Reminder that this game's limited edition is currently #6 on the Amazon vita game top sellers and the regular edition is currently #12.
Why haven't you bought your copy yet?
Why haven't you bought EDF 4.1 or EDF 2 yet?
Threadly reminder that Towa is OK, and your waifu is best girl, including NPCs (Except the fat girl, she's just the worst).
I just got the Lionheart Edition at the game store today. They said someone ordered it two weeks ago and didn't pick it up, so I figured I would buy it.
What actually is this because I have no idea?
We know, Anon. We all love her, too.
What does doing the bonding events with non-party members do? I just did one for Sara since she's best girl, but it didn't give me any Link Points or whatever.
Oh, are those what are in the DLC? I need to get those, then.
Some references and characters from the other games show up. Heck, in the Prologue dungeon (not the endgame one that you start off in) you see a party member from the Trails in the Sky games make an appearance, and it's kind of a spoiler for SC.
Sara and Crow have hidden link points that are visible when they're party members (more obvious with Crow since he joins for the last 30-40% of the game). Towa might have them too but isn't playable.
You'll miss some references and won't know the details about some characters (like Bleublanc and Olivier), but it's nothing game-breaking.
Nope, it's still worth playing.
>vita not being discontinued
it must have sold like 10 copies to desperate weebs, nice bait though
They didn't sub victory quotes and its clear the soundtrack was written to have dialogue over it. "Just turn the voices off" isn't a viable solution. The game feels soulless with voices turned off.
I got the game as a gift and am enjoying it, but I don't blame anyone who refuses to buy it due to lack of Japanese voices.
That's such a cheap, nonsensical comeback.
Video games have changed. I had no problem playing through Trails in the Sky FC with no voices because the game was originally written to not have voice overs. The soundtrack was written to be all the audio stimulation you need.
The soundtrack in Cold Steel is background music. It's written to be spoken over, an accompaniment to the spoken dialogue. That's why even in unspoken scenes, text dialogue is still accompanied with constant sound effects. It feels perfectly fine in those scenes with the sound effects, but when all you have is silence with background music, it feels soulless.
This is also not a valid point. People who are shitposting about something as specific as dual audio clearly care about the game itself. That's why they're complaining. If they didn't care they would shitpost in more blanket, less specific statements, about it being "weeaboo" or "shovelware", but complaining about something like dual audio means they had an interest in buying it, and looked into it further to find that it didn't have dual audio. That's a potential lost sale for Falcom or Xseed.
I like that the gate on the erebonian border in crossbell is litered with Rixia posters. Heinrich speaks the truth.
>Implying my favorite kiseki girl isn't the undisputed best girl of all kiseki
>Why haven't you bought your copy yet?
Preordered it over a month ago, just received it today.
How'd you not know about it when you post her so much?
You forgot Renne also being a best girl.
>read that you could play the 3rd pc version with a text hooker
>finally find a download after hours of looking
>set up agth
>set up atlas
>hook them all together
>people say to use an h-code
>now instead of just not grabbing the text the game just crashes
>2 hours later delete everything
and that is how I wasted my morning today.
>We want to appeal to a broader audience.
>not posting superior Evolution Estelle
No really, I recalled fapping to that one in the past, but couldn't Identify it from a singe cropping. I was kind of hoping that would be something new.
She's curling her foot
Well there is a new one partially. The next part was already posted in this thread earlier.
Fuck you ace
>mfw I had her holding the scythe spell thing since I've got her
>see this wen going to save nobilityhater
Too bad the first part doesn't have any actual sex.
Holy shit. Really? Never actually played these games a whole lot btw. I just thought this game was some dumb cash in spin off and that they would make an actual game later. Is that the only change or is there more to it?
I found out Crow is C cause of the weapon he wields in one of the Sen 2 pictures which I saw on one of the video OST
I already knew too, so I made a point of focusing on him as often as possible. It made the ending and how shattered Rean was pretty good, because anything you do with him once the festival prep begins is obviously an attempt to make a clean break, but he's not very good at it.
