FACT: Past two marathons have generated about $20,000 EACH in advertisement revenue. (total of $40,000 for the year)

FACT: AGDQ2014 total costs were $20,560 and SGDQ2014 total costs were $38,208. SGDQ2014 had more expenses because they felt the need to buy a $3,000 mixer and $5,000 cameras as well as other frivolous purchases.

FACT: Renting the convention rooms costs no more than $25,000 for the whole week.

Summary:
>GDQ has access to $183,000 prior to AGDQ2015 with expected ad revenue of $20,000 to refill their "bank buffer".
>AGDQs have never had expenses over $50,000

With Speedrunning there's also the added interest of perfect execution tied with games. And unlike twitch, not just the most recent/popular games get time to shine, but also old and obscure ones. It's nice seeing someone who knows a game in and out absolutely own at it.
