so are the encounters with the alien predictable or are they completely random? From the threads it seems like the AI is completely random, and no anon is sharing the same experience
The encounters are random, so random that it doesnt rreally have many scripted appearances ( during gameplay ) And the AI seems to have some sort of agressive meter, the more sound you make and the more you alert him the more he comes up and or stalks an area. But hes pretty stupid and blind, the only places where youll have trouble is
The nest where you have to fire at facehuggers which attracts his attention, while on a straight corridorOther than that just keep crouched everytime, be patient and save all the time everytime
>Hey it's the end of the game
>just kidding lol
>Hey it's the end of the game

Suddenly two aliens at the same time
Finally had to use flares and noisemakers for that shit.
WEBM is a spoiler
I never got how it can "learn" unless it sees you, and you can't escape quickly enough for you to actually use it again in the future.
if you hide under a desk and it doesn't find you, how can it "learn" that you were hiding under the desk specifically? Or in a locker, or whereever, unless it sees you there.
Not that way
It's more like if you use noisemakers too often it will start ignoring them.
If you rely heavily on the motion tracker, it will learn to stay still for long periods of time, then ambush you.
If you use the flamethrower or molotovs too much, it will get a grudge and become even more aggressive with you.
How about a mod where
4 players play as crew
1 player plays as AYY LMAO
1 player plays as AI who is either friendly and looks out for the alien or sends working joes at the other players, locks them into places with the alien, sets off alarms where players are to alert alien player etc
>If you rely heavily on the motion tracker, it will learn to stay still for long periods of time, then ambush you.
That's cheating. I like it though.
>If you use the flamethrower or molotovs too much, it will get a grudge and become even more aggressive with you.
Huh. That's fucking awesome.
Aliens are aware of what motion trackers do due to having some form of intelligence.
Beep beep beep thing that humans have alerts them of your presence somehow, oh hey, it stops beeping when I stop.
>flamethrower or molotovs too much, it will get a grudge and become even more aggressive with you.
heh, after using the flamethrower on it a few times it started attacking me before it fucked off.
>Realize that noisemakers and flares can't be tongue-raped after seeing a few of them
>Looked everywhere but can't find the human, the last place you haven't checked is under a desk
>Getting torched by a flamethrower hurts, but fuck it, the human always manages to get away if you retreat to a vent after being hit
I've been using the motion tracker like a little bitch.
How fucked am I?
source or proof?
I torch it the fuck out whenever it sees me, or if i'm getting fed up with having to wait for it to climb back up into vents, but it hasn't gotten any more aggressive than it normally is
There are a few scripted encounters along the road but most of it is unscripted. It's well done.
Only problem I had with the game was the gadgets are annoying to use (they bounce around like rubber) and they are not needed anyway. I spent most of the game with a full inventory.
Also fuck the map, I finished the game without realizing the tracker showed you which way to go. Fuck.
I can confirm that's true, I used to torch it with the flamethrower and it would immediately run away, but near the end of the game I had torched it so much that it would take like 7 bursts for it to run away, otherwise it would just keep walking towards me slowly.
Just finished the game. Holy shit, goty material right here.
For those who is not sure if play or not because they get spooked easily - DO play it. It's not spooky, it just makes you feel on the edge, there's always this great tension. Alien
sdoesn't gets old even when you get weapon to surpass him.
It's also worth to play it just for the action sequences, they are fucking amazing, cod games and other blockbusters are not on even close to that shit.
My only small complain about the very end of the game. Amanda gets more bullshit happening to her in a few minutes than that bitch in Gravity during whole movie. Was kinda out of place
imo, 9/10 (-1 because it's a little repetitive)
>Not sexually attracted to a killer alien who wants to do nothing but eat you.
>wants to do nothing but eat you
You've never even seen one of the movies have you?
You still can anon. Show your support.
Actually it was designed to be sexual:
After O'Bannon handed him a copy of Giger's book Necronomicon, Scott immediately saw the potential for Giger's designs, and chose Necronom IV, a print Giger completed in 1976, as the basis for the Alien's design, citing its beauty and strong sexual overtones. That the creature could just as easily have been male or female was also a strong factor in the decision to use it. "It could just as easily fuck you before it killed you", said line producer Ivor Powell, "[which] made it all the more disconcerting."
Daily reminder to edit your XML file for improved FOV, shadows, and reflections.