I cant put my finger on what draws me to this game so much. I've already put in 40 hours in 4 days. Haven't gone this hard on a jrpg since persona 4, it's probably the similar game formula
For me it was all the mystery
>who is C and why does he cover his face/voice? Something was clearly going on there.
>what's up with the old schoolhouse and how was it connected to the cat?
>These divisions between provincial armies and the armies of the empire kept me wanting to know more as well
Just to name a few.
Were you able to dance with anyone outside your group? I though I maxed out Towa but she wasn't an option. Also the ending sucks balls.I might do a 2nd run where I just choose the guys.
If you flirt with him hard enough you can also choose Crow (or any other guy). I feel like there are requirements other than getting to level 5 though, because I had people at 5 who weren't available.
Yeah, it kept me up until like 6 in the morning after playing all day. It also makes me want to talk to every NPC since I might get something out of it, even if it's something as simple as piecing together events before they show up in quests and the like.
Maybe. Who knows? Maybe we get to be evil instead.
Not that guy, but when it's a direct continuation of a game that sold very poorly, and basically requires you to have played another game that sold very poorly and that very few people who played CS1 actually played (SC) and several that aren't localized, I doubt it will do all that well, unfortunately.
There's shit loads to cover in Sen3 since the first two games only opened more questions without answering any.
All they did was covering the civil war and the major developments of said war were already revealed in Ao.
>Old School Building exploration in chapter 3
>First time you get to construct your own party from all the available characters at that point
>Attack party consists of Rean, Alisa, Jusis, and Laura, with Machias on Support
>One shot or severely cripple every standard encounter with an S-Break
>Every turn Alisa gets, restores big chunks of craft points with Blessed Arrow
>If on the rare occasion no one has an S-Break at the start of an encounter, Jusis just uses Aerial for same effect
>If Jusis runs low on EP, switch out Alisa for Machias for two battles to use Energy Shot and get him back up to full
This is pretty good.
For Class 7 members (excluding Crow/Millium)

>released just a few days ago
You mean almost two weeks ago
And #6 is only ONE VERSION of the game. The other version is on the list seperately as well.
Plus the games have been on the lists for months ever since they started taking preorders
Lloyd is a constellation now.
It was designed as an entry point for new fans. It begins the Erebonia arc with a whole new cast. You'll be fine. At worst you won't know who bleublanc is and you wont grin when you see prince Oliviert for the first time.
Rean's motivation in CS1...is to find a motivation, which is why he enrolled in Thors. Honestly that is a much more relatable thing to real life (especially in the sort of academy setting they have going) than anything Lloyd has.
also despite the what you'd expect from the setting, Lloyd is way more harem insert/all the girls on his dick than Rean ever is
in the highlands, did some fishing by the hermits house. when do i get a better rod? this basic rod only lets me fish 3 times
also when do i get laura back? i miss her crazy damage. gaius is doin aite tho
hows the steam game? trails in the sky?
Lloyd has a goal, a job, is actually smart and pretty much discover the twists before everyone rather than needing to be infodumped and his whole harem aura is played in a pretty funny way
Rean is just a LN protagonist played straight
Both Trails in the Sky games are good. The second TiTS game is widely considered one of the best in the series.
If you like Cold Steel then you owe it to yourself to play through the story of bracers Estelle and Joshua. Prince Oliviert is a playable character and hilarious as fuck
You get the deluxe rod from ranking up from fishing.
I'd assume it's the same for the next ranks.
Just about hit the Nord Highlands.
Some fishing spots only have 3, you have to use groundbait to refresh a spot
After you catch 6 different types you can buy the 2nd rod (earliest chance to get that rod is Chapter 3), and after you catch 12 different types of fish you can trade in for the 3rd rod
Mishy is the best character in the entire series. Just wanted to let you know that.
should i get trails in the sky then on steam? it's like 10 bucks??
sequel is more pricey though
> Lloyd is way more harem insert/all the girls on his dick than Rean ever is
Loyd is a people magnet, that's true, although the game mocks him for that.
