy?"
No, his taste is pretty damn good. I mean even if you dislike Undertale, one game doesn't kill his taste.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that he also likes the original Thief.
>pretends to be a professional reviewer
>casual who doesn't play games, just calls them shit
>misunderstands the game being critiqued
Sounds like your average /v/irgin, OP.
hours out of my life to make sure the game is actually shit and I'm not just fucking up
>>the actions of an idiot
Yes. Because apparently those 8 hours are either so useless that they can be wasted or your life is so devoid of meaning that you can fill them doing something you hate for no gain
Anything you had the urge to not only play to completion, but to do so twice, must be pretty fucking good. I don't even replay most games that I fucking loved the first time around.
I don't agree with everything he says but he's what every reviewer should be, ie unashamedly biased and open about what his biases is. He reviews everything subjectively and doesn't hide it, and it's pretty much up to you if you agree with him.
Objective reviews are pretty much worthless, might as well read a game manual.
Shhh, people here don't actually know why they hate tumblr, they just assume everyone on tumblr is an sjw sissyfaggot with mental disorders, and don't realize that the porn tumblrs are actually fucking awesome.