I tried, /v/. I really did. After so many failed attempts and barely making progress in the game, I just had to kill them. It's kill or be killed.
What? Are you stupid? The only part in which you actually were kinda told it was the end of the game was on that webm you posted. Thats it. Also, were you playing on Normal? Cause on Hard I used flares, noisemakers plenty of times on the game. Theyre by no means necesarry, but god damn helpful on hard,.
For me, when I started using the Flamethrower, only one spray was enough to send him back to the vents, but after a while he started resisting two sprays, then 3, and 4.
Heh, seems most of my screens were used for something at least.
The Xenomorph in Alien is actually only hostile because it has no queen and doesn't know WHAT the fuck is going on or where it's at on board the station..
In Alien comics, which are canon, it's not entirely unusual for aliens to
have humans they like/the queen likes living among them. They can, and do, mate with humans non-fatally (yes this really happens).
Also here's a "before" picture.
The comics are not fully canon. It's like the expanded star wars universe (at least before disney acquired it) in the fact that anything in the movies will always override expanded universe.
Also here's shadows set to 4K.
2K shadows "before"
You can also edit the RADIOSITY_SETTINGS.TXT to fine tune reflections on things OTHER than the floors. For example gRadiositySpecularGlossScale= set to 1.5+ makes walls slightly reflective.
>hear footsteps or what might be the sound of drool hitting the floor
>it's just this briefcase spazzing out
The games infuriating.
The alien just pops up where it feels like, no matter what anyone says it's just after you, it'll happen to look under the table you happen to be hiding under ect so on and so forth.
As long as you don't use
They can, and do, mate with humans non-fatally (yes this really happens).
I plan on starting this later today. Normally I'd play on hard mode, but I heard the Alien AI is less dynamic in hard mode because of a glitch. Should I just play on normal? How big of a difference is there between the two difficulties?
My settings for highest quality (4K shadows, reflections, etc.)
And DOF, CA, motion blur off.
>at Seegson Communications
>have to backtrack and head to SciMed
>crawl through vent, get out in small room
>peek around the corner down a long hallway
>there's alien drool coming from a vent on the ceiling
>hide under a table in the room hoping it'll go away
>check my motion tracker
"OHH FUCK IT'S COMING FOR ME FUCK FUCK HIDE HIDE HIDE"
>turns out it's just crawling through some vents, goes past me
"right i'm gonna make a break for it while it's gone"
>sprint down the hallway, loud-ass music comes on, shit's about to get real
>head down some stairs and hide in a corner
>check the motion tracker
"OH FUCK IT'S COMING DOWN THE STAIRS SHIT I'M FUCKED"
>turns out it's an android
"oh phew I can run past him and get to the elevator"
>run past him and down a corridor
>alien grabs me from a vent on the ceiling and kills me
Loving this game, possible GotY for me.
>I preordered physical copy after seeing no-commentary leaked gameplay
>it has not yet arrived
I was very sad, hopefully I will get it tomorrow since they posted it on Friday. Atleast it was only 36 euros so I guess it does not matter that much if I have to wait.
I met some doctor and I still haven't seen Alien hunting for me. Yeah, I saw him in that cutscene, but otherwise he's almost nonexistent. Should I make more noise? I want to have fun.
Difficulty is set to hard.
Now we finally have the essential Alien experience.
Will we ever have the essential Aliens experience? Colonial Marines, you were the chosen one..
IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS BUG?
THE ALIEN KEEPS WALKING AROUND IN A CIRCLE, IT NEVER LEAVES THE AREA, I CAN'T GET OUT
WHEN IT SEES ME I RUN BACK INTO THE LOCKER AND IT IMMEDIATELY GOES AWAY AND WALKS BACK ROUND IN THE SAME CIRCLE NEVER LEAVING SO I CAN'T GET OUT OF THE AREA
I'VE BEEN DOING THIS FOR 20 MINUTES
>you will never get an Alien: Isolation sequel set during Newt's time after the fall of Hadley's Hope because CA have the trademark hateboner for everything without Ridley Scott's name on it
I want the same game but where I can be the little girl. More hiding, no weapons. Isolation kind of loses the tension after you get the incinerator.
Not really, Weyland corp. cloned Ripley with the DNA of a Xeno Matriarch, then the Queen they had which had also been corrupted with some human DNA (Ripley's) gave birth to the Newborn.
Go back and watch it.
