Who here is hyped for Oculus Rift?
What games are you looking forward to playing on it?
I hope that will not be the case. I don't even see why Facebook bought it, but they surely have some plans with it; I just hope it'll be something subtle.
Even if they fuck it up, someone else will make a proper one.
Loli Panty Quest VII-X-2: My Little Loli Yandere Imouto Can't be Pregnant - Special Extended Routes Edition.
Not as long as it's PS4 exclusive.
There are certain requirements in resolution and framerate that need to be to fulfilled in order to create a pleasant VR experience. A console that already struggles to reach 1080p/60FPS simply won't be able to do that.
Saw it at anime expo
Looked like shit.
You can see the black lines in between pixels
Hardly even noticed it was 3D
Never really felt immersed with the head motion tracking
Cant see any real games having any use for this.
Will be $400+.
So no I'm not.
The only way I will use it is if I can render 3 x 3 monitors out of the box so I can have a shit ton of thing running all at once. It needs piratical use.
I'm hyped for Morpheus and this game
If you couldn't notice it was 3d and it looked like shit it's because of a bad IPD configuration.
They did do a calibration process where you got your IPD right, RIGHT?
Because if they didn't there is literally no way you could enjoy it or even use it if your IPD setting was bad.
>being this unaware that facebook is the biggest personal information vacuum / aggregator / big brother in the history of mankind that you're willing to let them scan your retinas and show them all of your deepest desires that you wish to experience
>tfw I spend more time in Virtual stripclub than with real women
There are times when it can be quite comfy, I personally like standing at the corner of Franklin's balcony at night and just let the camera drift on the twinkling city lights below.
I do admit though it is not as comfy as a lot of games, but it has the potential to be a lot more, which I'm hoping mods will fix.
Well I got DK2 and I'm now a bit more cautious about it. Of course the impression it gives is completely out of this world, you actually feel inside the game's world. But there are couple problems and the biggest one is the lack of content for it. I used to think that I'll just go ahead and play all my favorite old games with a driver, but getting one to work is really fucking hard, especially if resolution of your monitor isn't the same as Rift's, then you really are in a world of shit.
>months of no OR threads
>suddenly they come back every day
consumer version announcement soon.
There's literally only 4-5 simulators that support it and some old fps games with hastily hacked in support. Going to be a huge failure.
Call back when the contraption doesn't look retarded as fuck.
Pretty fucking hype. First game I'll probably play on it is pretty obvious: Mirror's Edge. Then I'll probably try some good-looking FPSes, like the Crysis and Metro games. Maybe Cryostasis and STALKER if they work.
I highly doubt Sony and the PS4 have what it takes to get 75-90 fps out of 1080p games without resorting to textures and models from the PS2 era.
Why are you mirroring screens? At most, you would just temporarily set the Rift as primary.
Now, in Direct mode, some games will lock to the refresh rate of your primary monitor which is a different problem altogether.
I'm making one with karts and unreal engine 4
it's pretty amazing when you get to be inside a world you create.
with my 280x I have to reduce the screen space quite a bit to reach 75 FPS, specially if when I use effects with lights and shit... it looks great at high screen space values though.
I mean, unplayable, but great. We need foveated rendering or I need to get me one of those 980s
I'd caution against getting hype for 1st person games that aren't bound to a cockpit- The disconnect you feel when making some movements in-game can be really disorienting.
Then again, that may be because, for whatever reason, every first person walking demo I've tried on the Rift makes your head direction control the direction your body is facing in game instead of just looking to the side. It legitimately makes me sick.
