The world is interesting, the combat is a huge improvement from previous elder scrolls, You can build many different types of characters, lots of replayablity, the list goes on. I loved skyrim.

you know the difficulty slider is just a setting for how tedious you want the game to be right
it's not actually hard, especially since you can bypass the difficulty slider with companions/summons