I feel like this is the Alien game that we've wanted for so long.
Playing it feels great, you can tell the devs really went into detail watching Alien and drawing the concepts and world from that one movie.
To any sceptic bros i felt the same way, CA's last game was fucking shit and SEGA love to fuck us over. This is a good game though, I'll not go into hyperbole about how great it is but i'd say it's deffinately worth owning if you're an Alien fan. The fan-service is pretty limited and it feels like a movie sequel to the first alien.
The environments and atmosphere are spot on as you can see in any of the WebMs
The game is difficult without being outright retarded (From my own experience of playing on hard) I feel like a lot of the complaints about the Alien waiting outside of lockers and rooms for you are by players who simply do nothing whilst the Alien stalks you.
If you actually stealth the Alien or use your gadgets and gizmos it can be a really intense cat and mouse feeling. Especially when the enemies start to interact with each other making you feel very outnumbered and
AVP 1&2 were as good as it is ever going to get.
Any Aliens game worth is salt needs to have fast as fuck enemies and hectic action. That just not gonna happen in the age of consolas.
these faggots defending a game with a shitty mechanic.
The alien can and will ignore all other humans present in any situation to get the main character, the alien cannot hear NPC's walking around but can hear the main character.
cmon fags. you've seen the gifs.. and actually believing this is real and the alien is the best predator just reads as 10yr old kids. i bet you jerk to cartoons. enjoy your borken gaem.
>been spoiled all/most of the major twists in the game
bought itshould be good for a playthrough
>waiting for the tram
>heard people can actually die here
>actually a bit nerve wracking with all the noise the station is making now
>tram arrives, jump inside
>The Alien drops down just as the doors shut
>get to first Working Joe section
>pfft these guys are gonna be piss easy, I've seen videos of people just clubbing them left and right
>Joe spots me
>take a swing
>Joe wrings my neck like a wet washcloth
>ok lets try again, for real this time
>Joe beats me to death with his bare hands
>alright fucker you've called down the thunder
>land 3 revolver rounds in Joe's face
>Joe still gives no fucks
>two more Joes round the corner
>all of them teach me about Sevastapol's safety protocols
and the last one
>finally sneak past all the Joes and contact Samuels
>he tells me to get back to the tram station
>Arrive back in the first area after the tram station
>motion tracker starts going nuts
>giving me a single blip moving quick as fuck all around me
>hear muffled clanging and bumping from vents
>know the Alien doesn't appear for real until the next section, don't give a fuck
>get to tram station
>a couple people huddled around looking scared as fuck, otherwise safe
>Oh, hey, I should open those locked doors on the second floor to see if anything useful is in them
>walk up the stairs
>the fucking Alien drops down from the vent just as I reach the top of the stairs and bites my head off
>the motion tracker was right all along
you guys are wrong,.. in medical the aliens chased me past the 3 humans and killed me each time and in another situation the alien couldnt hear a human running down a corridor though if it turned its head about 20deg it would have seen it e
>Joe starts kicking you if you hind under some shit
>open locked door to find surgical kit
>alien stood there
>alien stood there
>fire revolver twice
>alien comes into the room
>alien walks down corridor to a previous section
>alien stood there
i checked my motion scanner and the alien was still behind me, i checked it on approach to the door and whilst the door opened it was still behind me and once the door fully opened the alien was exiting the door adjacent to the one ive just opened.
glitch? bug? i think teleport.
just another thought...
the alien isn't as clever as the devs have told people, and youre wrong because its clear the alien can be in two places at once..
ever though of that? or do you see your self as MLG? did you come here from a COD forum?
>yfw this is dead and will never see the light of day. never EVER.
the same reason why ripley takes 8 seconds to slide under a table
the same reason doors open slower than a cripple climbing stairs
the same reason,...... ah fuck it, i'd be here all day, there's a lot of forced tension.
for me the best bits were walking down corridors not knowing where the alien could come from, the worst parts is where the alien just hangs around.... and seems to not care about any other part of the ship.
>shit I walked through fire, what to do?
>stay calm, Joe, play it straight
>keep walking, maybe they won't notice
seems random to me. i was hiding in a locker in a small room and he came in, waited for him to walk out, he did, made my way through the door and he just decided to do a 180 as i was going through the door. i enjoy erratic ai patterns, but when it's pretty much death on sight with save spots with such distance, it just isn't entertaining to me at all. it's an exercise in tedium and i'm not a masochist. does the game ease up after the medbay?