In Sen2 every girl suddenly jumps Rean dick for little to no reason (the maid, the princess, that black rabbit girl, etc...)
Mishy is too cute to be punchable.
What did I tell you about posting shit pictures. Lloyd harem is the best harem anyways
>random fuck who shows up like twice total through any kiseki game That's even been released in english
>somehow worthy of kloe's affection
This better not actually be a thing why would they shoehorn a random pairing like that
>asking for the opinion of nipfags
You know they have shit taste, right? They hated sen. They think lloyd is a good character. They call that crossbell slut best girl.
Never ask for the opinions of nipfags.
How do you know Lloyd isn't a good character when you havent' touched Zero or Ao? How do you know Rixia isn't a good character when you haven't touched Zero or Ao? How can you judge Sen objectively when you haven't touched the game everyone compares it to (Zero)?
The whole prison break section had better character development than the all of the sen games.
>This is what Oliver actually believes
how do level up bonuses and growth work in TOCS?
is it based on what quartz you have equipped on the character?
also are there some quartz that are simply better than others and i should be focused on leveling?
got the following set up right now in nord highlands
Scepter level 3
Falco level 2
Mistral level 2
Aries level 3
Moebius level 3
Yes, some are just better. Aries is really good once you max it out and pretty good before then. The item one (moebius?) is also good when it can do aoe items. You get megalith late, and it's pretty broken.
Say what you want, but it's clear that lloyd is a bland self-insert protagonist and his waifus have even less personality than the sen girls
>generic gary stu
>Rean is more interesting
He is an special snowflake in every way. He's has his power of DARKNESS, a unique giant robot, basically a prince, trained to be good at a super special style of sword techniques, and for some reason everybody like him to the point where the villains would suck his dick and compliment him.
been using scepter on rean the whole time, am i missing out by not using Force?
Also, Emma has been using Aries and she has almost 1000 EP at level 27, while the next highest is 560 EP on rean, do quartz change level growths?
Crossbell is automatically better because it has Estelle and Renne and the Cold Steel games don't.
EP is determined by the cost to open each Orbment slot. Characters with less lines get more EP. The trade-off is that in the Sen games, that's the only bonus to having a single line since the orbment system is fucked.
I think growths are pretty fixed. Equip people with master quartz that fits what you want them to do. Aries is good because it grants infinite EP if you attack with it and can stack with water bell.
Aries restores EP at higher levels? I thought that was Mirage???
This. The entire series is a snowflake convention. The overarching plot would fall apart without all the sues and stus buttressing everything.
I think it's aries. Water element and returns EP as a percentage of damage dealt. At max level it also cuts time.
There is no doubt that Estelle is best protagonist and best girl in general.
I was just calling out lloydfags for their obsession with a boring slut and a generic gary stu
Holy shit, I've been playing TitS SC, and I just got to this part. Why is this game so good? Why is there only one chapter to go?
Oh. I was wondering when someone would finally bring him up.
>tfw people who play Cold Steel before Trails in the Sky won't be shocked by this turn of events
On the other hand, it might be interesting to have played Cold Steel first and then get to play a game with Oliviert as a playable character.
Just a different perspective on things, I guess.
That's not so much what I'm talking about, since he could tell Joshua was smitten with her from the get-go. It's more the fact that you can tell he's a pretty shitty father from the fact that his own daughter thinks he's a complete fuck-up. It's implied that he spends too much of his time on work.
Actually it's the opposite.
She only does it because she's so innocent and doesn't even think about something like that. She wasn't trying to show off anything.
You can skip them, but you also don't need to grind. I've been skipping battles left and right and so far the game feels like easy mode even though I'm playing on hard. There's always a shortage of mira and sepith but it doesn't matter because you can just spam crafts in every battle.
>being shocked by this ever
They were telegraphing it for ages. It's obvious to anyone paying attention that he's an extremely important person in disguise even in the first game. It's nice that they saved it for a good moment, but it wasn't some legitimately hidden detail that suddenly made sense later.
