>>322835407 >replay kotor >think "I'll make a scoundrel" >get to the point where you unlock mission >now I have to micromanage two invisible cunts >also mission sucks >and my protagonist sucks >and I've been playing for 10 hours And that's the story of how I stopped trying to replay kotor.
>>322841558 >not making a Jedi Consular for good balance of feats/powers/skill points >not then choosing Weaponmaster/Marauder for absolute Master Speed/Master Flurry Two Handed Lightsaber Solo brutal anal rape playthrough
This is about USELESS companions that you liked but never used because of how useless they were. Not THE BEST COMPANION YOU LOVED LIKE A WAIFU AND USED ALL THE FUCKING TIME AND CRIED WHEN YOU COULDN'T USE THEM.
Aribeth and Bastilla are my two favorite Bioware waifus.
I've been replaying KOTOR 2 and I just can't do it anymore. I enjoyed the game as a kid but fucking hell I don't like it nearly as much as KOTOR 1.
Not to mention one little, tiny thing that isn't in the new pc version that actually helped me go through the games back in the XBOX days... I can't walk around twirling my lightsabers anymore. It's sad, I used to eat up the tedium of running around by constantly mashing Y on the controller to twirl my lightsabers and that doesn't happen anymore on PC, makes me wish I had the original XBOX version again.
GOTO was fine for a droid since he could get level 2 range attacks up. Droids needed more feats. Also the game needed to be more difficult.
I really like hub based gameplay with a party and their interactions. They need to the supporting characters, and be well developed. By your first hub after the tutorial you should have all your party members so you can create situations involving all of them for all subsequent hubs. Also, mass effect had TOO much fighting in my opinion. There were areas where you would fight for upwards of 30 minutes or more with very little interactions other than mindlessly shooting toward the boss.
More combat encounters, but shorter durations would be the better I think.
Mediocre stats mostly. Low dex and okay strength for a melee fighter.
Focus on 3 stats to level up for him. So canon repair, computer use and awareness. Bank some skill ups and get him to gaurdian asap. Tech him up into heavy armor, dumping points into treat injury then and get him some mandalorian heavy armor.
>>322835407 Mission actually has the best damage rates in the game with dual pistols (specifically give her the Sith Assassin Pistol you get off Saul Karath and the Cassus Fett Blaster) and her high level sneak attack. Her hp tends to suck so you should focus on boosting her constitution but her defense stat itself tends to be one of the highest outside of the droids. Just give her either the Light Exoskeleton (this one is more for a melee oriented Mission due to the strength boost or a Jedi) or the Baragwin Shadow Armor (this one is literally made for Mission and is the cheaper option) and pick the Master Two Weapon Fighting line of feats along with an improved or master Sniper Shot. Maybe first rank of toughness on the side or implants level 1 - don't go beyond either. As long as you keep her at a range she can be pretty damn good. Also set her ai to Jedi/Droid Support so she sticks to using Sniper Shot.
One last thing: don't forget to check all weapons for Keen status. This doubles the crit chance on any given weapon which improves Sniper Shot's chance of stunning the enemy. A couple good blaster rifles to use on her with Keen are Zaalbar's Bowcaster and the Baragwin Disruptor X and the Baragwin Ion X.
>>322848785 After a while, he realizes you mind tricked him into killing his best friend, so he goes all Wookiee rage and tries to kill you. You have to put him down and calmly continue along your way.
>>322842030 Tali's only bad in ME3 because there are only three missions in the entire game with Geth in them, and the only other synthetics for her to use AI hacking on are the Cerberus turrets, and maybe Atlas Mechs. I don't remember if it worked on those.
>>322849650 Yeah it was DLC for the xbox originally but PC gave it to you right off the bat.
>>322849416 I liked how it gave you enough money to actually afford a lot of the more expensive shit in this game either by selling certain equipment or by playing Pazaak against the guy on the station. Really made it alot easier to screw around and start buying tons of cool shit right after getting off of Dantooine.
>>322850012 I replayed both recently and I honestly have to say I enjoyed 1 more. 2's writing was better, especially character writing, but I just can't get past how little there was to do in the game due to how rushed it had to be. Honestly, the cut content patch makes it even worse, because a lot of the actual gameplay that's added is garbage, it's only worthwhile for what it restores in the writing.
>>322841661 >Wrex It's been a long time since I played ME1, but wasn't he OP as fuck?