I doubt Joes are programmed to give a fuck. They probably have sensors built in that send a signal to engineers that they're on fucking fire. They have no fear, no feelings, no doubt.
They are if you deal with alien encounters by hiding in a closet until it goes away. There are other more effective and
funways to get past it though, closets should be a last resort especially because the alien sometimes just rips the closet open and facerapes you
>Those sarcastic remarks when you try to shoot a working joe
>"Oh come on now."
t-thats too lewd
i thought the xeno ass in ping pong was enough
After the hospital section with the keycard my alien forever roams the overhead vents, I am free to frolic the hallways only occasionally being haunted by beeping.
Truly it is a glorious day, I might even fire off a few rounds overhead to say hello to ceiling xeno.
So? What, a game isn't allowed to include a feature that's obviously useful just because a couple of games had it before? Fuck.
Better not make any more games, they're not original!
I like the game but the guy is right. The alien is always targeting you specifically, even when there's several humans in the area. He'll attack other humans if he runs into them, but he's always specifically hunting you. If a human happens to be between you and the alien when the alien climbs out of a vent, the alien will kill him, but that's really it.
If the Average Joes are supposed to be budget synthetics and don't need "absolute human looking features", then why do soldier androids get the nice looking skin? They are expendable as fuck.
>Tfw no mod where the alien becomes a cute imouto
>Tfw the alien sound effects will never be replaced by the imouto calling for her onii-chan
That would be scary and adorable, maybe a sort of yandere imouto.
>one of the first Joe encounters
>not sure if the Joe is hostile or not
>slowly approach it with your revolver raised towards it head
>it turns towards you
>"I wouldn't advice that"
Not in my experience. The alien always just killed all humans it encountered.
One time I ran into some guys in the tram station and they started shooting. The Alien dropped from a vent near me, ran past me and killed the guy with the guns, only then it turned the attention to me.
Is it just me or is this game a complely buggy mess? I encountered a progress stopping bug at the very start when you wake up - if you get dressed after talking with the guy in the medical the doors for the next rooms won't open. I had to start a new game. so basically if you do things out of order the game shits itself. because i am in the next space station and the doors around the control room are locked telling me to restore power when I just did that.
Fuck off, you are not welcome here and you know it.
Spoiler question. What happens at the very end, where amanda activates some shit like self-destruct thing in Alien? I missed the dialogue before that. Why did she suddenly started to fly the fuck out? and how did she got back (i know she fastened herself to some shit, but it's still kinda confusing)
I'm using it, and I usually hate postprocessing but it works well in this game and adds to the atmosphere, I should also add that it's only noticeable on the edges of the image, which is exactly why you cropped your image
anyone noticed how much easier the game became after you get to synthetics?
So, what you are saying is that, there is a chance that the alium can appear as soon as it leaves, seeing as it's random. Or completely not appear excluding scripted appearances.
how the fuck are you people enjoying this? the fuck is wrong with you? the medbay is fucking unbearable. this shit is trial and error as fuck. i wonder if it correlates with the urge to be submissive and dominated. people that like this game confirmed for cuckolds
I'm pretty sure you're confusing the comics with some fan-fiction written by Slof. There was a popular story where a Xenomorph queen kept a large human and raised him. People liked it cause there are multiple sex scenes in it. Almost all of the comics have been made uncanon by Fox after Alien 3, resurrection and Prometheus came out. There are points in the comics where humans have raised Xenomorphs to be unhostile to humans though. I read a lot of Aliens fiction.

Has anyone else encountered the rape scene yet? I can't believe no one is talking about this.
stop playing on very easy then cunt. 50% of the time he recks me through the flamethrower and he gets more resistant to it the more i use it. Btw, have fun running low on ammo.
>The first time you see saliva dripping from the ceiling
As much as I shit on new games for being too short this game reminded me that long games aren't as good as I remembered them being. So many red herrings and repetitive shit over and over and over and over again. I'm at the part where the game remembered that the torrens exists and I'm connectin gthe docking clamps or whatever the fuck and I opened a door and the alien instantly killed me, waiting in a vent right above the door, nothing on the tracker and no chance to see the drool falling down. It stopped being scary a long time ago and has gotten boring as shit, I think I'm just going to watch some fag on youtube play the rest of it because I can't be bothered.
