get black mesa if you want an aesthetic experience in the world of half-life and you can put up with a wobbly difficulty curve

Half Life 1 still has better gameplay.

Original and black Mesa feel like different games. Play original first then black Mesa if you like it.

Play the original first and disable the fucking disgusting "HD" textures and models. Black Mesa is worth playing after.

Black Mesa is actually more frustrating than Half-Life 1. Some of the platforming that worked for Half-Life 1 just feels horrible in Black Mesa.

Also the retards decided it was a good idea to set the MP5 back to 30 rounds to make it more realistic and then added more troops in so you're constantly reloading.