>Legion Agreed, he suffers the same problem as Tali - Combat Drone is fucking useless, and AI Hacking is only any good on Geth missions, which, if you're playing the game properly, there is only one of left after you recruit him, not counting 1 or 2 side missions. He COULD hack mechs, but YMIR mechs are the only ones worth hacking and that means getting through 2 layers of protection at which point it's just faster to shoot them
>>322850640 Legion is actually pretty good. Join time sucks yeah but he is basically the most durable character from the moment he joins thanks to both shield upgrades, Geth Shield Boost, and power recharge passive bonus. Just make sure to buy the widow for him cause once he gets that his offense goes through the roof.
I really dislike how few geth enemies there were in 2. Both Tali and Legion would be way better if there were more of them like in one. At the very least if you do want to use Tali and Legion more often I would suggest you use the Sentinel class with the Assault Armor variation on the Tech Armor power. Every time you use Tech Armor the squad powers will instantly recharge allowing you to take proper advantage of both characters without having to worry about not being able to use their powers again for another 30 seconds.
The Combat Drone is also really useful on Engineer Shepard due to the 3 second recharge giving you the ability to always control at least 1 enemy in combat.
>>322851881 I actually just completed an Insanity run of ME2 as Adept with Energy Drain bonus power (Miranda/Samara best squad, strip shields/barriers/armour with Shepard and Miranda then let loose the group-pulls and detonation combos erry day). My next run will be Engineer or Sentinel, them and Soldier are the only classes I haven't done a playthrough as.
>>322852241 Engineer and Sentinel are both fun for different reasons. Engineer is my favorite class just cause of how oddly versatile it is in terms of both powers and crowd control. Sentinel should have had access to shotguns from the get go. I wish they had added DLC to ME2 that allowed you to pick a third gun earlier in the game. I do prefer Soldier for sniping actually. Didn't really like Infiltrator due to the slowdown going away after a moment and other things like your shields not recharging during cloak along with the longer recharge. I should take another shot at it again.
One thing I will say is that depending on what class and what extra power you take you will end up using very different squadmates in ME2 for each mission.
>>322852878 One thing I would say is if you are planning on doing a Sentinel run and want to have some extra fun consider using a save editor to give you Tali and Legion right at the start of the game. Both of them still have dialogue in parts where they aren't available so you can watch those scenes now and also take proper advantage of both of them in combat via the Tech Armor ability. Multiple combat drones can be pretty useful even against organic enemies when you know it's not gonna take 30 seconds for the squad members to recharge their powers.
>>322837236 >enemies aren't even allowed to have shields when Bao Dur is in the party >special attack can one shot enemies as easily as the MC can >bro tier 1d8 droid companion for even more damage I fucking love Exile, Bao Dur, and T3/HK as a party, I would totally go Bao Dur, T3, and HK if it were possible.
>not using level up glitch to make Mission a Jedi >level 8 scoundrel has +4 bonus to defence >when she's a level 12 Jedi she gets a further +6 to defence >put all points in DEX, giving her another +5 >best light armor in the game gives another +7 to defence while keeping +5 Dex bonus >end up with such a high defence normal enemies can't touch her unless they roll 20
>>322858797 >Isn't there that skill in Kotor2 that lets you deflect blaster bolts unarmed? Yes >Is a monk character possible? Viable even. Every character class gets huge bonuses to unarmed combat for some reason. It will also help enormously with that Echani sparring in Atris' academy.
>>322858682 The character is a PTSD engineer who made one of the biggest nukes in the game, and is barely holding himself together. Its not a facade so much as the man is pretty much dead inside His mostly monotone voice is pretty spot on, as far as i could tell. The only voice that wasnt 9/10 at least in 2 was as you said, atton's
>>322852947 I've been going through New Vegas for the first time as an afraid nerd scientist, and the only companion I have ever seen was ED-E. How the fuck do you find these other people? I would be fucked if I didn't have 9 INT and the repair skill to fix ED-E, he fights all the fights for me while I hide.
>>322861321 You just find them as you talk to people in the settlements. Actual spoilers in the spoiler about where each companion is Cass is in the Mojave Outpost barracks, to the left of the bartender Boone is in Novac, but you can only talk to him at night when he's in the dino mouth Veronica is at the 188, just standing around near the bar Rex is the King's dog and you can recruit him after dealing with Pacer and the NCR Arcade is in the Old Mormon Fort Raul is in one of the buildings at the top of Black Mountain, but you have to deal with Tabitha first Lily is at Jacobstown
>>322861545 >D-Dog instantly marks any enemies who even think about being anywhere near me >Quiet takes an eternity to get into position and mark a couple of enemies just so she can kill people I was going to interrogate or fulton You got that right. At least she isn't D-Horse I guess.