I only wish the game were longer, I was saving up my shotgun rounds and bolts for more Joe's but never ended up seeing them. The reviews talked about a third act where you were pitted against everything you've faced so far. I kept waiting for it, but Joe's and Ayy both coming at you happened rarely. I also wish it were somewhat more difficult, especially towards the end... I really liked the section where your weapons were taken away from you (the hazmat joes were the toughest enemies in the game for me until i figured out the environmental kills).
Loved the game though, 9/10 would play again.
It's not scripted, but not entirely random either. After a few hours you learn to predict him fairly well (at least you should if you want to live), but his behavior can fluctuate pretty widely based on the area you're in, how much noise you're making, how much you've pissed him off previously, stuff like that.
Even on Hard I found that if you manage to avoid him for long enough he ends up becoming fairly placid, though this is difficult since there are several segments in the midgame where avoiding him entirely is damn hard. Although just hiding from him forever tends not to work, he gets grumpy if you stay in the same area too long.
buddy it just goes on forever and is the exact same shit over and over again, sneak through a room, alium appears hide sneak away. escape the station, oh wait bullshit #43 just happened and now we have to do something else.
It's fucking boring.
Any anons know how I can use the cheatengine to create basic freecam for this game? I want to take some cool screenshots for desktop backgrounds.
i like a good challenge, but i dont like tedium and repetition. sorry we have different standards. turns out most of the best stealth games of all time didn't use erratic, random patrol routes. surely it's not hard to program that? maybe it was because they wanted to make their games at least mildly enjoyable and playable.
sorry, i just have a low tolerance for tedium and repetition. the game isn't exactly difficult, but there is still a degree of randomness (at least in the medbay) that results in death. if the ai decides to randomly spin around, that's it. wouldn't be an issue if the save points weren't so distanced.
this all could just be particular to the medbay, but as it stands this just simply isn't fun or entertaining in anyway. it doesn't even inspire dread or tension anymore after you've came into contact with the alien so many times, you begin to become desensitized to it after repeatedly dying. i really don't see the allure here but im going to continue to try and progress and see if it gets better but i feel like a lot of /v/ just enjoys this game due to hivemind mentality and also partly because its difficult and it makes them feel CORE GAMERS when other whiney game journalist are moaning about the difficulty
The point isn't that its to long, its that it gets really repetitive. Don't tell me at the end that you didn't start to hate the game with the constant back tracking for the last hour.
Not to mention that the entire quality of the game takes a nose dive as nothing new is introduced and the animations and shit get really low quality.
Its a good game but it lasts way to long.
nah mate I played on hard
>have fun running low on ammo.
you're probably one of those that hold down the button when firing, wasting like 100 fuel units, just fire in short bursts, I used the flamethrower waaay too much and my fuel only went below 200 at the end of the game when you're killing facehuggers and shit.
>50% of the time he recks me through the flamethrower
I should add he does that sometimes if you let him get close enough, just keep him at a distance and when he starts to get smart charge at him and burn his ass, guaranteed he runs like a bitch. Anyway, that attack he does takes away between one third to a half of your health, just use a medkit and you'll survive it indefinitely.
>implying alien was scarier than these fuckers
In the first movie the black dude distracts the alien by fighting it so that short haired girl can get away but all she does is cower and when the black dude dies the alien kills her because she is too fucking stupid to run.
Pretty close, yeah.
Once I decided to git gud I had about a half-hour that by all accounts was supposed to be alien-filled death, but ended up as a casual stroll through the second half of Medbay because he was so not even mad that he never left the vents for a huge stretch of time. And yes, this was on Hard.
On the other hand, if you fuck up enough he gets pissy and just NEVER LEAVES.
hurr durr he suddenly turned around
oh wow he can sense on the level
hurr durr he looked below the table i was hiding
iTt's a fucking Alien, he's supposed to be smart and deadly. That's the point.
>the aliens chased me past the 3 humans
Well there's your fucking problem, he was already locked on you, he isn't going to re-target when he's already decided to munch on your skull.
For the record, yes, the exact opposite will happen where he'll run right past you to get at another human who pissed him off before he spotted you.
If he's passive, he'll usually aggro on whoever he spots first. Make sure that person isn't you.
