I really like Senran Kagura SV and EV, but Im not really into how Flanderized the characters have become in EV and ESPECIALLY in SK2.

Valkyrie Drive is just like Senran Kagura, except the combat is much more polished, and every girl feels really different, and there are no copy/paste girls. And on top of that, the characters all have good personality, but without being annoying caricatures like the SK girls have become. Basically I would just say VD is SK but better in every single aspect.

You have the Circle button as a separate button for you launcher. You can either hold it or tap it. A pink ring will close in on you and if you press Circle again, you can do a follow-up attack. You can do this a few times before the character automatically slams the enemy down. As you use Drive more times within a stage, your combo tree slightly changes and you get more launchers.

The game calls your dash Phantom. You can charge it up at anytime by holding down X and it's tied to a few things. If you use Phantom after launching an enemy airborne and doing an air combo, you start a "Phantom Dance" chain. Use your launcher again before the enemy falls and repeat the process to continue your Phantom chain. The tutorial mode's classroom lecture shows there are more kinds of Phantom chain, but I can barely read Japanese, so that's all I know.

You can also recover from an attack midair by tapping X or charging your dash. Charging your dash will result in you instantly teleporting to your locked-on target. That's Revenge.

I like what Meteorise did with this one.

Yeah, there are certain things you can do to make it a lot more fun, and the provided systems the game has are fun to explore. When I started the game, I spent a lot of time in training mode just getting used to things. Never ever did that in SK, which is just mash city.

Also Momo's "nothing personell" goes away after a while and she goes from worst character to literal best. The characters are pretty enjoyable - I really like Mana's development. Never ever saw that coming.

You are talking about textures, so I guess you are talking mostly about ingame-artstyle, and yeah SK has that plastic doll looking stuff going on in the Versus games. But Deep Crimson is much better in that regard I´d say.

Not really, its the first month that truly counts, the issue is that if your game doesn't get that word of mouth to spread what isn't marketed or just something that is going by people's heads, the sales aren't going to pick up.

For Japan, lifetime sales are usually the first few months unlike in the West where sales can continue unless it has a good sign of legs, which is the exception. Most see the first month as the bulk, while in the West the first month is just the gauge, unless the game is extremely high budget and need those 3 - 5 million sales ASAP because not doing so means two things, they either lose money or just break even in its life time which is still considered a failure.
