Snow is such a retard, but I cannot bring myself to hate him for some reason.
Does anyone else feel this way?
Hope is such an annoying cunt though. He gets (understandably) upset that Snow let his Mother die, but instead of just talking to Snow about it, Hope goes into this dark emo phase.
Hope gets somewhat redeemed later on even though all his dialogue is cheesy as fuck, I suspect bad localization contributed to most the cringiest scenes.
Honestly if FFXIII had come out a little later and the cast weren't all ridiculous cover models a lot of people here probably would've called them tumblr-tier because they're all completely one-dimensional, inept dumbasses who somehow manage to save the world through whining, fucking around, and FRIENDSHIP.
Seriously, name ONE moment in the game where ANYBODY does anything impressive or admirable. Sazh was at least relatable, and more realistic than the others(him confronting Vanille at Nautilus was probably one of the only decent cutscenes in the game), but even he never does anything that makes you go, "wow that took guts" or "gee i wish i could do that"
No but I mean when he says stuff like "our plan is to hit them hard and then hit them again!", is it to showcase his irresponsibility or did writers think it sounds cool so they put that in?
>get to that part in the game where sazh is going to murder vanille because it's all her fault that his son got fucked
That was bullshit. She literally did nothing wrong. Maybe if he wasn't such a bad father he wouldn't of let dahj off his leash to roam around unattended.
Snow felt like he should have starred in a more light hearted game, and he went through a lot of shit because of it. It's hard not to sympathize with him.
I feel like the only person here that liked Vanille, but you're dead wrong about Snow and Sazh.
So where does he change? Where does he learn his lesson? Where does he grow as a character? As I recall the party literally saves Cocoon by rushing straight into Barthandelus' trap and saves the day by not one, but TWO deus ex machina.
Even his little speech after Hope's failed "operation" just amounts to "I'm sorry kid but I'm pretty much just going to spout vague platitudes at you and then continue fucking around with no clue what I'm doing"
why does he ahs to grow as a character? the ones that grow are lightning and hope, the rest of the party stay as they are from the very start.
Not every character has to evolve.
Worst monk/bare knuckle fighter archetype in final fantasy. Even worse than the old man in 4 who got ill and left the party. Then again who didn't leave the party in 4?
I think he's stupid, but he's so hot.
Well there's an awful lot of time for him to do so in a game that can run as long as XIII so there's an argument that more than just Lightning and Hope could have.
He certainly starts to show signs of the trauma he's undergone in XIII-2 and LR at least I think that's what they were going for.
Everything about the XIII trilogy confused me so much. It was a crazy rollercoaster that I have a love hate relationship with.
So he gets to continue being a clueless asshole who gets people killed with his ineptitude?
Also, morality aside, forgive me for actually wanting heroes and idealism in Final FANTASY rather than idiots who go around parading that there are.
I sincerely hope this is bait
Vanille was shallow I'll admit but I can't really dislike someone that's trying their best to stay upbeat in such a negative game
plus her voice made my dick diamonds, so there's no way I'm speaking objectively
There was space for him to grow, but he didn't, like most people, people tend to change little, and even less if they are succesful, and snow, in the end, is, he recovers his waifu and saves the planet and all that so what reason does he have to change? so someoen else besides him does not get hurt?
For idealism and heroes you get Lightning and Hope though, and Vanille and Fang for sacrifice.
Why hasn't Snow done it yet?
Tracer of memories is awkward in this regard
>Serah is 21 year old college teacher
>Snow is a biker that picks up random girls
What the fuck are these perverts doing?
She probably blew him after he proposed while they were still on the bike.
He actually proposed to her before that
Remember that cutscene on the beach where he starts yelling
>SHE SAID YES
Also there's the plain impracticality of doing that on a flying bike
He might have just fucked while she hugged him
You're mistaking flashiness for effectiveness.
Despite all of the action in the cutscenes you mentioned, was anything ever accomplished? It wasn't even viscerally impressive because none of the antagonists are properly established. Yes PSICOM soldiers wear weird creepy masks and have sciencemagic portals to summon cuhrazee cyberbeasts or whatever, but it's all flash and no substance. Final Fantasy has always had outrageous designs and elements, but the critical part is that they're always grounded in very human, personal stories. XIII jizzes explosions and effects in your face and just expects you to create context on your own instead of trying to craft any semblance of a coherent world or character arc.
>he thinks 'muh waifu' is better than 'im a nihilist with a wicked sense of humor'
In all honesty Caius could've been an interesting character if you actually got to see his evolution throughout the eras from a tired, worldweary but ultimately decent person to a complete psychotic shell of a human being, but no, he always has the same personality no matter where you find him because REASONS. Also come on man his VA sucks ass and doesn't fit the character at all.
See this is actually an inversion of what I was mentioning. Enemies in XIII are actually fairly realistic compared to previous entries in that you're never attacking sentient houses or implausibly huge monsters or anything like that. Then, all of a sudden, it completely breaks the theming set up by every other encounter in the game, at a critical story moment no less.
