Not like it has much competition, how many pure western games can you think of off the top of your head?

Red Dead Revolver, Gun, Desperados, Call of Juarez, anything else?

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is also an incredibly good western game, although not very well known because it got somewhat buried due to sharing its title with a bunch of other games that were indeed mediocre.

RDR is still king, obviously.

Great game for it's time, but you honestly can't say that Red Dead Redemption doesn't completely blow Gun out of the water.

Red Dead has a better open world, better story, better gunplay, better graphics, and better voice acting.

The only way I could conceive of somebody thinking Gun was a superior game was if they were so blinded by nostalgia that you need a seeing-eye cane.

I always has one nagging issue with Gun.

Remember that one bear fight in the beginning? With the Elk that you never see ever again in the whole game? That really bothered me. I wish they had more random animals, and maybe random bear attacks, but no, just bandits, some coyotes, and literally two mountain lions.
