But I have a job. I don't have all day and night to co-ordinate raids and shit with guilds.
God damn, I fucking hate WoW-clone endgame design. The whole fucking game's about questing by yourself, occasionally joining randoms to clear dungeons. Then BAM, you reach max level and suddenly you're expected to fucking plan hardcore raids a week ahead and take the game super fucking seriously, if you want to get anywhere.
>>322799416 >making friends >in modern MMOs >"Hey, anyone want to do the next raid with me?" >"..." >talk to some random guy in city or in quest area >"..." You literally can't do anything about this. And it's not even their fault, MMOs effectively removed the relevence of "multiplayer" part, now it's all about the great hero, you, saving the world, along with other great heroes, yous.
>>322800475 This. Ever since the Chad Thundercocks from the libtard college frats started making video games, the industry has stopped caring about connecting people together and just expect to have brought your own EBIN BRO ARMY xD along for multiplayer games.
>>322800475 Is that how you make friends IRL? Hey random stranger wanna go play some football?
Join random dungeon, comment on something IRL or in the game in a funny and welcoming manner, some guy responds and you enjoy the banter. Hey I'm adding you to my friend's list. Cool. Chat with him and do stuff with him later. Relationship builds slowly. Ebin!
Like you can add at least 2 people to your list like that and you can chat with 3-4 people while idling about somewhere. You can have at least 50 friends in 1 month or something.
That just makes the MMO a glorified chatroom. Before you needed to socialize with people to find groups, and coordinate against content, and to make money, or get help or favors. Now the socializing is superfluous to the game.
>>322798806 I achieved this only after many iterations of drama bullshit. All of it was caused by petty women generating bullshit where there was no need for it. Call me a sexist, MRA, whatever, but honestly if you want to make friends in MMOs, avoid women. The ones that play MMOs are usually attention whores that suck at the game ad just want to be showered in beta praise. And that's the other thing, the fucking beta orbiters are just as bad for sperging out and losing their shit over the "promise" of some internet poon.
Eventually if you filter out the trash you'll end up with some bros you can relax and enjoy the game with. Slightly hypocritical but there were some girls in my group at the end, but they didn't talk about it or use it as a "selling point", in fact they hardly spoke at all which was probably for the best
>>322802972 Drama is bound to happen over anything. Loot is the biggest cause in my experience.
I did lose one guild over a girl though, the rest of us (minus the girl and a her satellites) packed up and moved on together so we only lost the name I guess. I had several friends who were girls and were cool though. One of them we used to bully relentlessly for being a vegan.
Fuck the specialisation gating system in an attept to make crafters buddy up with each other, fuck those who use the social argument in its defense, fuck Yoshi for his hateboner against omnicrafters because he himself is a hack, and fuck you.
>>322803415 >Drama is bound to happen Yeah, it always, always does, 100% I remember one guild leader who had beef with another one, lucky for him he had his way around words and the other guild leader (of another guild ofc) was a girl, he hooked up with her, got her pics, got her account info, then stripped the character butt naked, sold all her shit and that's why we became publicly hated.
>>322804787 The entire reason shit like this happens is because people treat the game as more than what it is. They let it become their lives, so when something bad happens to them in-game, it's as if it happened to them directly. You should avoid people like this.
>>322806805 you can try to get over your anxiety on online multiplayer games can't you though? It's the easiest medium to realize that noone can do shit to you anyway, you can just skip to the next game or group
MMORPGS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A REFUGE FOR THE SOCIALLY MALADJUSTED. THE LITERAL NO-FRIENDERS. THE ONES WHO MAKE /R9K/ SEEM LIKE HEALTHY SOCIAL PEOPLE. THE ONES WHO NEVER STEP AWAY FROM THEIR COMPUTERS AND PREFER THE GAME TO THE HELL THAT IS REAL LIFE. JUST LIKE IT WAS IN THE DAYS OF EVERQUEST AND UO.
FUCK GIVE ME BACK MY COMFY VIRTUAL WORLD YOU FUCKING NORMIES
>>322802972 Absolutely. The problem with women in any sort of group activity is that they inadvertedly create social pressure. This social pressure completely ruins the otherwise excellent feeling of teamwork among a group.
Add in the fact that the majority of women in MMOs are attention-whores, manipulative, whiney, and present countless other annoyances.
>>322810890 It was actually pretty good originally. Not great, but certainly fun. The updates ruined it, the bigbang update was aptly named (not a good thing), and unfortunately, reboot was named thus purely to try to con old players into coming back.
>>322798427 No, silly, you're supposed to grind and powerlevel through all the content, min/max and bitch at everyone who doesn't, be an antisocial dick, and then demand more content to power through because it's become your life and you can't give it up.
>>322816990 you have content made for you to ride like carnival attractions (various types of quests, dungeons, raids, bgs etc.). Compare wow to Eve, where nearly all the content and action emerges from players and what you make out of the limited stuff you were given.