Though the final portions of the game were weaker than the beginning and middle parts, I found the final hours still rather entertaining, and tense to play. There was a nice mix of both new areas (habitation block) and revisiting old ones, along with the atmosphere of the game getting even more desperate and tense as everything in the station started to fall apart completely.
The only thing that might have made the final hours of the game even better for me, would be if the game started running on a timer after the
station started to fall out of orbit., so that you would actually be under pressure to achieve your goals as fast as possible in order to escape.
encounters with Ayy Lmao are completely random and he is pretty much a pain in the ass but at least fair. If you get spotted you at 90% you're fucked unless you have a flamethrower or a molotov to temporary "scare him"
so can anybody help me out or what?
All these alien isolation threads are making me waste my entire day with nothing but alien stuff.
I have a fucking 150 word essay due tomorrow and I'm never gonna finish it because of this shit.
The drones for this shit are getting very obnoxious. The piece of shit is pretty ugly and relies on about 60 filters and glaring effects to blind you from actually being able to see shit. Remove the aberration filter and bloom and the game looks like Doom 3. The enemy AI is retarded, I don't know what people are talking about shitting over how it "learns". It's literally randomly pulled to your area and acts completely random, and then if you enter its cone of sight it clips through shit to try and grab you.
Game isn't even scary, most of the actual scares in a scene are very glaring and the game practically says "HERE COMES THE SCARE HERE IT COMES OH NO Oink" and all the scare shit you'd get from the alien are ruined by it acting like such a massive retard.
It doesn't surprise me that /v/ has been over-run by these Neogaf-tier casual consumerwhores who would be bellowed out of this den of retardation years ago but I guess we've all gotten a bit too comfortable with our hand on Reddit's dick to give a shit.
>For the record, yes, the exact opposite will happen where he'll run right past you to get at another human who pissed him off before he spotted you.
oh shit this actually happened once and I thought he glitched out, running past me like that I thought I'd be dead
I had a sudden realization, do aliens have acid because they use the acid from your stomach?
I mean yes our acid isn't as strong as the aliens, but it could be a base for what they use to create their own stronger acid. And they burst from our stomach so i assume thats the womb area they grow in.
They are completely predictable
after 2 to 3 encountersunless you are some kind of retard or play without sound.
I still like the game though.
Killing me here with the stock /v/ insults are you going to tell me to tip my fedora next? If you want some actual well done stealth in a series check out Thief 1 and 2.
Also, why does the infallible killing machine alien not respond to humans walking around and talking? Why do I have to make noise myself to get him to attack these faggots?
>says that dislikes tedium and repetition
>complains about an unpredictable AI is bad
>complains about lack of save points
Nope, you clearly like tedium and repetition, it's just that this game doesn't repeat itself, that's why you don't like it. You actually like repetition, that's why you like to save often, that's why you dislike random patrol routes, because you can't predict, because it's always different.
So, no, you actually likes tedium and repetition, that's why you dislike Isolation.
Rip tablet Honestly this is the most fun i had on /v/ in a while Thanks for the fun anons!
>If you want some actual well done stealth in a series check out Thief 1 and 2.
>hahaha u mad dog maym ironic shitposting is ironical imlbying im newfag cancer lol hating reddit is a meme
So that room where you fight like 5 androids at once to get the key card how do you do it without a pipe bomb? I was lucky and had enough materials for one and just grouped them together and blew them all up.
No, all strains of xenomorph have acid blood, that's one of their natural traits regardless of host organism.
>they burst from our stomach
Actually they just settle into the chest cavity, not the stomach itself.
look at pic related, it's obviously designed to have the hallway take the longest distance possible to get you between the rooms, so you have to get to the farther room once to enable some objective, alien appears, now you have to backtrack to the first room for objective, but OH SHIT GUESS WHAT, THAT GENERATOR YOU JUST ENABLED IN THE FARAWAY ROOM STOPPED WORKING FOR NO REASON MOTHERFUCKER GO RE-ENABLE IT THEN BACKTRACK BACK
I liked the game, I liked the game a lot, I didn't find it tedious or difficult like some here say but come on, I think we can all admit the level design went downhill in those last hours
Why are you a retard? I've had the alien kill the humans without them shooting at me or me making a noise.
Are you so adjusted to shitty AI in games that when an AI isn't predictable you have to relate it to shit because it doesn't do scripted shit every single fucking time?
The point of a dynamic ai is so every person's experience is different, if everyone's human NPC dies to them talking every single time thats scripted.
