Does anyone here know about Fallout lore? I understand there was a resource war. Did the production of electric or hybrid cars accelerate, or did people just pay a lot more for gas for a long time? Or did the U.S. gas price not change much because of Alaska, Mexico, and Canada? It seems like there are a lot of cars in the Fallout games.
Also, did cars explode after being shot in any other Fallout games besides 4?
In 3 which was a major departure from 1 and 2.
To answer your question the USA and Chinese went to war over the last remaining oil deposits. Electric cars were a recent development as of 2070 the last pre war decade. By this point petrol vehicles were a luxury and gas cost ten times what it does now.
FO3 and 4 have major lore issues in that bethesda goes for what is marketable and iconic, not what makes sense.
So yes there shouldn't be so many cars around the wasteland but there are.
>That doesn't happen IRL right?
What doesn't ?... cars making small thermonuclear explosions when shot a few times in the driver side door ?
Yeah that actually does happen IRL be really careful OP.
It's cool. That's the only reason. The car in FO2 Was pure electric and powered with the same batteries you used for energy weapons.
See above, the Chysalus Highwayman had more in common with the Tesla than Ford's proposed nuclear car.
