From now on, I'll be doing a pic of the day every day that I can. If there's no pic of the day, then some important personal issues came up, or I died. One of the two.

Today's pic of the day is of Portobello Village. Full of peaceful Goombas loyal to the kingdom, you can find the first badge shop here, as well as the Goomba Ruins.

The only path forward out of the village is high up... how will Mario and Luigi continue on their quest?

This is from one of the sections of Toadstool Lane. Toadstool Lane is a very large and open map, allowing the player to explore. From going in caverns to bandit hideouts to secret cloud areas, there's lots to do here.

Speaking of the demo, one of the biggest requests was to not have pitfalls equal auto Game Over. Using some programming magic, I was able to make it so you only lose 10 HP from falling into a pit, and it puts you back to a checkpoint.

Kind of. The programming magic was just editing the script to not end the game on death and instead play a common event that does some condition checks. If Mario's HP is above 10, dying takes away 10 HP. If he will die from a fall, it goes to a Game Over. Other party members can die from pits without Game Overs. If Luigi has 8 HP and Mario has 23, Luigi will die and Mario will live. If it's vice versa, it's a game over. It's like Fire Emblem.

I can try visible party members on the field. The default RPG maker does that, but with the platforming script, the party members spawn where you do and stay there.

There will be some sections where you switch to another character. These moments include:

>Bowser catching up to the Mario Bros. to join them in the second half of the game

Here's some concept art I sketched up to showcase an idea I have for one of the castle levels.

There will be a Magikoopa or another magic enemy that will fly around the screen, turning on and off blocks in the castle. Once Mario scales to the top, it swoops down in a last resort to attack him.

if you're gonna stream, OBS bar none. xsplit has great x264 libs so if you're using a literal toaster with a dual core or something, xsplit is the way to go.

Anyone making a fan-made Mario RPG and advertising it on /v/ has to understand that they have the power to invigorate the 34 material on any species in the Mario universe just by putting a pink bow on a slightly anthropomorphized (like in the style of Paper Mario) enemy design.

I would've gone with something more like one of the Dr. Mario viruses or maybe even whatever species Chippy was in BiS but Chain Chomps aren't bad either. I just hope artists have the sense to put the hole around where the chain is instead of on her underside.
