sh2proxy has worked perfectly fine for me.
Where did you get your game? And is it the Director's Cut version? Because it needs to be in order for the sh2proxy to work.

I'd try re-installing the game and then applying the fix again. Here's the SH PC Guide's latest version, will post DL Links next

Yeah it's the Director's Cut one, downloaded the djDevastate release.
Any suggestions if I'm going for another one?

And in case someone's once again new to this PC gaming stuff: Use a program like DaemonTools Lite to mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate.
The "sh2proxy" fix works as a no-cd crack as well, and is included in the pack.

these are the versions I've been using for ages / made out of my own copies, and the sh2fix works great.

Notice that occasionally, the game with sh2proxy just fails to start (leaves just black screen). If this happens, shut down the process and restart it. It will eventually work just fine.

Yeah that's what I meant for "crash" it worked like 1 time out of ten which I assume isn't how it's meant to be.

Yes I did, one of my favorite games.
Jumping in the middle of things is dumb even if they aren't related storywise.

glad to hear. And I agree, though I'd dare to claim that all of the SH1-4 actually ARE connected in a way. The cast just kinda changes.
