>5 FUCKING PLAYERS!
>6 GODDAMN PLAYERS AT ONCE!
>8 FUCKING PLAYERS
>you will never have 7 other friends to play with
>you will never even have 3 other friends to play with
>you will never even have 1 other friend to play with
None of this even matters.
>tfw have 6 wiimotes
>2 classic controllers
>8 fully functional gamecube controllers
I'm so fucking set.
Give it to me sakurai
>Weekend /v/smash tourneys, just like the Mario Kart /v/eekends
Holy fuck this is amazing
8 players on one console. Although since you can only connect 4 Wiimotes/Pro Controllers at a time, you'll probably have to use a combination of those, GC controllers and 3DS consoles to get everyone playing at once.
apparently it's your autisic input styles keeping you from enjoying yourself
>I shouldn't have to learn how to play the game to play the game competently
You should be able to play a game in order to learn a game. Training mode is not "playing the game"
That's good for a couple hours twice a week? I'm not gonna get anywhere in that time.
No it's my hatred of overly complex Capcom style inputs holding me back.
Wii U can connect up to 7 Wii U Pros, 8 GCN controllers (with 2 adapters), etc.
>8 players with Pokeballs and assist trophies only, on High
Of course I haven't bothered. I don't want to waste time and money on stuff with a skill floor that asks for effort and time. If I can't enjoy it at home alone, then it's shit. Smash 4 Wii U is looking pretty shit.
Confirmed for someone who never actually tried getting good. If you own a PS3 or Xbox 360 get P4AU and learn some fundamentals.
Only downside is no online 8 player smash.
Even then I know a place that hosts shit with a bunch of people so this will be fucking amazing.
I sure can't wait to NOT play as my favorite characters!
Thank you based Hackurai
>Confirmed for someone who never actually tried getting good.
I've tried several times. I can't even into Shoryuken. They're retarded and unintiuitive and don't even related to the action that occurs onscreen.
>buy that persona fighter
In your fucking dreams retard.
is your mom covered in my semen proof that she is my bitch?
>8 people fighting over Dragoon and Daybreak Parts
I'm mad because there's NOTHING interesting or exciting about the Wii U version beyond Mewtwo and a mode that wont' even be around at launch.
Dead fucking serious. And it's not like my hands are broken. I can play spectacle fighters and shooters and such with ease.
>Using Marth's Final Smash against 8 players
For what fucking purpose
Why the fuck would you have 6 wiimotes and 10 gamecube controllers
But I have no friends...
Also, why didn't they address the Online connection situation? It's the big question of the night and they pretended that issue didn't exist.
So I'm guessing it'll run just as haphazardly as the 3DS online does? I guess 4 player Smash is still out of the question?
Too bad it's fucking PERSONA. Seriously. I played and enjoyed a Naruto based fighter once and it was alright, but you didn't see me running off to go buy it. Shitty subject matter is a deal breaker.
If you play on a big stage like Temple with a big TV, it will probably be pretty good.
But holy shit, just imagine trying to play 8-player Smash on the smallest available stage. It WILL be a clusterfuck but imagine all the hilarity and shouting that will happen from a room of 8 people all getting caught in one smash attack at once. Just imagine how much stupid fun it will be.
I don't know about FRIENDS, but if a guy in one of the college dorms get it, he'll probably let me in for the game night.
Think there will be a midnight release at gamestop or should I just order it on amazon.
With amiibos You guys getting any amiibos?
>Warlock Punch catching 7 people at once
I couldn't contain my orgasm if that shit happened.
>imagine all the hilarity and shouting that will happen from a room of 8 people all getting caught in one smash attack at once. Just imagine how much stupid fun it will be.
But it won't be stupid fun. It'll be too chaotic to even feel like you're fighting. You'll just be dying and getting knocked around like crazy. It'll feel like button mashing.
>It's forward, down, forward+down.
That's the fucking problem. That's a crazy town input for fucking robots. Good on ya if you enjoy it but I can't even get over my DISLIKE of that input style. Smash has the only sensibly input style.
>somehow lining up 7 people in the KO punch
>Play with 99 lives, 300% mode, items on high, only bombs, hammers and the like
>Now I can double the clusterfuck for WiiU
I'm guessing that you're going forward, F+D, down, F+D AKA rolling across the buttons/stick. I still catch myself doing it too, it's an easy mistake to make that fucks it all up.