>>322859492 >Carth >being lovable He was the whiniest bitch ever, and I play pure good of heart everytime I play. I felt like I was in a fucking dead relationship with him and would beg to break up with him. Christ Canderous was such a great guy in comparison
>>322848171 >dislikes excessive fighting Who cares what he likes? Stick Firentis in your party and he's down for anything. Besides you just assign him to be an archer and leave him hidden on the battlefield anyway.
>>322867325 >>322860348 >playing KOTOR 2 for the first time >get to start off as a Jedi Oh wow okay that's cool >start investing Feats into lightsaber-only techniques >specifically avoid the feats to allow blaster deflection without a lightsaber, since surely I'll be getting a lightsaber soon, right? I'm already a Jedi Holy shit we are STILL on this fucking mining station >go and do Telos >go and do the planet with all the people and bounty hunters >have a few upgrade pieces for lightsaber >STILL don't have a fucking lightsaber to upgrade I'm level fucking eleven, when do I get my fucking lightsaber?
>>322867612 The first planet you do will always be lightsaberless. Nar Shadaa is the worst planet to do first because its the longest and therefore the least fun without the lightsaber. But you should get one not long after finishing it, and then the plot will have you drowning in lightsabers.
>>322867612 I'm on my first run too but I went to Onderon instead. Shenanigans occur so you get side tracked. I ended up getting my lightsaber a bit before making it to Onderon proper. That was around level 11 or 12 I think.
>>322835407 I always use my favorites, no matter how shit they are.
Moreover, the KotOR games are so incredibly easy that it doesn't matter who your party members are, especially in 2. I ran around with KH-47 and G0-T0 but usually killed everything in sight before they even got a chance to do much.
>pic related is my favorite character >always have him/her in my party have Frog Drop maxed for that part of the game >hear people complain about the forced fight against Lich >steamrolled his ass so hard because Quina is stupidly overpowered Then again, everybody in FF9 is on steroids and can easily do 9,999 per turn.
Wow so this thread just turned into a kotor thread lol. Dam, I really wish they made a third. IF they ever make a third I fucking swear it better not be some mmo bs. Yea you can have an online but at least have it be something like what naughty dog does. Amazing single player experience and after you finish it, play the online mode while you're at it for more fun. I didn't even touch swtor because of that. When I first heard swtor was announced, I lost my shit and was erect. As soon as it I found out it was an MMO it became clear that games from now on will never be the same. Literally lost my interest in games, they just weren't fun anymore. Now I'm going back and playing the games I never got to play growing up. Kinda makes me sad that games from up to 2 decades ago has more details, content and features than most new releases. Now that I think about it, no game this year has been able to excite me(save for mgs V for nostalgia reasons) and get me to wanna spend countless nights indulging in it. Anyway, is there some games you guys can suggest to get me more into video games again?
>>322870932 I always did the Mandalore place first and sometimes got a lightsaber before getting off the second planet of that part. I don't think there are hard rules around the lightsabers but you'll always get it at roughly the same time in the game.
>>322871001 I replayed kotor 2 over the summer and I don't even remember. I know you just get the items (easily?). For sure you'll have your lightsaber by the end if whatever planet you visit. I think I went to dantooine first btw
>>322871001 Do the quests that get you parts, like dancing for the Hutt, or a few others. The flophouse by the docks has a few quests that can help as well. Finding the one guys wife for example (or just killing him. Bring Atton along if you plan on killing him for an influence boast) or helping the Ithorian in the same area.
>>322859138 You forgot the part where he's also struggling to control the insane, child-murdering, blood-drinking, corpse-mutilating bloodlust his whole species suffers from.
So not only did he kill tons of people and nuke the very spirit out of the Mandalorians, but he ENJOYED every second of it. And he hates himself for how much he loved it and how willing he is to do it all again for you, General.
I'm getting real sick of running around Nar Shaddaa. I need to find Goto but no one tells me where to find him, and I've searched every corner of the map. I imagine I'd find him if I do this transmitter quest, but I can't find a blank transmitter card anywhere. Before I give up and look at a walkthrough, what am I missing?
>>322875886 That's terrible advice, I've already told that one merchant to go report me to the Exchange, I've already killed the entire Exchange boss and his group in the Refugee sector. What else is there? >>322875494 I don't know what sidequests are left to do. I've gone up and down the map. The only place I can't get into is the Warehouse.