DLC that removes enemies for photographer simulator when?
I'm not good at that shit, i'll leave that to whoever wrote this:
>it's just that this game doesn't repeat itself
What the fuck are you talking about? I've seen the same scripted bullshit multiple times. What the fuck does saving often have to do with liking repetition? You save after an even or encounter in a game to avoid having to do it again. I bet you think you sound really clever.
Is there a problem?
No enemy in the Thief game is comparable to the Xeno, piss off.
well, that backtrackign session was a little bit stupid, yea, but i feel that generator breaking was added for "shit is going down" feel. They achieved it imo, there was so much stuff happening in those last few minutes.
Go to the computer (or was it rewire system? Fuck I dunno) and turn on the gas, it'll create a jet of flame blocking the door that they'll walk through. I used an EMP to trap most of them in the flame jet and it killed 3 of them I think.
>If you rely heavily on the motion tracker, it will learn to stay still for long periods of time, then ambush you.
I didn't notice this until near the end of the game.
>alien stands still
>head held up high
>oh fuck its listening for it
When you first encounter the Hazmat Joes (just after you lose your weapons) there are 2 environmental kills you can perform. one with the coolant system (left side) and one with electrifying the water-filled floor (right side). it was teh only way I could get past them, at that point I had low health, no medpacks and no materials.
>Aggro two androids
>Oh fuck run run run
>Dead end with locker
>Oh well, give the locker a try and hold back
>Androids come in, look around, pause by the locker and leave
>Ahaha this AI is fucking stupi-
>try to get out
>locker is stuck or the game is bugged
>mfw the androids are so intelligent they've discovered that locking me inside the locker is the most efficient way to kill me
Also, I think it was bullshit that amanda and that other stupid bitch wanted to stop marlow, I mean what for? he's obviously right on all accounts, if the company gets their hands on the alien it'd probably wreck humanity and nothing good would come out of it.
Game should've ended with them sacrificing themselves or letting marlow do his shit while they haul ass out of there on the torrens.
These two bitches wanted to save the infested station and for what? for their own skin a 5 other survivors.
>Ripley go press this button for this locked door
>Ripley go get this key card for this door
>Ripley go get medical supplies
>Rimiply go turn that generator on
>Ramiply go open this door and go back to get this item
>Ramirely go get the assault rifle
>Ramirez shoot the chopper
>Ramirez open the door
Seems /v/ drones like to forget those bits
the alien jumping down from the vent after you get the code
it waiting in the vent after you initiate the evacuation procedure
just off the top of my head. it always magnetizes to you, regardless of where you are in that area. it's not using complex ai to find you, it just stays in your area because it's programmed to do so. the ai really isnt a sophisticated as people make it seem. it just stays in your area and patrols around erratically and does dumb shit like walk in and out of a room multiple times and then jump in a vent, jump out immediately, jump back in again.
the game isn't very good aside from retaining the atmosphere of the first movie with the great soundtrack and retrofuturistic environment.
I suppose remove all hostile mobs then
Yeah but those are all lively, non-scary areas
Some proper spoopy looking shots would be king
I'd have that shit as my screensaver
I've completed the twice twice now, both times on normal difficulty, so if you play on hard your experience may change.
But the alien doesn't seem to learn or adapt if you keep hiding under tables or crevices. He'll roam the area for a bit, then leave through a vent. You then move on. When he spawns again you just hide under a table, wait a few minutes for him to leave, then you move on a bit. Rinse and repeat, that's the whole entire game.
Not that I'm badmouthing the game, I had fun, but that's pretty much the game. I only died a handful of times cause I'm not a fucking scrub. The AI isn't that "advanced". From what I've heard it'll just ignore your tactics the more you use them. You can use a flare to distract it. It'll work like the first 4 times apparently then the alien will just ignore them. Apparently if you keep hiding in the lockers, the alien will eventually just break into the locker and kill you anyway. You can use the flamethrower to scare it away but it'll eventually ignore the flamethrower, etc.
This kind've AI is basic as shit, it should be the bare minimum expected in a hide and seek simulator, yet it seems as if its the only hide and seek simulator which has an AI system like this.
You're talking about Aliens: Labyrinth and are completely misrepresenting what happened.
Anyone have a webm or video of a door being shut on the alien's tail?
>tfw have tablet yet cant even draw a stick figure
i wish i could be the drawfag for once
