Witcher games go on sale constantly so you shouldn't have to worry. Also you should definitely finish the others before playing 3. Some people say it's not required but I beg to differ. You will be missing out on so much.

All the Metro Redux games and all the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. Very pleased with Metro and haven't started Stalker yer.
