What are some games where the rebels are the bad guys?
>the people trying to overthrow a democratic government are the good guys
tiab. He turned into a galactic republic at the end of ep 3, backed by a massive militia.
>Shit ton of them
>Those fucking helmets...
>Wearing fucking vests
>Actually worse aim than the stormtroopers
>Literally get btfo'd in one of the first scenes in a New Hope
Even as a dumb kid I found it ludicrous how they only managed to shoot one stormtrooper when they had the perfect pointblank defense. 16th century arquebuses would be more effective at that range.
Star Wars is full of soldiers fighting stupidly
Standing around in the open, not using cover, fighting pitched battles in open plains with infantry legging the whole thing, foot-soldiers all mobbed up like the easiest targets on the planet
>Stormtroopers: entire star base gets destroyed by one young kid with his fucking eyes closed because they built it with a massive gaping anus
>Rebelion started by corrupt senators of the old republic because the lost power
>Working with people they used to label as criminals and outlaws
>Only mere years after the defeat of the """""evil""""" Empire, the New Republic went back to being corrupt as fuck with no real direction, almost got fucked by a small remant of the Empire
Why the fuck is the Galaxy in Star wars based on 20 century Spain?
>Every faction in Africa calls themselves by these noble names - Liberation this, Patriotic that, Democratic Republic of something-or-other... I guess they can't own up to what they usually are: the Federation of Worse Oppressors Than the Last Bunch of Oppressors. Often, the most barbaric atrocities occur when both combatants proclaim themselves Freedom Fighters.
Atleast they could build a fucking star base that blew up an entire fucking planet. I'd say that Alderaan was much more valuable than the Death Star in resources and actual Strategic Advantage.
>New Republic: Capital and your whole armada fucked from the other side of the galaxy by some teenages with anger problems
>can't understand that the galaxy is by default unstable unless ruled by an iron fist
>if the rebellion hadn't happened the empire would have brought the most stability that the Galaxy has seen in years
Metal Slug and FTL com to mind.
Alternatively, just play literally any Paradox grand strategy game ever made, ESPECIALLY Crusader Kings II.
>every rebellion is justified
Go read a history book at some point, fool.
how has this not been mentioned?
but really this game had an interesting interpretation of the Empire. You spend a lot of time doing space cop stuff and generally keeping order, you know, what the empire is supposed to be doing instead of being evil. Rebels make money through shady stuff like drug smuggling and you go after that kind of shit.
At one point your ship defects and you're like the only loyal motherfucker left, it feels good when you finally catch those assholes and you drag their leader before Vader.
