DQV easily one of the best RPG's I've ever played.

My first DQ was IX and I got tired of it after 8 or so hours, something didn't click. Maybe V will be different.

Because I'm going through the games chronologically, and I burned out at 3 after I changed classes of my party and had to grind 30 levels to beat the final boss. I'll finish it someday soon.

Playing it now on my 3DS thanks to my R4. It's really fun. Still early since I just got done exposing the fake queen and lost Harry.

Any recommended early party members besides Slime Knight-bro? I might be overleveled since I spent quite a bit of time trying to get Healslimes and MAYBE a Metal Slime in the Tower, to no success.

I have the 3D PS2 japanese-only edition with a translation patch but I just haven't gotten around to playing it. All I've done is get through the opening section with your father.
