I made a single map in RPG maker with tons of events, descriptions when you'd examine objects and stuff, and the rest was just static images maps that took me a couple minutes to make. Honestly this doesn't feel like you were inspired at all. If someone linked me this video with no context I would have assumed you ran out of ideas. The references don't add enough to be worth while yet are forced into the audiences attention by being apart of the dialogue. You use full sentences to make some references rather than using subtlety. This is where your biggest problem is.
