/v/ what's the best Monster Hunter game? Hardmode: no "muh

I enjoy 4u alot.
But I think it was 3 where the underwater was super fluid. I loved it

I really disliked underwater combat. I can't tell you how many times I was carted by the unrefined controls not being able to tell which way I was dodging. Plus underwater combat made things incredibly slow and the trick half the time was to bring monsters up on land where they were incredibly nerfed compared to underwater.

Freedom Unite is probably my favorite just because of the sheer number of different monsters present, though that might be nostalgia talking because I haven't picked it up in close to ten years. 4U's my favorite if it is.

what's a good monster hunting game but not actually monster hunter?