Rean will marry Valimar. Also does the final boss get any harder cause this thing was piss easy.
The final school dungeon boss is a wuss because the max affection bond events happen after you clear that dungeon and you might roll back to a previous save if you want to max someone else
>Lets a demon be her teacher.
Them Brights are crazy I tell you!
And his hundreds of allies and alliances
And his master swordsmanship that didn't diminish when he changed his weapon to a staff
And his brilliant strategic mind
And his flying dragon
>Adopts an Enforcer as her daughter
Estelle isn't very
I think Estelle gets that from her mother, actually.
She'll die off screen just like
You could get the PSP version physical of FC, but no luck on SC and 3rd if they come out. Either import the japanese versions and pirate the english ones, or suck it up and just buy digital.
>tfw about to finish 3rd
It's been good with the twists.
>We want the Fursona 5 audience
Shut up Falcom. We know you have a boner for Towa.
This guy should be a secret character.
Depends what you are looking for. Is it more entertaining than Tales of Xillia 2? No. Does it require the same dedication to multiple games to have any idea of what is going on? Yes.
>taller and bigger
Isn't that redundant? They both mean the same thing, right?
I tend to avoid anything that I don't enjoy.
Being the main character using katana, while surrounded by multiple girls is one of the things I don't enjoy.
>Cassius correctly predicts the need to
save his kids with a dragon
strategy to beat Erebonia in the war ten years ago
>manages to counter
the Enforcers abduction plot of Kloe and the Queen despite no indication of what they would do with the Orbments out
>somehow his daughter and adopted son fucking go flying over his head
>doesn't figure it out until they announce Renne is getting a little sibling
A weeb game on the vita that gets 400+ replies everyday?
Is this game actually good or something because I remember you guys laughing at how generic it looked when it was announced and the cold steel meme
It's probably a mixture of both reasons. The sudden launch and only 30 percent of people finishing the game.
You basically want to use an S-Break any time you want to do large amounts of damage without waiting for your turn to come up.
Personally, I rarely use S-Crafts when it is that character's turn. Seems like a waste. For example, if it's Rean's turn, I won't just use his S-Craft. I will do a normal attack AND THEN immediately use the S-Break.
well, yeah, you can use it to steal turn bonuses as well, but there isn't always a turn bonus TO steal. So holding onto 100-200 CP and waiting for turn bonuses is not always the best way to go, in fact it's kind of a waste.
I use them quickly and then start building up CP again.
You generally want to S-Break when you can get benefits from taking an enemies spot on the turn bar.
Lets like there's an attack boost for the enemy and you S-Break before the enemy's turn and get it yourself. That's what I mean.
>You generally want to S-Break when you can get benefits from taking an enemies spot on the turn bar.
YES, using them to steal an opponent's spot on the turn bar is a good idea. HOWEVER, you don't want to hold onto all that CP and wait for an opportunity to do that. It is a waste.
The fact is that S-Crafts/S-Breaks do A LOT of damage. You want to use them ASAP, then immediately start building up more CP so you can do them again.
Do not sit on 200 CP waiting for a turn bonus to come up. That's fucking stupid. S-Crafts/S-Breaks do a lot of damage - Way more than any other attack you can use. Use your S-Breaks as soon as you can and then start building up CP so you can use them again.
The former. Ideally but really it's up to you as how you want to use S-breaks.
Admittedly I'm thinking more SC then CS when it comes to this..because CS is generally considered an easier game anyway.
>Should I use them immediately at 100 CP?
Not necessarily. There IS a significant boost at 200CP.
If you need immediate damage, use them at 100CP. If you don't then build up 200CP and then use them. If you see a turn bonus like a critical attack or something coming up, THEN you can sit on it for a little bit and use it at the right time.
Otherwise, sitting on it and waiting for a critical turn is dumb and a waste.
>Yfw Cold Steel II, Tokyo Xanadu and Ys 8 all release in 2016
Get a load of all these Vita cucks.
>Also, wasn't it supposed to be loaded with insufferable characters?
At worst I hear talk about the story if anything.