Anything aside from the standard D+F+FD type stuff is a deliberate action, which is hard to learn when you're still mostly reactionary, but hardly a difficult input.
>It'll be too chaotic to even feel like you're fighting
That's why the big stages exist. Playing Temple will be like playing any 4 player match on a regular stage. There's room to breath, but chances are you're not going to get more than 3 second's peace. You'll have two people fighting at the top right, three at the stairs part and three in the underground zone.
So on a big stage it'll be like any normal fight, only if you try to escape, you'll just join in the closest fight.
I think it's probable that you'll sometimes go an entire round without even meeting 1 specific player. Unless you make it a point to enter every fight.
Oh man. Imagine being that one guy that enters one area, smacks the guys there and immediately moves to the next area and repeats. You'd have 7 players following you and fighting between themselves over who gets to smash your shit. That's pretty funny.
>That's why the big stages exist. Playing Temple will be like playing any 4 player match on a regular stage.
Except with super zoom-out at all times.... and more players than any normal TV setup can comfortably house together at one time.
You won't even be able to hear the music.
I'm the hardest nintendrone but that was cringey as fuck 80% of the time
i dont actually give a shit though
How will it ruin anything when it's local only and entirely optional?
I bet you're one of those people that think clones take up slots that could have been used for actual characters.
hooray.. i cant wait to get 8 of my many real life friends together to play...
>that feel when you have more than 8 smashing friends
>Tree tips over and gets caught by a villager who lets it loose to smash a fire hydrant which flies into a greninja using down B so he directs it into a slip countering mac who punches a countering marth who hits a countering ike who hits pikachu
>Zelda/Sheik/Pittoo hitting all 7 players at once with his/her final smash
>It zooming in all on 7 getting shot
there was a hint towards this a long time ago, we couldn't have known then but now I see it, when he revealed 8 skins for each player
Hahaha what a whiney little bitch. Then don't get it. Its not like anyone would want to play with you if this is how you always act holy shit
Also sm4sh looks amazing from head to toe. Only thing I'm worried about is onling but going to play locally anyways so its a deffinit buy for me
>8 player matches with custom moves
>8 literal fire hydrants
>8 Marios shooting laser fireballs
>8 giant trees
stop being hyped, you expect too much
he says in the video, 8 player smash won't have online, and even in regular Mic can only be used before and after battles
kind of underwhelming isn't it?
>Look at those seven idiots over there fighting and building up their damage for me
Bitches gonna eat some Thoron
This was the best thing about the direct, I can't believe they actually did it, considering how lacking the 3ds version is in terms of online.
Also, that Miiverse stage looks dope as fuck.
>can catch 7 people in greninjas final smash
>if Ice Climbers were in, there would have been 16 characters on screen at a time
>if Olimar was still able to have 5 pikmin at once, there could have been 40 pikmin on screen at a time
>Only downside is no online 8 player smash.
That's an upside
One person can lag down a 4 player online match for everyone. With 8 player online, lagless rooms simply would not exist
>Except with super zoom-out at all times
Native 1080p nigga. Smash 4 is SIX TIMES the resolution of Brawl or Melee. You can have the camera zoom out by a factor of six, and suddenly it'll look like Brawl does normally.
>That feel when no friends
I-I'm sure 8 players against bots and Amiibos is going to be a lot of fun, too!
if you don't have friends just go to the near by community college im sure theres a game room
>Can't play online
What's the fucking point
Oh right, Nintendo still thinks America is like Japan in that we have Monster Hunter Cafes around every corner and live within talking distance to hundreds of other people who want to play smash at any given time.
No no, don't bother improving your online play, you can keep it the rancid pile of dogshit it's always been. The monster hunter cafe people won't care. They're your target audience after all, right?
I know competitive players from qc, but I want someone to play the game with items and all stages and they don't want to play like this and keep whining about how the game isn't competitive. Send me an email email@example.com.
inb4 penis enlargment emails
It's not exactly incompetence that they can't get 8 players online in the same match, shit would be hard to do.
Besdis it would ALWAYS be laggy, even one person lagging in 4 player can make a whole room lag.
I'm not sure you understand how latency affects fighting games, anon. Even the slightest delay will throw off a player's game completely in a traditional 1v1 fighting game. It's a problem in literally every online fighting game, but what happens when you add two extra players? it's now twice as problematic. 8 players? four times as problematic. And there is no way to resolve it until the entire world is outfitted with impossibly perfect networking services.