It would've been fine if it was literally any other FF because the theming, tone, and technical limitations of the time allowed you to basically segregate the more fantastic elements and battles from the core story, but in XIII it comes out of nowhere and seems ridiculous as a result.
wow it's almost like you're incredibly oversimplifying and underselling what his motivation was
Yeah, I do think him seeing his waifu die over and over and leading him to madness makes for a better villain than generic 'I want to be powerful and rule/destroy the world because I can'
He gave leadership over to Lightning, bruh. He admitted that he's in way over his head but the alternative would be to just give up, so he's not going with the alternative. He was optimistic enough to get Lightning to believe that they could come out of this, which was all they needed for Etro to help them, and then he let her take the lead. That's where he grew as a character.
I don't really follow actors themselves but I'm vaguely aware Caius' is of some repute; I think my point still stands though as I was speaking more to the appropriateness than his technical skill. If anything it's Square's fault.
I'm not even "oversimplifying" anything. Go on, what was his complex, gripping motivation beyond "Boo hoo I have to watch this ONE GIRL(who's never even properly developed or given any character) die over and over so I want to destroy ALL OF EXISTENCE"
You say "gravitas," I say "inexplicably British-sounding puffed-up douchebag"
Say what you will about the voice acting in XIII, at least there was some attempt at mirroring the lore with real-world dialects(Vanille and Fang coming from the vile and primitive Pulse having Australian accents, a former prison colony and still largely one of the most wild countryside in the world). For that matter, why don't Caius and Yeul have similar accents? You could argue "muh tribes" or that Pulse used to be different in the past, but we never get a chance to meet any of the other tribes or learn anything else about Pulse because we never visit a time/location like that. A wasted opportunity on both fronts, because frankly the "worldbuilding" in XIII-2 is practically nonexistent.
Hell even his character design doesn't make sense, he looks exactly like the false-stereotype Final Fantasy villain with his gaudy, skin-tight armor and unwieldy equally-gaudy "sword-like melee implement." How does this fit a more broken, human-centric character? As ridiculous as previous antagonists' designs were, there was a least some nod to lore or character backstory: Sephiroth conformed to the typical bishounen elite rival/antagonist, Kuja chose a lifestyle of decadence and flamboyance to rebel against his overly pragmatic and emotionless homeworld, hell even Seymour's outfit at least looked vaguely ceremonial and his hair mirrored the geometric and textural elements of Guadosalam and the Guado.
Noel should have hit that shit.. but he was too busy chasing after Caius's 40 psychic lolis
My final team was Light/Fang/Vanille
Lightning is good at everything, Fang hits like a truck and Vanille was okay. Sazh was too far behind in stats and Snow wasn't needed to tank.
His Blitz attack is unique in that instead of doing 1 AOE attack he shoots a spread of 20 odd bullets.
The thing is on large enemies all 20 shots hit and it's by far the strongest regular attack in the game.
He's still not the optimal character in battles but he does have his niche if you want to bring him to superboss fights.
lightning doesnt look that damn hot she is too skinny in the game, got no ass... no tits and every female character in the game has the exact same body type...
He's one of the sexiest FF men to ever exist and one of the few hunky beefcake FF men to exist. Plus he's older and has stubble, you can't go wrong with some stubble.
Not sure if femanons exist or just gayanon
It's been a couple years since I've played but Sazh was a solid back-up if I wanted to switch out the main team.
Lightning was the best character overall.
Vanille has her death spam
Fang was the best tank and Highwind can hit for ridiculous numbers
Sazh was buff city and his Blitz gave him very high damage on certain targets
Hope was just too squishy to bring into hard fights
Snow was the master of none, his magic was weak and he didn't hit very hard. He could tank a hit but Fang just as tanky and better at everything else so why bother using him.
What the fuck. What is wrong with you sir, I'm in lecture and the guy behind me is dying of laughter cause what he saw I just watched.
Because he's an heroic fool with an undying hope who's willing to go to hell and back to save the girl he loves and help those in need. And he's also strong as fuck and charismatic.
But to be honest Snow doesn't really match with Serah. He has a lot more chemistry with her sister.
33cm = 13.2 inches
Imagine that inside you up to the balls.
I knew he was at least as buff, but Gladio's the same height as Snow? Oh damn, I know who I'm shipping now.
Regis is also taller than Gladio judging by his height in relation to Noctis
They've been showcasing Regis in the massive promo posters and billboards even more than they have any other character recently tho
Well, from Tabata's recent Examiner interview:
>"One of the important threads of the story in Final Fantasy XV is that tale of how Noctis goes from being a young prince in waiting to becoming the king of the country. That tale is a really big part of the game.”
>The story of Final Fantasy XV will focus on Noctis and his “deep personal journey.” Tabata says he will “grow and develop as a person, which puts you in a place to experience that emotional journey with him.”
It's Noctis' story through and through, but Regis is part of the historical and personal story behind him.
Would you enjoy being spit-roasted by Snow and Gladiolus?
>implying Snow doesn't get laid much more than Serah
>implying Snow didn't bang all the college sluts after they saw him those times he came to pick up Serah
Noel only wants Yuel
Serah however was way to open with him
I dislike 13 on a whole and fucking hated what they did to the summons but I lost my shit when he got a motorcycle made out of bitches.
Also thought it was funny how he kept proclaiming to be the hero and liked how he used fisticuffs
