Like there is an enemy like you described blocking a treasure so obviously olimar wouldn't be able to hide from it so he couldn't go. But you could send the green pikmin to go get it. This would also work better for multitasking things.

This idea of black Pikmin with slightly frayed leaves got me thinking about the wars that ants fight in real life. I don't think it would apply to the main game very well, but if they decide to go the Pikmin 3 route and include another arcadey bit of side content, it might work out as some sort of multiplayer arena thing.
It would clearly take some hashing out, but the idea of testing your ability to command Pikmin directly against another person sounds lovely to me.
Also give me high risk high reward nighttime mode.
To the anon that suggested a derivation of Pikmin with a camoflague ability, what if they just had exaggeratedly large flowers when fully leveled that if grouped together give the illusion of a simple pile of flowers, so you can safely navigate when enemies backs are turned.

When it comes to making Pikmin OC, I'm all over that shit.

They're least likely to be eaten due to the bristly hairs, but are favored by the Hairy Bulborb just like any other pikmin type.

A game that uses all of the Pikmin, includes the dungeon-crawling of 2 and a solid online multiplayer base. I don't even care if there isn't a new type (even though I want orange really bad), I just want an awesome plot like >>322694279.

Like you could use them to do a single task once, but their gimmick is that they do it much more efficiently than a group of Pikmin. Could have stuff where some instakill enemies enemies, others build things near instantly, and still others carry things a lot faster. You'd probably only be able to get them from candypop flowers, to add balance.

Like if there were seven types available at once and you wanted to be ready for anything, you'd need six groups of 15 and one group of 10, and if you encountered anything that needed more than 15 of a specific color you'd be fucked if you didn't know in advance

Although rational I know it's just a result of lazy story writing or desperate lore connection. Since the premise of Pikmin 2 is collecting treasure to pay a debt, they have to just say that the race itself is obsessed with collecting treasure as a way of shoehorning why Olimar and Louie are there in the first place. The Pikmin Lore faggot in me hate this reasoning, but I choose not to think about it too much.

I was really, really hoping for Pikmin 3 to throw me a bone. I was severely disappointed, but on the bright side most of the new bosses were based. Vehemoth Phosbat and Scornet Maestro were incredible.
